CHAPTER 9

Time in Zephyra flew by, weaving days with the speed of the air currents in autumn, where the climate still retained the warm caress of the sun, but already whispered the secrets of the cold in the afternoons. In this scenario, Mina found herself immersed in the whirlwind of wedding preparations with Kyran , intertwining with the traditions and responsibilities of the Whittaker family as if they had always been hers.

Meanwhile, in a plot of intertwined destinies, Sapphire and Elara were summoned on a reconnaissance mission to an uninhabited planet, a place forgotten by time and memory. Through a transporter portal, brother and sister left the certainty of the ship to enter the uncertainty of the unknown.

Elara declared , her eyes reflecting the vast immensity of the jungle that held them. —How about we explore separately, Sapphire , and come back here in an hour with what we've discovered?—

The thought resonated with Sapphire as clearly as a calm lake. —Sounds perfect. But please take care of yourself. This place is an enigma, and the shadow of Belial could lurk around any corner.

Elara nodded, seriousness painting her face. —I promise to do so, and I ask the same of you. Though my powers still slumber, my will is ironclad. Any sign of danger, and I will call you with the LumiCom.

With a sealed agreement, they parted, each swallowed by the green depths of the jungle. Elara to the south, Safiro to the west, both walking in a world where the border between the real and the magical was fading.

As Sapphire made her way deeper into the dense jungle, the humid heat enveloped everything around her. The plants and animals, though harmless for the moment, added a touch of mystery to the atmosphere. In her hands, Sapphire held a device that had so far ensured her safety. However, behind him, black smoke began to form, soon taking the form of Belial . With a magical maneuver, Belial threw Sapphire 's body against a tree, hitting the left side of her head and instantly losing consciousness.

Belial , with a sinister smile, lifted Sapphire by the waist and transported him through a portal into a dark dungeon, where he left him under the watchful eye of one of his demons. —If he wakes up, let me know,— Belial ordered in a deep, authoritative voice. —Yes, sir,— the demon replied, saluting before positioning himself at the dungeon door, ensuring that no one entered or left.

Elsewhere, Elara was waiting for Safiro at the agreed meeting point. An hour later, her concern began to grow as she had no news of her brother. She tried to contact him through her LumiCom without success. A scan of the area revealed Safiro 's device on the ground, next to her backpack, all scattered and dirty. —There are no signs of a struggle,— Elara whispered , a bad feeling growing inside her. Determined, she grabbed her LumiCom and called the ship.

Elara 's image was projected through the HoloPro -3000 on the ship

—Your Highness, ¿how may I assist you?— asked a soldier.

—I need you to scan my brother's chip. Check if he is still on this planet— Elara ordered .

The soldier, after a few moments manipulating the ship's dashboard, reported that the chip was located on Talvoria , a different planet.

— ¡Talvoria!— Elara exclaimed , concern and determination mixing in her voice. Without wasting a moment, she opened a portal and transported herself to the ship to give orders to return to the planetary station Zenith.

Meanwhile, at Zenith Station, Dennis and Claudius were working over paperwork in Ashtar's office, adjacent to his lab. Elara 's call surprised them.

—Hey, Sis. ¿What's wrong?— Dennis asked, hearing the urgency in her voice.

—Hi... Safiro has disappeared— Elara replied, her voice full of concern and firmness, willing to do whatever it takes to find her brother.

—Sorry, I think we didn't hear you well. ¿What did you say?— Dennis asked, his voice filtering through the LumiCom with a mix of confusion and concern.

Sapphire is missing ,— Elara repeated , each word clearly enunciating even as her heart pounded frantically. —I think she encountered Belial . He's on the planet Talvoria now.— The gravity of her words filled the room, heavy as the air before a storm.

Claudius , with a serious expression, approached the board that housed the LumiCom. —What do you mean, he disappeared? If he had an encounter with Belial , he knows better than to confront that man,— he said, concern creasing his brow.

—He knows it well— Elara confirmed , her voice firm but tinged with concern—I think he must have been attacked from behind, because there were no signs of a struggle where I found his things.

—That's typical of Belial , he never attacks from the front,— Dennis added in a tone that mixed knowledge with disdain. After a moment, he announced, —Let's go tell the rest of the family to come.— The communication was cut off, leaving a silence that spoke of quick decisions and imminent actions.

