*Chapter 9: The Secret Garden*
As they walked off together, Emma couldn't help but wonder what Ruby had in store for her. They walked through the gardens, past the children who were still playing tag, and towards a small wooden door that Emma had never noticed before.
Ruby pushed open the door and gestured for Emma to go through. Emma hesitated for a moment, feeling a little uncertain, but then she shrugged and stepped through the doorway.
On the other side of the door was a small, secluded garden that Emma had never seen before. The garden was filled with beautiful flowers and trees, and a small pond bubbled and splashed in the center.
Emma gasped in amazement, feeling like she had stumbled into a hidden paradise. "This is incredible," she said, turning to Ruby with a smile.
Ruby smiled back at her, looking pleased. "I'm glad you like it," he said. "I've always loved this garden. It's my own little secret hideaway."
Emma wandered through the garden, taking in the sights and sounds. She felt a sense of peace and tranquility wash over her, and she couldn't help but feel grateful to Ruby for showing her this special place.
As she walked, Emma noticed that the garden was filled with all sorts of hidden nooks and crannies. There were small benches and statues hidden among the flowers, and a tiny wooden bridge spanned the pond.
Emma felt like a kid in a candy store, exploring all the hidden treasures of the garden. She laughed and exclaimed with delight, feeling carefree and happy.
Ruby watched her with a smile, looking pleased. "I'm glad you're enjoying it," he said. "I was hoping you'd like it."
As they walked, Emma noticed that Ruby seemed to be watching her with a newfound intensity. She felt a flutter in her chest, and she couldn't help but wonder if he was feeling the same way about her.
But as she turned to him, Ruby just smiled and looked away, leaving Emma feeling uncertain and confused.
As they continued to explore the garden, Emma couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder and enchantment. The garden was like a magical world, hidden away from the rest of the mansion.
And as she walked with Ruby, Emma felt like she was getting a glimpse into a whole new side of him. He was no longer just the charming and affable son of the family, but a complex and multifaceted person with his own secrets and passions.
As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the garden, Emma felt a sense of sadness wash over her. She didn't want the day to end, didn't want to leave the magical world of the garden behind.
But as she turned to Ruby, she saw that he was watching her with a serious expression. "I have something important to tell you," he said, his voice low and serious.
Emma felt a flutter in her chest, wondering what Ruby was going to say. Was it something about the garden, or something about himself?
As she waited with bated breath, Ruby took a deep breath and began to speak. "I have a secret," he said, his eyes locked on hers. "A secret that I've been keeping for a long time."
Emma felt a sense of intrigue and curiosity, wondering what Ruby's secret could be. Was it something big, or something small?
As she waited for Ruby to continue, Emma felt a sense of anticipation and excitement. She had a feeling that her life was about to change in ways she couldn't even imagine.
