"Stop, I need to get ready for class!" she gasped, pushing against his chest, though her hands lingered longer than necessary.
Ethan smirked, his fingers tracing slow circles against the small of her back. "You say that, but you're not really trying to leave, are you?" His voice was teasing, low, and entirely too tempting.
She groaned, tilting her head back against the dorm room wall. "You're impossible."
"And you," he murmured, brushing his lips just below her ear, "are breathtaking when you're flustered."
Her breath hitched, but she steeled herself, slipping out of his hold. "Seriously, I have to go," she said, smoothing her wrinkled shirt and avoiding his heated gaze.
Ethan leaned against the doorframe, watching her with a lazy grin. "Fine. Go. But don't pretend you didn't love every second of that."
She rolled her eyes but couldn't stop the smile tugging at her lips as she grabbed her books and fled, her heart still racing.
At that same moment Raine entered. The other couples were still so into each other tha they didn't even realize someone had entered or they just really do not care.
"Who did you say marked me?"
"That girl over there! She's the prettiest first year"
"I'm not a lesbian! " She sighed and was about to leave before the girl stopped in front of her.
"I don't usually do this, Rowan but since I saw potential In you, I'm going to bet all In and have you as my mate. You can defeat the an Alphas and I will become your Luna"
"I repeat I'm not... Wait how do you Think I can defeat an alpha? Do you also think I'm special?"
She scoffed.
"I'm Ellie, you should know that by now, the hottest chic in this academy. My father is the biggest Alpha in the north. I have nothing to worry about. A few cheat here and there would get you to where you want and what you want. You are into cheats already. Besides, I think you're cute. Where did you get your hair dyed?"
"Uhh? ...It's not dyed. I mean not dyed by a commercial store. My mother had someone to do that for me few days ago" Raine lied. It was better that way than letting a stranger know she has a natural orange hair. That would only get her in a bigger trouble If her father actually sent people after her.
"Whatever, so do we have a deal?"
"No. I'm sorry, I have a mate already"
"Who? Does she go here? Aren't you too young to be committed to one woman?"
Rowan hesitated, gripping her books a little tighter. "She… doesn't go here," she said carefully, trying to mask her discomfort. "And it's none of your business."
Ellie smirked, folding her arms. "So, she doesn't go here, huh? That means she's not around to stop me from stealing you." She leaned in slightly, her eyes glinting with challenge. "You know, it's kind of a waste, letting someone like you go untouched. You look so pure and innocent, I could show you things you've never imagined."
Rowan took a step back, her heart hammering in her chest. "I already told you no," she said firmly. "I don't need your cheats, and I don't need a Luna. I never even said I wanted to be an alpha"
Ellie sighed dramatically, tossing her hair over her shoulder. "Such a shame. I could've made you powerful."
"I don't need you for that, either."
For a moment, Ellie just stared at Raine, and then she grinned, the thought of someone else dating the cutest boy in school drove her mad!. I mean she went through all that hassle because she needed a cute boy from a powerful academy and background as a boyfriend and now she have found him, he's refused her?.
"Alright, Rowan," she purred. "You want to play hard to get? Fine. But let's see how long you last before you come running back to me."
She was barely done talking when the heavy doors to the lecture hall swung open, and the room fell into a hush. A group of professors entered, their presence commanding immediate attention
The moment they stepped into the lecture hall, Raine knew she was screwed.
Not just because she hadn't even had time to change, her shirt still wrinkled and was dirty, making her the only one who looked like they'd just rolled out of bed while the other students were perfectly put together. No. She was screwed because of the three men standing at the front of the room, watching the chaos unfold with unreadable expressions.
Three Alphas. The very Alphas she'd been sent here to kill.
Her stomach plummeted.
Students were still making out, pressed against desks, walls, and even the backs of chairs, completely oblivious to the new arrivals. The rest of who'd just arrive, probably from our their near-miss situations, froze, watching in horrified silence.
Someone coughed.
A desk scraped against the floor.
And then, one of the Alphas spoke.
"That's enough."
The voice was deep, commanding, and laced with something that made every instinct in her body snap to attention. It didn't matter that she'd heard voices like his before. She's never been trained to withstand the presence of powerful Alphas without crumbling. The sheer authority in his tone was enough to send a ripple of submission through the room.
The making-out students jolted apart, wide-eyed and breathless. Someone, a guy in the back hissed, "Shit," under his breath.
The Alpha who had spoken was broad-shouldered, dark-haired, he his head slightly, scanning the room. His gaze passed over raine, and for a single, terrifying second, she thought he finally recognized me.
He didn't.
But she knew him. Now sure as hell that he was the one at the auction.
Alpha Gabriel.