Claudius murmured , letting out the fear they all shared.

—Don't worry,— Dennis tried to assure him, though his own doubts and fears clouded his words. — Sapphire knows how to take care of herself.— But the reality of what Belial could do to Sapphire shadowed even his faith in his brother's abilities. Sapphire , though skilled in hand-to-hand combat and weaponry, was facing a treacherous and ruthless Belial .

Meanwhile, Claudius was tasked with the grim task of informing the rest of the men in the family about Safiro 's kidnapping . The calls came one after another, each one an echo of the gravity of the situation.

That bastard must have hit him from behind, because my nephew wouldn't have let himself be caught so easily, — Rodrick said , his voice ringing with knowledge and a hint of pride. As Safiro 's teacher in the art of combat, he knew of his nephew's skill and bravery. —I've spent many hours training him, at his request. He wanted to learn everything about combat and war.

Sapphire 's determination , his thirst for knowledge and skill in battle were well known. But now, that same bravery had led him into a dangerous encounter with Belial . The family, united by concern and love for Sapphire , prepared for whatever came next, determined to face any challenge to bring him back.

Marcus tried to calm the tension. —Relax, Rodrick. We will find him and get him out of there alive. We know he will fight Belial with all his might.

However, Terry, with palpable concern in his voice, could not hide his fear. —That is what worries me. Belial will not be moderated in any way. And although my son has his power at a higher level than Belial , the latter is treacherous and can resort to any measures in order to win.

Belial 's wiles , added, —That's true. He won't leave Sapphire untouched. He'll try to break him in any way possible, appealing to the darkest, most hidden parts of his soul.

There was a palpable sense of concern in the air. —So what can we do?— Dennis asked, anxiety in his voice. —We have to get him out of there, whatever it takes.

That's when Kyran offered an intriguing perspective: Belial seeks to exploit the innermost recesses of the human soul, the darkness within us all, to use it against us. Perhaps, if we do the same against him, we can get Sapphire out of there. That would be the only way.

Ashtar's question reflected the urgency of the situation. —How could we do that? We don't have a weapon capable of doing that. It would take days, even months, to make one.

Kyran said , capturing everyone's attention. His pause was loaded with meaning, a prelude to a revelation he seemed reluctant to share. —There is something that…— He began, but doubt invaded him. The possibility of a solution, so close and at the same time so controversial, hinted at a path full of uncertainty and risk.

The room fell into an expectant silence, all eyes on Kyran . The proposition hung in the air, a glimmer of hope that defied convention. What would be so powerful that it could confront the darkness Belial wielded so deftly, and yet so troubling that even Kyran hesitated to reveal it fully? The answer to that question could be the key to saving Sapphire , but it could also exact a price from them that they had not yet considered paying.

—Go on with what you were going to say, son,— Terry urges, his voice husky and full of experience.

Kyran swallows and looks down. —I don't think they'll like what I'm about to say,— he mutters. His hands shake slightly.

Rodrick crosses his arms. —Unfortunately, to win a war, you often have to use dirty tricks,— he says in a deep voice. —So just say what you were going to say, even if we don't like it. One of our own is in the hands of that beast, and we need to get him out of there.—

Kyran takes a deep breath. —There is a way,— he continues. —It is not a weapon, it is a power that we all have in the family. Ætheris taught it to me, but only under the condition that I use it in an emergency and with great care.—

Claudius frowns. —And ¿what kind of power is that?— he asks.

—We have a higher power level than Belial ,— Kyran replies . —We can use the same resource he does: demonic power. But we must be strong so as not to succumb to that darkness. If we let ourselves be carried away, we could lose ourselves in it and never come out. We could even kill Belial , but we could also be a thousand times more ruthless and destructive than he is.

Ashtar pauses, his eyes lost in an indeterminate point as he reflects on what has been said.

—¿Is that what you mean?— he asks quietly, and after a brief pause, adds, —It would be like playing with fire.

—Exactly,— Kyran says seriously.

Rodrick narrows his eyes, as if the pieces of a puzzle suddenly fit together in his mind.

—Now I understand the words Ætheris told me when I fought Belial,— he murmurs, remembering that moment. —He warned me that I had much greater power, but that I must not lose control. I must always control myself, not let myself be carried away by rage or pain… He did not want me to fall into that dark precipice.

Ethan, who has been listening attentively, gives him a look full of pride.

