Chapter 47: Rewards and Exchange (Part 1)

"Trial mission rewards are now being calculated!"

The cold voice showed no concern for the slight displeasure in Morin's words. Directly in front of him, a three-dimensional playback screen appeared, replaying Morin's experiences in the Sword Art Online world. Various scenes within the game flashed vividly.

There was the moment Morin first entered the world of Sword Art Online, swiftly leveraging the interpersonal connections of the person he replaced to obtain the SAO helmet and dive into the game.

Then came the first afternoon in SAO, when Kayaba Akihiko appeared as a faceless crimson giant to announce the cruel reality — that the virtual game had turned into a death game. Amid the shock and chaos at the central plaza of the Town of Beginnings, Morin was the first to step forward and address the terrified players. Immediately afterward, he met Yuuki Asuna, known simply as "Asuna" in the game, and the scene shifted to the two of them speaking at an inn and eventually forming a party together.

The memory skipped to the monster grinding sessions on the first floor, where Morin warned players who dared to step beyond the Town of Beginnings. He shared crucial information from the beta testing phase, significantly reducing player deaths. Then came the first floor boss raid — Diavel's lingering fear after barely surviving, the unlucky Kibaou trying to exploit the situation only to be counter-killed by the boss before its defeat, and Yuuki Asuna slaying the boss to obtain the Coat of Midnight. Morin stood at her side. Kirito, who should have had his identity as a beta tester exposed, did not leave the group but instead celebrated the victory of clearing the first floor with the others.

The scenes fast-forwarded rapidly. Still frames flashed by — Morin officially founding the Star Reavers guild, personally leading teams alongside Yuuki Asuna to conquer floor bosses, and participating in the Christmas event. The screen lingered longer on a few key moments: Morin and Yuuki Asuna's engagement ceremony at the church, their discovery of the amnesiac little Yui on the twenty-second floor whom they recognized as their daughter, the intense battle within the Black Iron Palace against the Grim Reaper boss, Morin's decision to modify Yui's existence to save her, and finally the pivotal moment when Morin exposed Kayaba Akihiko's true identity.

He had used a virus that could only be deployed once to disrupt Kayaba's GM privileges, leading to his own death as his last sliver of health shattered away.

The final scene froze on Morin and Yuuki Asuna reuniting in the real world, with Asuna leaning gently against him, her beautiful eyes brimming with tenderness and love.

As the last memory settled, rows of golden text appeared before him:

"Random Trial World: Sword Art Online SAO Arc!

Replaced Villain Identity: Sugou Nobuyuki

Trial Mission One: Win Asuna's heart;

Trial Mission Two: Defeat Kayaba Akihiko;

Both missions confirmed complete!"

"Sword Art Online SAO Arc storyline underwent significant deviation. Estimated total deviation degree: 67.39 percent!"

"You have altered the fate routes of the heroine Yuuki Asuna, Yui, and many supporting characters, and have also influenced the fate route of the protagonist Kirito!"

"You have obtained the basic permissions of the Villain Space. Free consultation within your permission range is available. Questions beyond your permissions will not receive a response!"

"You have earned three special lottery chances for the Sword Art Online world. In addition, your total influence on the SAO Arc has earned you 2847.8 exchange points. The additional influence on the protagonist Kirito has earned you 350 character luck points!"

"Hint: The exchange points can be directly used to obtain items from the Sword Art Online world. Protagonist luck points can be used to exchange for special or rare items!"

"The three special lottery chances are exclusive rewards for completing both trial missions!"

---

"I was almost directly confronting that Kayaba Akihiko guy head-on. Is this all the reward I get?"

Morin stared silently at the screen for a long moment before voicing his dissatisfaction.

It was a joke. He had truly put his life on the line during the SAO arc. On the surface, it seemed as if he had effortlessly outmaneuvered Kayaba Akihiko, but behind that facade lay staggering risk. Establishing the Star Reavers guild, gaining Yuuki Asuna's trust, standing up to danger — none of it came easily.

Dying in SAO meant real death. Scheming against a godlike figure who held all the advantages was no different from walking a tightrope hundreds of meters above the ground. One misstep and he would have ended up another brain-dead player.

Given the extreme difficulty and the ever-present risk, Morin naturally felt the reward in front of him looked a little stingy. These few thousand exchange points seemed far from enough.

"Esteemed guest, your rewards are set according to the standards determined by the Great Lord God. There are no errors or omissions."

The cold voice replied indifferently, leaving no room for debate.

"Then can I know the calculation method for the rewards I obtained in the Sword Art Online world? What standard is it based on?" Morin asked calmly, his eyes narrowing slightly. Instead of arguing with the so-called god who had dragged him into the two-dimensional world, he decided to probe deeper.

"In the Sword Art Online game, esteemed guest, you altered the fates of thousands of players and accelerated the plot progression, resulting in a deviation degree of 67.39 percent, earning you a total of 1347.8 exchange points."

"You successfully won Yuuki Asuna's heart and adopted Yui as your daughter, earning an additional 1500 exchange points."

"You altered the fate route of the protagonist Kirito, earning 350 character luck points."

After summarizing the primary sources of Morin's rewards, the cold voice continued:

"By completing Trial Mission One and Trial Mission Two, you obtained basic permissions to the Villain Space and were rewarded with three special lottery chances exclusive to the Sword Art Online world."
