Tearing Apart Submarines

The flames of nuclear fusion erupted from its mouth.

Ignited nuclear fuel surged out, guided by the magnetic field generated by Godzilla. In an instant, the entire Mariana Trench blazed with light, illuminating the pitch-black depths that had remained untouched by sunlight for millions of years.

The flames of fusion expanded outward, pushing forward and consuming the countless sea mines above Godzilla. The plasma bubble, hundreds of meters in diameter, swallowed the mines, instantly igniting them upon contact with its searing heat. Explosions rippled through the bubble, momentarily brightening the abyss.

Even as Godzilla ceased its breath, the ion spheres it had created continued to expand, occasionally contracting before surging outward again.

Boom!

With several cycles of expansion and contraction, the plasma sphere detonated, drawing in seawater along with it. The resulting force pulled numerous sea mines deeper into the trench. Godzilla wasted no time, unleashing its atomic breath once more, obliterating the trapped mines in a massive explosion. A new searing bubble formed, erasing the last remnants of the underwater threat.

Swinging its massive body, Godzilla floated confidently in the superheated waters.

"Eighty-nine percent of the sea mines have lost response. Suspected destroyed by Godzilla."

The fleet, positioned 30 nautical miles away, maintained a tight surveillance perimeter. Inside the command center, personnel monitored the data feeds on their panels, ready to report any changes immediately.

Commander Chester, seated at the center of the room, watched as Godzilla surfaced from the deep. He issued a new order:

"Send the nuclear submarines and unmanned submersibles to intercept. Keep them within range to provoke its breath attack, but don't stray too far."

"Yes, sir!"

The main fleet, aware of Godzilla's awakening, initiated the interception operation. In the depths of the ocean, hundreds of unmanned submersibles and nuclear submarines closed in on the ascending titan. Their objective was clear: force Godzilla to expend as much of its atomic breath as possible while still underwater, reducing its destructive potential on land.

As Godzilla surged upward, it detected the approaching threats. Abandoning its path to the surface, it turned toward the nuclear submarines, choosing direct confrontation instead.

The submarines and submersibles launched a barrage of heavy torpedoes, forming a dense wall of firepower ahead of Godzilla. Yet, the beast showed no hesitation. These attacks meant nothing—it still had more prey to strike.

Boom!

Explosions erupted all around, but Godzilla pressed forward, unshaken. As it neared, the leading nuclear submarines and unmanned submersibles initiated full-speed retreat. A select few unmanned units, however, remained behind, strategically positioning themselves just beyond the reach of a normal atomic breath—forcing Godzilla to use a charged attack instead.

So, they want me to waste my energy?

Godzilla understood their tactics. The humans sought to deplete its stamina by making it unleash its most powerful attack.

Cowards. Why do they keep running instead of facing me head-on?

An unusual phenomenon then occurred. Water began rushing toward Godzilla's back, forming a powerful reactive force that propelled it forward at an accelerating pace.

50 knots. 60 knots. 70 knots. 100 knots.

Still accelerating.

If they won't come to me, then I'll go to them.

This was magnetic fluid propulsion—one of Godzilla's many abilities. By manipulating the magnetic field around it, the titan propelled the surrounding seawater backward, gaining acceleration through reactive force.

150 knots.

Its speed now exceeded that of the most advanced human nuclear submarines.

With its immense body now moving at incredible velocity, Godzilla tore through the water, heading straight for the unmanned submersibles attempting to kite it. They were far too slow to evade in time.

A wall of water split before the charging titan as it crashed into the formation. Then, it opened its mouth and unleashed its atomic breath.

Boom!!!

A massive water column surged hundreds of meters into the air, debris from the shattered submersibles barely visible within the turbulent seawater.

The first team of unmanned submersibles was completely annihilated.

Without pause, Godzilla pressed forward toward the main submarine fleet.

"Godzilla's speed—it's at 100—no, 150 knots! It's heading straight for the nuclear submarine group!"

In the distant command center, disbelief filled the air. Godzilla's speed far surpassed all previous records.

The plan had been to kite it, luring it into wasting its energy in shallow waters. But now?

"How the hell are we supposed to kite this?!"

Commander Chester gritted his teeth, recalling Professor Andres' ominous words.

Infinite evolution.

"What's the distance to the main fleet?!"

"Currently 7—no, 6 nautical miles!"

"Have them disperse! Deploy the unmanned submersibles to draw its attention! If necessary, order the submarines to abandon ship and use escape pods!"

"Abandon the submarines?"

"Yes! The fleet needs to get as far away as possible. Now!"

It was a desperate but necessary call. Sacrificing the unmanned submersibles was the only way to ensure the survival of the nuclear submarines.

But Godzilla was not playing along.

Ignoring the swarm of submersibles harassing it, the titan surged forward at unimaginable speed. It dove deeper, cutting through the water like a missile, and closed in on a nuclear-powered submarine that had been launching torpedoes at its flank.

Godzilla reached out with both hands, its massive claws sinking through the submarine's thick steel plating. With a single, violent pull—

Screech! Rip!

The 100-meter-long nuclear submarine was torn in half.

Boom!

The onboard torpedoes detonated, consuming what remained of the vessel in a fiery underwater explosion. The wreckage disappeared into the abyss.