—Still, you did not fall, brother.

Rodrick gives a slight smile, but a hint of melancholy shines in his eyes.

—Maybe because she didn't let me,— he confesses, in a softer tone. —When I heard her, I stopped fighting. If I hadn't… it would have been different.

A silence full of meaning falls over the room until Darius, standing with his arms crossed, decides to break it.

—Well, we know how to stop him. But now we must find a way to not fall into the same spiral of revenge, rage and darkness that he is trapped in.—

Claudius lets out a long sigh and shakes his head in resignation.

—We will have to take a risk. It is the only option. We don't have time… and we don't know how much longer my brother can resist.

The weight of those words hangs in the air, while everyone assimilates the gravity of what is to come.

The room falls into a tense silence as the characters prepare to face the darkness that is coming. The fate of their companion and the entire world hangs in the balance, and the decision they make could change everything. Francisco Javier, with a look of determination on his face, broke the silence that had taken over the room after the discussion. —Well, what we will do is the following,— he began, capturing everyone's attention. — Claudius is right, there is no time for prolonged practice. Kyran , you know that art that Ætheris revealed to you. You need to share that knowledge with the rest, so that we all know how to handle that aspect of power.

Kyran nodded, a mix of determination and slight unease in his eyes. —Yes,— he said, his voice firm. —I will teach you how to channel this form of energy. In fact, Uncle Rodrick has already had a direct encounter with it when he faced Belial . He drew out that darkness, but there are other ways to achieve it. Come, I will show you in the castle gym.— With a wave of his hand, he invited everyone to follow him.

The group, driven by curiosity mixed with the urgency of the moment, headed toward the gym. This was no ordinary place; it was a vast hall adorned with exercise machines along the walls and, in the center, a tatami mat that promised to be the stage for their learning. The light filtering through the high windows bathed the space in golden tones, creating a contrast with the gravity of their mission.

Once there, the air was filled with a palpable energy. Kyran stood at the front, assuming the role of teacher, a position that, although he had not sought, he accepted with the seriousness that the situation demanded.

Kyran began , looking around, —will bear witness to our commitment not only to the fight that lies ahead, but to ourselves. We must face this darkness, yes, but more importantly, we must learn not to let it consume us.

The tatami, its soft surface prepared to absorb the impact of training bodies, became the canvas on which they would paint their strategy. As Kyran began to unfold the knowledge shared by Ætheris , every movement, every gesture was imbued with a greater purpose. It was not just a lesson in the handling of a dark energy; it was a lesson in balance, in knowing one's own limits, and in protecting one another.

The dialogues between them flowed, sprinkled with technical questions, personal concerns, and yes, even the occasional lighthearted moment that reminded them that, despite the gravity of their situation, they were still a family, united by ties that went beyond blood or power.

Kyran 's guidance and with the spirit of Ætheris hovering over them, they prepared not only to face Belial , but to do so without losing what made them human, what made them strong. It was a dance of light and shadow, a balance between power and control, a preparation for the most important battle of their lives.

In the dim light of the dungeon, Sapphire was slowly beginning to regain consciousness. A sharp pain gripped his head, forcing him to put his hands to his temples in a vain attempt to relieve the pain. Noticing an unusual moisture, he looked at the palm of his left hand and discovered, to his horror, that

She was covered in blood that was pouring from a wound on the left side of her head. A pained look appeared on her face as she cautiously explored the injured area.

He frantically searched for his first aid kit on his belt, but couldn't find it. A fleeting memory flashed through his mind: he had probably left it behind on the last planet he had visited with his sister Elara . As the reality of his situation began to set in, he attempted to reconnoiter the place he was in. What little his eyes could make out in the dim light was discouraging: rustic lighting provided by a solitary torch on the wall, rough stone walls, and a dirt floor covered in straw. Confusion filled him. ¿How had he ended up here?

With a titanic effort, Sapphire tried to stand up, leaning against the wall to keep from falling. At that moment, the dungeon door opened with a creak that cut through the silence, revealing the imposing figure of Belial entering the room. The presence of the enemy filled the air with a palpable tension, foreshadowing a confrontation that Sapphire knew she had to face, even though the disadvantage was obvious.

—I see you're awake, boy,— Belial said , his voice tinged with dark delight at the sight of Sapphire regaining consciousness.

