Fourteen-year-old Kamitsu lives a quiet, secluded life in a cabin nestled on the slopes of Mount Fuji, under the care of his elderly guardian, Jiro. Sharing this solitude is Serpent, an emerald-scaled companion born on the same day as him, bound to his soul and destined for greatness. Kamitsu’s life, steeped in routine and shadowed by the legacy of his parents and an unspoken prophecy, is filled with an uneasy stillness.
