THE FIFTH FOREST

~{INGRID'S POV}~

*

"Ingrid."

His voice kept ringing in my mind and I stared at him like I had fallen under a trance until he shut his eyes and groaned in pain.

Snapping back to reality, I quickly took off the jacket I was wearing and covered his body.

Opening my aid bag, I hastily took out some of the blended herbs which were put in a clean container. When I noticed there wasn't any bandage, I groaned in frustration and quickly tore the blouse I wore at the base, leaving me with a crop top.

Keeping it aside, I brought out the bottle of water I had gotten from the egg and carefully inched closer so I could wash some of the blood before applying the herbs.

He kept groaning and tightening the place at which he was injured and it aggravated me but I had to remain calm just for now.

With care, I helped him to a sitting position and his eyes tightened shut in discomfort as he kept gritting his teeth.

Couldn't he heal? I wondered to myself as I went into action.

I carefully adjusted my jacket over his lower body. Even though he wasn't aware of his nakedness, I was very much aware of it and my wolf was getting hot by it which was strange.

Why would I be feeling that way when he was injured?

As I poured the cool water over his wound, he gritted his teeth and gripped my shoulder as he struggled hard to restrain himself from screaming.

Everytime I looked at his facial expressions, I felt bad. If I were in his situation I would've screamed many times.

But in his case he couldn't scream. Why?

Because he was the dragon. The one my people and I were out for.

I looked around for anything to assist and luckily I found a stick.

"Bite on this," I instructed and he struggled to part his lips so I could place it in-between.

"This is gonna hurt," I warned ahead of time before applying the herbs and he screamed but since the stick was in-between his lips, it came out muffled.

"I'm really sorry… gosh, what a waste of precious blood," I nearly cried out for him and myself.

When I was done applying it, I carefully tied the piece of my cloth around his lower abdomen.

If I were a Beta, Gamma or even an Omega wolf, my lick would have healed his wound but as a Theta wolf, I was close to useless.

Even after dressing the wound, he didn't stop bleeding but thankfully it wasn't coming out with force.

When I looked at him, I found him calmly staring at me with weary eyes and it was then I realized he was sweating profusely.

He was so pretty and I felt like keeping him for myself.

"You truly came," he said and I blinked in confusion.

"What?"

"I called and you came," he struggled to say and I became thoughtful. He called?

When did he call?

And as I took my mind back to the start of my journey, I frowned even more.

There were times I heard my name. First I didn't know where it was coming from. It started right from the whispering leaves forest all the way to the Cursed Forest.

Wait! Was that him?

Whoa!

When I wanted to ask how he knew me, I stopped myself because his face contorted in pain.

"We have to get out of here," I said and got up.

I didn't know where to go but I was certain I could carry him.

Squatting before him, I carefully tied the jacket around his waist to cover his manhood.

"What's your name?" I asked since he knew mine.

"Flare," he dully said and I nodded before facing my back towards him.

"I'm gonna have to carry you, Flare," I said.

"You'll get tired," he said and I would've agreed with him but didn't.

If I use my human side I'll definitely get tired, which is why I'll be taking my wolf form.

He was an average man with a good amount of muscularity so it won't really be a big deal.

"One, two, three!" I counted before helping him onto my back and going on all fours.

When I felt he was alright, I immediately shifted into my wolf side and picked up my aid bag with my teeth before running off but in a steady rhythm.

The Rocky Forest felt endless but I kept going until I screeched to an abrupt stop when I found something challenging.

Before me were tall green trees with bushy leaves around it like a jungle, but that wasn't the issue. The bigger problem was that the trees were rooted on water. Water was everywhere.

And at that observation, I realized we were in the fifth forest, The Water Forest.

'You've got to be kidding me,' I said in my mind while staring at it in horror.