—It had to be you— Safiro replied , her lips twisting into a grimace of revulsion—You attacked me from behind, coward.

—There was no other way,— Belial replied , letting out an evil smile that did not bode well.

Sapphire conceded , keeping her gaze fixed on her opponent, —Because you wouldn't have been able to capture me so easily from the front and you would have lost.

—Ouch, boy, you sure do have a sharp tongue. Your kin must love you dearly for that,— Belial said , his evil laugh filling the space between them.

Sapphire remained silent, aware that his frankness often irritated his family. Belial watched him, sensing the change in his attitude.

—So it's true, they don't like you much because of that tongue,— Belial deduced , believing he had touched a sensitive nerve that could be useful for his plans.

Safiro said , trying to project strength despite the doubts that plagued him about his family's affection. Inside, uncertainty gnawed at him; although he knew that some members of his family cared for him, his certainty about the rest was vague.

—Let us see what you are hiding, boy— Belial said , advancing towards Sapphire with dark purpose. His grip on Sapphire 's neck was firm, a reminder of the power inequality between them. But Sapphire, remembering the teachings of her uncle Rodrick , tried to free herself with a nimble movement. She had learned well, although her body did not compare to her uncle's, her technique was solid.

However, Belial , anticipating the move, stopped Sapphire 's arm in mid-air and pushed him back against the wall. It was then that Sapphire felt a dark invasion, a power creeping into her being. Visions of unimaginable horrors flooded her mind: screaming people, raging fires, brutal murders, the chaos of battle, tears of despair, and the freezing image of a little girl on the street, hugging a blood-stained teddy bear, searching for her mother in the rubble of what was once her home.

Reality was mixed with terror, and at that moment, Sapphire understood that Belial not only sought to dominate him physically, but to break his spirit through fear and desolation.

Sapphire screamed in a voice that echoed off the dark walls of the dungeon, a mix of desperation and resistance. —¡Enough, enough, get out of my mind! — She struggled to recompose her thoughts.

Belial 's relentless advance on her consciousness at bay. —Leave my mind, get out of it, damn it!— she cried, as she felt Belial searching the depths of her soul and mind, searching for something that Sapphire feared to give.

At that critical moment, Sapphire strained every fiber of his being in an effort to free himself from Belial 's physical and psychic grip . Yet the darkness engulfed him more with each passing second, a sense of detachment from his own self growing within him, dragging him down into an abyss from which he saw no escape. The internal battle intensified until, finally, the darkness engulfed him entirely, and Sapphire fell into unconsciousness.

—I found what I was looking for— Belial murmured , releasing Sapphire , who collapsed inertly to the dungeon floor. —You will be my perfect weapon— he proclaimed with cold conviction, kneeling before the fallen young man.

You have so much pain inside, boy, and that will serve me to destroy your family. You will be the destroyer of your own blood—he said, his evil laughter filling the dark space.

The darkness that Belial had found and fostered in Sapphire was the piece he needed for his Machiavellian plans. —That darkness that you harbor will be the key to my victory,— he concluded with a sinister smile, standing up and leaving the dungeon,

leaving behind Sapphire , a fallen hero shrouded in the shadows of his own torment, now the unwilling tool of his worst enemy.

In the twilight of a world where shadows were as palpable as light, Kyran had become the unexpected master of a dark, yet essential art. Not only had he managed to teach his father and uncles, but his brothers had also learned to channel the darkness that lay dormant within themselves. This was not a darkness of despair, but a tool to confront Belial , without having to sacrifice their own inner light.

—I think this practice has you ready,— Kyran began , his voice vibrant with satisfaction. —What Ætheris taught me about handling my darkness, you have now learned. It has been an eye-opening journey.

Claudius , with a look of introspection, added: —This exercise has been revealing. It allowed me to discover emotions that I thought were lost, proving that they still reside within me. I now know that it is up to us how we choose to use them.— His gratitude was palpable, and a fraternal gesture from Kyran , an arm around his shoulders, sealed that moment of understanding and camaraderie.

— I hope it was enriching for you too, Uncle Rodrick — Kyran said , addressing his uncle with a mixture of respect and curiosity.

Rodrick , with a smile that defied age and time, replied, —Surprisingly, it has. I feared it would be an unattainable challenge, but it turned out to be an invaluable lesson.— His smile was a testament to the power of darkness when handled wisely.

