It turned out to be vitamins.
I finally understood. It seemed that I had to replace all those vitamins when I got home. Otherwise, I was afraid that I would have an allergic reaction and faint again. After knowing that I was okay, I felt much better.
"Can I go home now?" I acted coquettishly with my mother. "I don't like the smell of the disinfectant in the hospital."
Hearing this, my mother hesitated for a moment. She turned her head and glanced at my father as if asking for his opinion. My father looked at me and then at my mother but didn't say anything. Just at this moment, the door of the ward was pushed open again.
The three of us looked over at the same time. When I saw clearly who the person was, I frowned. It was that good-looking but strange man.
"Why are you here again?"
"Xie Yan."
My mother and I spoke at the same time. When I heard my mother call the man Xie Yan, I was taken aback. Immediately, this name popped up in my mind, and I felt it was very familiar.
However, when I searched carefully in my mind, I found that I didn't know this man named Xie Yan at all.
My mother also heard my impatient tone just now. She turned her head and looked at me in surprise. But in an instant, she regained her usual expression.
"Mom, do you know him?" I was referring to this man named Xie Yan.
"Ah? I know... No." My mother explained in a confused way, and her face was full of panic. Before she could finish speaking, she grabbed my father's hand and looked at him pleadingly.
"He's your new landlord."
My father spoke up. "Your cake shop has been acquired. He's your landlord now. He happened to find you fainted when he went to inform you."
New landlord?
I turned sideways to look at the man. With his tall and slender figure, noble temperament, and the custom-made suit on him that obviously cost a fortune, I immediately thought it made sense.
A person who could afford a storefront in the city center must be a rich man.
"Sorry!"
I said softly to Xie Yan, "I didn't know it was you who saved me before, and I regarded you as a bad guy. I'm really sorry."
Xie Yan had beautiful eyes. They were slender but not delicate. Instead, there was a bit of tenderness when he raised his eyes and looked at me. He looked at me, and his thin lips parted, "It doesn't matter."
Since it was a drug allergy and my body hadn't suffered much damage, I took some medicine and went home to recuperate on the same day.
My parents opened the door of our house. As soon as I entered, I bent down to
change my shoes, but there was no milky white shoe cabinet in front of me. The moment I froze, I found that my parents were looking at me worriedly.
Something was wrong.
I straightened up and asked my mother, "Do we have a shoe cabinet at home?"
My mother glanced at the front door and shook her head. "No, but it doesn't matter. Didn't you like a shoe cabinet when we went to the furniture store last time? We'll go and buy it in a couple of days."
"Oh." I nodded and walked towards my room.
Back in the room, I tossed and turned on the bed, feeling uncomfortable. Finally, I simply got up and went back to the store. The door of the store was locked. As soon as I opened the lock, I saw the new landlord, that is, Xie Yan standing not far from the door of my store.
He was probably here to give me the new contract.
I turned around and walked towards Xie Yan, and said politely and gently, "Do you want to come in and have a seat? I don't have any orders today anyway."
The long hair on Xie Yan's forehead fell between his sharp eyebrows. He raised his eyes and looked at me but didn't say anything. It was just that when I looked at his deep eyes, I felt a chill down my back.
Was he going to raise the rent?
There was no need to be so embarrassed to say it, right?
My cake shop had just opened not long ago. Even if the rent was increased, I could accept it. Thinking of this, I invited Xie Yan softly again, "Come on! I'll treat you to a cake as an apology for my previous behavior."
"Mianmian." Xie Yan spoke.
His voice was deep with a hint of helplessness. I just felt uncomfortable, but since he was my new landlord, I could only accept this affectionate address.
After some politeness, Xie Yan finally came back to the store with me. As soon as I opened the refrigerator, I found that there was nothing in it. So I could only get a carton of milk for Xie Yan.
"This milk tastes good." I said to Xie Yan.
Xie Yan picked up the milk and held it in his palm. He stared at me without moving. I didn't know how much time had passed. I just thought there was something wrong with Xie Yan. Otherwise, why was he always staring at me?
Finally, I couldn't help but was about to ask him to leave when Xie Yan finally spoke, "Thank you."
"You're welcome." I said reluctantly.
The atmosphere was awkward for a moment. Xie Yan sat on the stool, and my gaze went through the glass window to look at the pedestrians on the road. But I always felt that Xie Yan beside me seemed to be looking at me.
However, when I turned my head, he was just looking down at the milk in his hand.
After several times, I suddenly turned my head sharply and saw that Xie Yan's eyes were fixed on my neck. There was a cold and gloomy light hidden in his bright black eyes.
A gust of cold wind blew across my neck, and I instinctively covered my neck with my hand.
Xie Yan's eyes paused and he quickly retracted his gaze.
It was as if nothing had happened. I felt strange inside. Did Xie Yan have some strange hobby?
Why did he like staring at people's necks?
I thought about it but couldn't get an answer. So I simply asked Xie Yan directly, "Are you going to raise the rent?"
"No."
Xie Yan stood up, still holding that carton of milk in his hand.
I also stood up following Xie Yan's movement. He was much taller than me. When I stood in front of him, I only reached his shoulder. I had no choice but to look up at Xie Yan's face.
Just as I looked up, Xie Yan's slender fingers touched my cheek.
The cold touch instantly stimulated me. After I quickly dodged, I saw the disappointment in Xie Yan's eyes. I frowned and lost my temper with Xie Yan impatiently, "Please pay attention to your boundaries. I'm just renting your house and have no other intentions. Please don't do this."
As soon as the words fell, I saw that Xie Yan's hand hadn't fallen yet. His eyes were fixed on his fingertips, and his gaze was gentle.
Was he missing the feeling of touching me just now?
At the thought of this, I felt a chill all over my body and involuntarily took a step back. And before Xie Yan could react, I opened the door and said to him, "Please leave."
My voice echoed in the empty store. Hearing this, Xie Yan raised his eyes and looked at me, then slowly walked out.
The store was quiet again. I sat on the chair and quietly thought about everything that had just happened. But I didn't know why. Obviously, I didn't like Xie Yan's frivolous actions.
However, now that Xie Yan had really left, I felt a heavy weight in my heart, as if something was pressing on it, making it hard for me to breathe.
The door of the store was pushed open again. I raised my eyes and saw a strange woman.
"Hello. What do you need?" I shook my head, shook off the previous emotions, and warmly greeted the customer.
"Don't you remember me?"
The woman walked up to me and looked me up and down. Suddenly, her delicate eyebrows relaxed, and she was full of pride. She smiled and said, "Gu Mian, I'm Shen Yue! Your brain is damaged now because I replaced your medicine!"
