Helena fired Avery, throwing her belongings out. She also fired Remy's bodyguards, making sure they couldn't find work again.
Then Julian announced, "I plan to marry Sophia to show my remorse. This was a mistake, we were drunk."
"Ok.. good" Master Harrison nodded.
Remy was horrified, "Dad, no! Please don't agree to this! I'd become a joke!"
But then he said "Remy, Julian touched your innocent sister and he has to take full responsibility for it, you should be happy instead and bless their union, they're getting married and it's final"
Julian condescendingly told Remy that maybe they were never meant to be together. "Remy, maybe it's for the best. Maybe we were never really meant to be together."
Remy's anger overflowed, and she threw her sneaker at Julian, hitting him in the face. After all these years that's what he sit there to tell her?! "I'm ashamed and disgusted that I ever considered you as a life partner! How could I have been so blind to your despicable nature? I hate you!"
Her dad scolded her, "Remy, have you gone mad?!" But Remy continued to rant, accusing Julian and Sophia of playing innocent. "I've gone mad! You guys have driven me crazy! What do you mean by this?! Is this some kind of joke?!"
Remy's father told her to apologize to Sophia and Julian because she had 'overeacted', but Remy refused.
Sophia spoke up, "You don't have to force Remy to apologize to us. In fact, we should apologize to her. Remy, please, we're really sorry."
Sophia's father praised her, "Sophia, you're the filial child, my very good daughter. I'm so proud of how you've grown... compassionate and kind-hearted. Remy should learn from you."
Remy had enough, so she left. Subconsciously, she tried to call Avery to take her to her room, but then she remembered that Avery had been fired. This only made Remy more saddened.
She rode her wheelchair back to her room downstairs. Since her accident five years ago, Remy's room had been moved downstairs because she couldn't walk or climb stairs.
As she entered her room, Remy locked the door and burst into tears. She couldn't believe her father had agreed to let Julian marry Sophia, just because they had gotten intimate.
Remy knew Sophia wasn't a virtuous woman, and she knew this wasn't the first time Sophia and Julian had done something like this.
Remy was maddened and saddened by her father's decision. "Who does that?" she thought. "They get caught, and it's fault? then they just get married?"
If she wasn't crippled they would have been crippled by now! She was so going to give it to them anyhow they wanted it.
As she sat in her room, Remy flashed back to the day of the accident. March 15th, five years ago.
It was a black morning for Remy, despite the sun's gentle rise over the horizon, on that fateful day.
She had stepped out of her house that morning to pick up a package from the post office, one from an anonymous sender.
As she drove, she listened to "Moonlight Serenade" by Ella Emerald on her earphones. Suddenly, a car sped towards her, its tires screeching. Gunshots echoed through the air, and Remy swerved to avoid a stray bullet.
But then another car crashed into hers, sending her flying across the road. Remy only remembered the car's plate number: "HTG-5432", it was etched to her mind. The driver, hidden behind the tinted glasses of the car, had sped off, leaving her for dead.
She was rushed to the hospital, Julian was abroad then and her family couldn't be bothered about her wellbeing, but she had always been self-sufficient, even though her accident had changed everything.
Remy thought Julian would visit her after her accident, but he didn't. He always had excuses: work, meetings, travel issues, and more. Remy tried to be understanding, not wanting to be a burden, thinking he'd come back to her eventually.
A year later, Julian returned, but Remy was already recovering. She could move around a bit, and she thought maybe Julian was busy before. But now, after what happened with Sophia, Remy realized she was foolish to have believed him.
She thought, "Who wouldn't come back for someone they love after a terrible accident?" Maybe Julian started drifting away then, or maybe it was before. Whatever the reason, Remy knew he was never really there for her when she needed him most.
The memories still haunted Remy. She remembered the sound of the ECG machine beeping in the hospital, the antiseptic smell, and the eerie silence. Remy's eyes welled up with tears as she thought about how her life had changed forever.
Helena's only half-hearted gesture was hiring Avery as her nanny and providing bodyguards, it had been a small comfort at least then.
But Remy had eventually discovered that some of the bodyguards were spies, planted by Helena to monitor her every move.
But Avery, Jake, Drel, and Axel had proven loyal, and Remy trusted them. They took care of her when she was still hospitalized, they had been her rock, her confidants, and her friends ever since. Now, with them gone, Remy felt lost and vulnerable.

Remy's mother, Adelaide Vaughn, died when Remy was ten years old. At the time, Remy thought her mother had passed away due to illness, as she had seen her taking medications.
But now, as an adult, Remy realizes her mother might have died from depression, possibly caused by her father's infidelity.
Six months after her mother's death, Helena and Sophia arrived at their house, claiming Sophia was Master Harrison's biological daughter. A DNA test confirmed this, and Sophia, who was nine years old at the time, became a part of their family.
At first Remy wasn't totally against the idea of having a second mom and sister, not because she didn't love her mom and can easily replace her but because she just understood things and was very accommodating.
However, Helena and Sophia never treated Remy with kindness. They lied about her to her father, bullied her, and Helena even physically abused her when she was a child.
Remy tried to defend herself, but Helena had a strong influence over her father, who believed whatever Helena said.
As Remy grew older, she understood the situation better. She mourned her mother's death and tried to move on, but the presence of Helena and Sophia in her life made it difficult for her to find peace.
Remy's mother, Adelaide, was a successful businesswoman who founded Vaughn Glory, a renowned fashion company acknowledged for its exceptional talent scouting and management.
Vaughn Glory became a leading agency and has launched the careers of countless successful models, building its position as a powerhouse in the fashion industry.
Adelaide was from a middle-class background and had big dreams of becoming a fashion designer and model.
After marrying Grant Harrison, she used her savings to set up Vaughn Glory, which became a huge success, partly due to her connections with Grant's wealthy and influential friends.
Adelaide's assistant, Alexandra Klein, was a loyal and trusted friend. Alex helped Adelaide build Vaughn Glory from scratch, and when Adelaide passed away, Alex became the president of the company.
Remy, who was the vice president, hadn't returned to the company since her accident. Helena and her father had taken control, limiting Remy's access to the company and making decisions without her input.
Vaughn Glory was the only legacy Remy's mother had left her, and Remy felt a deep connection to the company, she has beautiful memories of her mom there and they shared their dreams together.
But now, with Helena and her father in control, Remy wondered if she'd ever be able to reclaim her rightful place at Vaughn Glory.