Certain that he had found a new fortress, Kyran proclaimed, —Now we are ready to embark on our mission. It is time to go in search of Sapphire in Talvoria.

Determination echoed throughout the Zephyra hangar , where everyone was gathered. Terry, with a look that encompassed everyone present, declared, —It's time. We're going to free Sapphire from the clutches of that dark fate.

The echo of their unity mixed with the hum of the ship preparing for departure. Ethan, Claudius , Rodrick, and Dennis, who had remained in silent contemplation, nodded.

They were united not only by blood, but by a common purpose, forged in the shadows, but destined to seek the light.

So, in the hangar of Zephyra , the family gathered—not as warriors setting out for battle, but as guardians of a deep, dark knowledge, ready to face what awaited them on Talvoria , armed with a strength beyond light and dark: the power of unity and

determination. The adventure ahead promised to be as dangerous as it was transformative, but together, they knew they could face any challenge that stood in their path.

Darius , with a tone of authority that inspired confidence, announced that everything was ready for departure. —Let's go inside to begin the journey,— he urged, and as if on cue, everyone boarded the ship with a mixture of anxiety and determination. No sooner had he been sure that the last of them was inside than the ship set sail into the cosmos, cutting through the vastness of space at a speed that defied imagination. Francisco Javier, exercising his role with the serenity of a born leader, requested the activation of the Quantum Entanglement Star Traverser (QET), a device that promised to take them to their destination in a matter of minutes.

Once in Talvoria , the soldier's announcement — We have arrived, Commander — resonated not only in the space of the ship, but also in the hearts of each one. Francisco Javier, with a nod of approval, headed towards where his family was waiting, communicating the news to them. — We have arrived — his words charged with a new beginning.

Rodrick , with the haste of one who knows the importance of his mission, urged action: —It is time to deploy; we must go down.— It was then that Ashtar provided a crucial piece of information, a warning from

Elara: the planet, although uninhabited by creatures, was home to plants that they must be careful of. With a unison —Understood,— the group's resolve strengthened.

Ethan, with the fluidity of one who masters arcane arts, conjured a transport portal. The movements of his hands wove the necessary magic, and within seconds, a portal opened before them, serving as a gateway to the mysteries of Talvoria .

Already on the planet, Francisco Javier, always precise, took out a radar to locate Safiro using his tracking chip. —He is a few meters from here,— he said, indicating the direction of a nearby cave. Rodrick , always the most frank and direct of the group, could not contain his disdain when the subject of Belial came up. His eyes sparkled with a mixture of defiance and contempt as he prepared to speak, his voice tinged with raw and powerful emotion. — Belial ,— he began, with a smile that could not hide the severity of his tone. —That being believes himself to be a lord of the shadows, a master of darkness. But he forgets that darkness is not only a refuge for those who flee from the light; it is also where true warriors are forged. He has underestimated us, thinking that he can use the darkness against us. But he has not been able to do so.

What he doesn't understand is that we are like the stars in the darkest night: the more he tries to smother us, the brighter we shine. No, we do not fear his darkness. We will use it as a mirror, reflecting his own vileness back at him. Belial will find himself fighting a reflection of his own darkness, one that we have learned to master and use to our advantage. In the end, it will be his own shadow that devours him.

Rodrick 's determination was palpable, a potent reminder that though they faced a formidable foe, they were not without power. His comment not only revealed his contempt for Belial , but also underscored a deep belief in the resilience and strength his family had cultivated. They faced the darkness not as victims, but as battle-ready warriors, armed with the light of their courage and the darkness they had learned to master.

Without further delay, Terry took the lead, gesture in hand, pointing the way forward. The cave was not far away, but the path they were embarking on was more than just a physical journey; it was a journey into the unknown, into the possibility of facing the unexpected, armed with the knowledge and unity that characterized them. The mystery of Talvoria awaited them, and together, they were ready to unravel it.

Upon reaching the mouth of the cave, they took a cautious look around to make sure there were guards. They spotted two, but with cunning, they managed to distract them and enter without incident. Once inside, the beam of their travel lanterns cut through the darkness, deciding to advance in pairs to increase their chances of finding Safiro . If successful, the discovery party would alert the rest. Kyran and Claudius , remembering the previous rescue of Mina and Zara from Belial 's dungeons , headed towards the dungeons, sensing that their adversary preferred the depths to hide his prisoners. To their surprise, the corridors were devoid of guards.

