The Golden Boy Chapter 6

David was at a Warner Bros. board meeting in which the company's top brass were present

He knew that his presence there was not that relevant; he was only invited to listen and be in case someone tried to change something in the story.

"Ok let's start the meeting"

Terry Semel spoke and everyone settled into their seats

"The film will have a budget of 28 million dollars, half provided by Warner Bros and the other half by investors interested in the film"

Everyone nodded their heads in agreement with Terry Semel's decision

"A large part of the cast is already hired, only one audition will be held for the two main characters"

David was sitting in a corner with Martin Scorsese listening attentively to everything

He knew that Warner Bros would enter a crisis in the mid-2000s which led to the departure of several key executives including Terry

"I see that you two are quite close" Terry spoke looking at them both amused

"The boy is calm Terry and I also think that we will be very good friends" Scorsese would say while putting his arm around him hugging him like a father to a son

"Ok if there is nothing else to discuss this meeting is over"

David and Scorsese were talking not only about the project but about future projects

Martin Scorsese was one of the most respected directors in Hollywood, a man who was passionately dedicated to each film he made.

"Now the most important thing is to find the two main characters through auditions"

"It will be something simple, and we will both be there to find out who is right for the roles"

Both of them would stay talking in a café about various topics so much that they didn't even notice how quickly the time passed