The other two Alphas stepped forward. One had silver-streaked dark hair, his features sharp and cold, like he was carved from ice. If her guess was right, he should be Alpha Kieran. The other had a wicked grin, his eyes were sharp with amusement like this entire situation was the most entertaining thing he'd seen all week. Alpha Cole.
But damn! They were all rediculously hot. Like handsome, handsome.
Accepting to kill them wasn't a big of an issue but seeing this hot men every damn day could change her mind. And to crown it all, she was stuck in their class.
"This," Alpha Kieran said smoothly, his voice like a blade sliding against steel, "is not how we expected to start the term."
A few students shuffled nervously.
Alpha Cole chuckled. "No, but it's entertaining."
"Sit," Alpha Gabriel ordered.
No one hesitated.
Chairs scraped as students scrambled to obey, the room shifting from chaotic energy to absolute silence in seconds. Raine moved too, sliding into an empty seat near the back, her heart still hammering. Her hands curled into fists under the desk. This wasn't just bad luck, this was a complete disaster.
First day of class, and she'd already made the worst impression possible.
She barely had time to breathe before more students rushed in, looking frantic and slightly disheveled, clearly having run here. Some still had their shirts half-buttoned, others tugged at their collars, and one girl's hair was suspiciously tousled. Their expressions shifted from relief to horror the moment they spotted the three Alphas at the front of the room. But atleast they had their uniforms on.
A girl near me muttered, "Well, shit."
Yeah. That about summed it up.
Alpha Gabriel let the silence stretch, his gaze sweeping over the class like he was memorizing every single face.
"Since some of you are incapable of showing up on time" Alpha Kieran's cold voice cut through the air, sending a chill down my spine. " whatever, We'll make this quick."
He stepped forward, his presence suffocating in its intensity. "I am Alpha Kieran." His sharp gaze pinned each of us in place. "I will be handling your strategy and tactics training. If you're lucky, you'll leave this academy knowing how to think instead of just relying on your instincts like wild animals."
Alpha Cole smirked, stepping up next. "I'm Alpha Cole. I'll be handling combat training. You'll bleed in my class. If you don't, you're not trying hard enough." His grin widened.
If they could be that proffesor that sleeps with female students, the he would pass as one.
And then Alpha Gabriel, the one I already knew, the one I had to be most careful around, stepped forward last. "I've introduced myself a hell lots of time ." His voice deep and nonchalant.
A heavy silence settled over the room.
He continued, eyes scanning the class. "You are here because you have potential. But potential means nothing if you cannot survive. This academy does not tolerate weakness. If you fail, you will be sent home. If you disgrace your pack, you will pay the price."
His gaze flickered over Raine again, lingering for half a second too long. Her breath caught in her throat. Did he know? Could he sense who she was?
No. That wasn't possible.
She forced my shoulders to relax, gripping her desk hard enough to hurt.
"Stand up orange hair" Alpha Kieran said flatly.
Raine suddenly had a hiccup. They was no freaking way she was expecting this.
"Me?"
"You are the only orange haired dude here. Incase you are not aware you should know that now"
Raine swallowed hard, her pulse thundering in her ears. Slowly, she rose to her feet, every muscle in her body coiled tight with tension.
Alpha Kieran's cold gaze raked over her. "You have a name, or should we just call you 'orange hair' for the rest of the term?"
A few students chuckled, but the weight of Kieran's scrutiny kept most of them silent.
"…Rowan," she said finally, forcing the word past her dry throat.
Alpha Gabriel's eyes narrowed slightly. He tilted his head, like he was trying to place if she was telling the truth or not.
"And what exactly were you doing before arriving here?" Alpha Kieran continued, his tone deceptively casual.
Raine hesitated. She could lie, but something told her these men would see right through it. "I—" she started, but before she could finish, a voice cut through the room.
"She was busy rejecting me," Ellie drawled lazily from her seat, crossing her legs and smirking. "Hurts my pride, honestly."
The room broke into murmurs.
Raine clenched her jaw. Of course, Ellie would take this opportunity to make things worse.
Alpha Cole raised an eyebrow, looking amused. "Rejecting you, huh? You don't get rejected often, do you, princess?"
Ellie pouted, flipping her hair. "Never. Until today, apparently."
Raine shot her a glare before turning back to Kieran, who looked completely unimpressed by the conversation.
"I don't really care about your love life," he said bluntly. "What I do care about is discipline. And you? You walked in here looking like you lost a fight with a laundry machine."
Her face burned. She wanted to sink into the floor.
"Since you are already up, let's start from you" Alpha Kieran continued, his voice like ice, " Why did you choose this academy. For a powerful sex partner? , For revenge or you just want to level up your skill and have a better chance in ranking high in the society?"