—I don't have a good feeling about this,— Claudius confessed , his voice tinged with caution.

—Not me either, — Kyran agreed . —But let's take advantage of this now and be alert for what comes next.—

Sapphire 's cell until, finally, Kyran pointed to a door. —There it is,— he whispered, sharing a meaningful look with Claudius .

—We have to get him out of there,— Claudius determined , evaluating how to open the lock without attracting attention.

Kyran , concentrating his energy, made a precise gesture with his wrist and, as if by magic, the latch silently gave way. Upon entering, they found Sapphire unconscious, his figure lying on the cold dirt and straw floor. While Claudius guarded the entrance, Kyran examined Sapphire , relieved to see that his heart was still beating, a sign that for some reason he had fallen unconscious, but Belial had not managed to take his power from him. Carefully, Kyran lifted his brother, preparing to evacuate him.

Just at that crucial moment, Claudius reached out for his LumiCom , determinedly pressing a small red button. This action sent a discreet but clear signal to the other members of the team, communicating a critical message: Safiro had been located. The appearance of a red dot on his teammates' LumiComs acted as a silent beacon, a warning that would neither disturb the tense air nor alert adversaries lurking in the shadows. This strategy, ingenious in its simplicity, allowed the rescuers to coordinate without words, preparing to act with the unity and stealth necessary in such an extraction operation.

The ease with which they had managed to infiltrate and find Sapphire planted a seed of unease in Kyran . — Claudius , I don't like something about this,— he confessed, his intuition stirring with an ominous presence.

Claudius nodded, sharing the same concern. —I know, brother. It's too easy, and for Sapphire to retain her power… that's even more suspicious. Knowing Belial and his ambitions, it's unlikely he would have just let things go. There's something else at play here,— he said, his gaze fixed on Sapphire , who remained unconscious in Kyran 's arms . —I just hope there isn't something… tainted in him.—

—We'll scan it when we get there. Then we'll know how to help our brother,— Kyran suggested , trying to stay focused on the next step to take.

—Correct. For now, our priority is to get out of here. I'm going to open a portal,— Claudius announced . With a series of measured gestures, he called upon his magic, and within seconds, a transport portal materialized before them, offering them an escape route to safety.

They went through the portal and found themselves back on the ship. They diligently placed Safiro in an Advanced Rapid Recovery Chamber (ARRC), a device designed to speed up the healing process and repair physical damage, such as the wound on her head. It was a relief to know that, at least physically, Safiro would begin to recover soon.

Soon after, the other members of the family gathered around them, each carrying the same mix of relief at the rescue and concern for the circumstances surrounding it. Together, they would begin to unravel the mysteries Belial had woven, preparing to face whatever came next. The united family, willing to protect and fight for their own, was a formidable force against any adversity that came their way.

Aiden , his expression marked by concern, got straight to the point: —How are you?—

Kyran , trying to instill some calm in the tense atmosphere, replied, —He seems to be okay. His power is still with him. I examined him and he only has a bruise on his left side, but nothing serious, apart from the fact that I found him unconscious.—

While Kyran was offering details about Safiro 's condition , Claudius had retreated to the side, deep in thought as he stared out the window into the endless space. Absorbed in his reflection, he didn't notice his uncle Rodrick 's presence until he felt a hand on his shoulder.

— What is it you don't want to tell us?— Rodrick asked, his voice tinged with a penetrating curiosity that brought Claudius out of his reverie.

Puzzled, Claudius tried to disguise his uneasiness. —I don't know what you mean, uncle.—

Rodrick , with a look that unraveled truths, replied, —You are a very bad liar, Claudius . You always have been. You got that from your father, who also did not know how to lie, at least not to me. And now, you are doing the same.— His scrutiny was unavoidable.

Claudius , growing increasingly nervous, cast a quick glance around to make sure his private conversation hadn't caught the attention of the others, who were still focused on Kyran 's explanation . With a forced smile, he tried to divert the topic. —I don't know what you mean, uncle, honestly.

Rodrick, impatient with the evasiveness, hardened his tone. —Don't make me get it out of you, boy. You know I can do it, so you'd better speak up now.— The frustration was evident in his voice, a clear indication that Claudius 's persistent reticence only served to deepen Rodrick 's concern . The conversation, fraught with unspoken statements and tensions, seemed to be just the tip of the iceberg of something far more significant and worrying.

