wish part 5

"So, this is our clubroom, huh?" Odd muttered as he stared at the room in front of him. Above the door, a golden plaque displayed the name: "New Dawn Club."

After many days of struggle, they had finally secured an official clubroom from the academy.

"Yeah! What do you think of me now? I managed to find three members in less than a month!" David said proudly, clearly pleased with himself for securing their own space.

"Alright, I'll admit you succeeded… but I doubt we'll be here for long," Odd responded pessimistically. He was almost certain David had tricked some students into joining, so he wasn't convinced they would stick around.

"What's with that lack of confidence? You're talking all high and mighty when I did all the work. Remind me again—why are you the vice president?" David grumbled as he opened the clubroom door.

The room was completely empty, but Odd was taken aback by its size—it had to be at least 40 to 50 meters wide.

"This is huge. Is this really just a clubroom?" Odd asked in shock.

"Of course! What do you think the academy is? This is nothing for them," David replied smugly. Compared to the academy's enormous size, this room was indeed insignificant.

As Odd slowly inspected the room, he noticed two people already inside.

"…Are these the new members?" he asked.

"Exactly. I think you might recognize one of them," David said as they approached the two individuals.

One of them looked familiar—she was a petite girl with short blonde hair and blue eyes, much like David.

"Lucy?" Odd was surprised when he realized who she was. She was Lucy Garcia, David's younger sister.

"Hello, big brother!" Lucy greeted him with a bright smile.

Lucy was a first-year student at the academy. Odd had known her since he met David, and she had always called him big brother.

"How many times are you going to call me that? Your real big brother is standing right next to me," Odd said, feeling David's deadly glare on him.

"Hmph, he's just some brute who happens to live in the same house as me. He even begged me to join his club," Lucy said indifferently.

David winced at her words but didn't react too strongly—he was used to this kind of treatment from his sister.

"This is why you were cursed with short height—you're a terrible little sister," David grumbled.

"What did you just say?! My height is average for my age! And even if I were short, sometimes height can be an advantage for an assassin!" Lucy shot back quickly.

"An assassin?" Odd thought to himself. So she plans to become one after reaching the Beginner Rank… That's good to know.

A few days ago, Odd had researched something essential about the current Synchro World—specializations.

There were six specializations for Synchro Soldiers:

1. Predator

2. Strategist

3. Sniper

4. Assassin

5. Beast Tamer

6. Artist

In the early days of Synchro Soldiers, there was only one specialization—the Predator. However, over time, with the advancement of combat techniques, new specializations emerged.

Even some peaceful races had slowly begun adopting these techniques. As for the four hostile races, they hadn't developed at the same pace as humans.

Each specialization had unique skills and abilities, and as the name suggested, the Assassin specialized in stealth, speed, and elimination.

"Anyway, you two already know each other, but let me introduce you to the other new member of our club," David said, gesturing toward the large, dark-skinned man standing beside Lucy.

"This guy's name is Conquistar Mundo. He's a first-year student, just like Lucy."

Mundo smiled kindly. "Nice to meet you all."

"Is he really a first-year student?" Odd was surprised by the boy's height. He also noticed that Mundo was carrying several boxes. Odd leaned in and whispered to David, "You made them bring club supplies, didn't you? You're such a lazy president."

"This isn't laziness—it's teaching new students responsibility," David replied nonchalantly.

Odd sighed but then realized something was missing. "What about the last member?" he asked.

"Don't worry, he'll be here soon," David reassured him.

A few moments later, the clubroom's automatic door slid open.

"I'm here, President," a boy's voice called out.

The four turned to look at the newcomer.

He was a tall boy, likely the second tallest in the club after Mundo. His jet-black hair and dark eyes gave him a serious look. A white, triangular earring hung from his right ear.

"You're finally here!" David approached him and casually threw an arm over his shoulder. "This guy's name is Lor Jordan. He's the last member of our club. I found him during yesterday's training session and decided to recruit him since he wasn't part of any other club."

"Nice to meet you," Lor Jordan said with a scowl.

"He doesn't look happy at all. I wonder how David tricked him into joining." Odd thought to himself.

"Jordan? One of the founding families of Silo?" Suddenly, Lucy spoke up, clearly surprised.

"Yeah, even I was shocked that he wasn't in any club until now. We just gained a major talent," David said enthusiastically. He turned back to Lor and grinned. "You won't regret this, my friend. Our club is full of top talents. We're selective—we don't accept just anyone. But you? You're someone who deserves to be here."

"This is kind of impressive. Who would've thought this brute could bring in someone like him, huh, big brother?" Lucy said sweetly to Odd, who only nodded. He had no idea what they were talking about, but he was too embarrassed to ask—it seemed like common knowledge to them.

"Founding families of Silo? What's that?" Mundo asked, his face full of curiosity. Odd was grateful—Mundo had asked the question for him.

"Oh, right! You said you're from Dutscheb, so you probably don't know about them," David explained. "They're the three most powerful families in Silo: Jordan, Glory, and Servo. The head of the Servo family is actually the principal of Silo Academy, which is why they're so well known."

"I see. That means this guy is almost as important as Scarlett. How did David manage to trick someone like him?" Odd thought as he observed the silent Lor.

"Alright then! Today will just be an introduction to the club and setting up the room. After that, we'll begin club training. Unlike regular students, being in a club means we're part of the academy's forces. We'll receive monthly resources until we reach the Beginner Rank, and we'll need to train hard to pass the mock exams so we can participate in the Recruitment Battle at the end of the year. So, work hard!" David announced loudly to the club members—despite them standing close enough that he didn't really need to shout.

"Now, let's get this room set up for our prestigious club!" David clapped his hands to signal the start of work.

"Aren't you supposed to help us, leader?" Lucy asked sarcastically.

"I'm supervising you. That's the leader's job. Also, call me big brother."

"No."

"Mundo, divide the supplies and give most of them to Lucy."

"What?!" Lucy was stunned.

Odd couldn't help but chuckle a little.

"Well, at least it looks like I'll be able to get along with the club members."