Claudius, feeling cornered by his uncle's insistence, sought a hasty way out of the situation.

—I'll go check on Safiro ,— he said, trying to find an escape from the impending pressure.

Deep down, however, he knew that eluding his uncle Rodrick would be a Herculean task. Rodrick had the tenacity of a bloodhound on the hunt; once he sensed something was amiss, he would set about unraveling the mystery with vehemence, leaving no stone unturned until he achieved his goal.

Though Rodrick allowed Claudius to walk away without resistance, it was not a sign of defeat but of strategy. He was already plotting the opportune moment to resume the conversation, a time when they would be alone, either on Zenith or Zephyra , and he could apply his unique methods of persuasion. Rodrick knew his nephew well, recognizing in him the same evasiveness that he usually saw in his brother.

—He is just like his father, but I know how to make him talk. Soon I will know everything I desire,— thought Rodrick , confident in his ability to reveal hidden secrets. Rodrick 's patience and determination suggest that, sooner or later, Claudius would share what he knew, under the calculated pressure and careful understanding of his uncle.

By diverting their course towards Zenith, which was closer than Zephyra , Kyran and Ashtar found an opportunity to provide Sapphire with more adequate medical attention in the infirmary.

Kyran began , turning to Ashtar with a look of concern.

—Tell me, nephew. ¿How may I assist you?— Ashtar replied, his tone full of willingness.

Kyran was quick to voice his concern. —It's crucial to determine what Belial could have done to Sapphire . Something doesn't fit about what happened in that dungeon.—

Ashtar, sensing the seriousness of the matter, asked, —Do you think Belial could have contaminated Sapphire with something?—

—Yes, exactly. It is not common for Belial to leave a victim alive without stripping them of their power. Don't you find this behavior strange? — Kyran could not hide his anxiety.

Ashtar nodded, sharing the concern. —I've thought about it, but I preferred not to mention it so as not to alarm the others. ¿Have you and Claudius considered it as well?

— Yes, we both have. I ask that you not mention anything to the others until we can verify my suspicions— Kyran requested , hoping to keep the group calm.

—Don't worry, Kyran . We'll keep this between us for now. We'll run the necessary tests on Sapphire to find out what happened,— Ashtar assured, pledging to handle the matter discreetly as they prepared to deal with whatever Sapphire 's analysis might reveal .

As Claudius made his way through the halls of the Zenith space station, he was surprised to feel a firm hand close around his arm, diverting him into a narrower, more secluded corridor. Turning, he found his uncle Rodrick waiting for him, his gaze unwavering in determination.

—But, uncle,— Claudius stammered, bewildered. —¿What are you doing? ¿Where are you taking me?

—It's time we talked, boy,— Rodrick replied seriously. What Rodrick didn't notice was that Terry had been watching the scene. Knowing his brother well and anticipating his intentions, Terry decided to follow them discreetly, prepared to intervene if necessary.

Rodrick led Claudius into a small room, a forgotten space filled with boxes and unused objects, where he finally let go of his nephew's arm. —Now you're going to tell me everything you avoided telling me on the ship,— he demanded.

Claudius tried to maintain his facade of ignorance. —I really don't know what you're talking about, man,— he said, trying to avoid the subject.

—Please don't act like you don't understand. I wonder if this hiding thing is something that's in your DNA or if your father taught all of you to withhold information. You're exactly like my brother when you want to keep a secret— Rodrick insisted, frustrated by Claudius ' evasiveness.

From outside, Terry listened to the conversation, familiar with his brother's tactics for extracting information. While he knew Rodrick would never resort to violence against a family member, he was also aware that he would not hesitate to intimidate Claudius to get what he wanted.

—Listen, man, I really don't know what you're talking about. You brought me here against my will and now I want to leave— Claudius said , trying again to make his way to the exit. But Rodrick , unfazed, cornered him against the wall, blocking any attempt at escape. The tension in the room was growing, a clash of wills that promised revelations or conflict.

—Now tell me what you don't want to tell the others,— Rodrick insisted , placing both hands on the wall, one on either side of Claudius , blocking any possible escape. His arms formed an impenetrable barrier, and the proximity of his body emanated a palpable tension. The cold wall and his uncle's imposing body kept him trapped, with no visible escape route. Claudius felt cornered, unable to retreat, aware that any attempt at resistance would be futile. After all, Rodrick was not only stronger, but he himself had taught him everything he knew about combat.

His uncle's heavy breathing and the firmness with which he blocked his exit made it clear that this conversation was not going to end until Rodrick got the truth.

—Okay, uncle,— Claudius finally conceded, knowing he had no way out. —You win. I'll tell you what Kyran and I discovered.

—Very well, I hear you,— Rodrick said , his attention completely focused on Claudius . But just as his nephew was about to begin speaking, Rodrick raised a hand in the air, a clear and decisive gesture, stopping the tale before it could even begin.

—Wait a minute,— he added firmly, as he turned and walked towards the automatic door. With quick, determined steps, he reached the control panel on the wall and, without wasting any time, pressed the button to open the door with a soft click.

—Come in, Terry, don't just stand there. You can listen in and be more comfortable,— he said, as the door slid open in a smooth, precise motion, its cold, mechanical efficiency reflecting the technological feel of the place.

—Damn…— Terry muttered, surprised at being discovered so easily, his attempt to hide behind the wall now completely exposed.

—Remember who taught you that technique,— Rodrick said , a slight smile playing on his lips as he watched his brother with a mix of pride and mischief.

—You always find me,— Terry admitted, entering the room with a mixture of resignation and respect for his brother's cunning. The initial tension between Claudius and Rodrick dissipated slightly with Terry's inclusion in the conversation, preparing everyone to hear what Claudius had to say had to reveal, a moment that promised to be both revealing and crucial to the next steps they would have to take.

—You're bad at lying and hiding, I know,— Rodrick said , his smile directed at Terry reflecting both mockery and affection. —But it seems the apple doesn't fall far from the tree,— he continued, turning his gaze to Claudius , implying that they both shared those shortcomings.

Terry entered the room, and with a final gesture, closed the door behind them, sealing the small group in an intimacy forced by circumstances. The tension that might have hung in the air slowly dissolved, replaced by a sense of inevitability.

They were there, together, because of the gravity of the situation, and it was time to face what was coming with openness and unity. The family dynamic, complicated but rooted in a deep sense of loyalty and care, was about to be tested once again.

Rodrick , with a gaze as piercing as that of an eagle, turned to young Claudius

—Now speak, boy,— he ordered in a voice that echoed off the walls of the room.

Claudius , his eyes fixed on the ground as if searching for answers in the shadows, nodded slowly.

—Okay,— he began, his voice barely above a whisper. — Kyran and I… we sensed something was wrong in the dungeon. Belial isn't one to leave witnesses, especially if he has power. But there wasn't a soul there, not a single guard. It was all suspiciously easy.— He paused, taking a breath as if each word was a weight he had to lift. —We think Belial may have implanted something in Sapphire , something dark and dangerous. That's why Kyran is opposed to Uncle Ashtar waking him. He wants to scan him first, make sure he's… clean.

Rodrick exploded, his fury as fierce as a midsummer wildfire. —And you weren't going to share that crucial information!— he exclaimed, his voice booming like thunder.

Claudius looked up, facing the storm

—It was just a hypothesis, one we still had to confirm,— he defended himself, while Terry, with the tenderness of a mother and the strength of a refuge, approached and enveloped him in a hug.

Claudius , overcome with emotion, burst into tears. —We didn't want to alarm you for no reason,— he stammered between sobs. —And I couldn't bear it if something happened to my brother.—

—It's understandable,— Terry said in a calm voice, his eyes meeting those of his brother Rodrick.

—Don't worry, whatever it is, we will overcome it as a family, as we always have— His gaze was firm, transmitting an unwavering confidence.

Rodrick nodded, though worry still crept across his brow.

—I understand that you wanted to protect Safiro … all of us,— he admitted with a sigh. —But withholding information can be more damaging than protective. That is something you both must learn.— His tone was stern, but behind his words lay a fatherly concern.

Terry came closer, his voice pleading. —Please, brother…

Rodrick raised a hand, stopping Terry's words.

—No 'please,'— he replied, her voice firm but filled with unwavering affection. —Every time you hide something, the damage ends up falling on you or our family. It is my duty to protect them, but I cannot do so if they tie my hands by hiding what is essential.

Claudius 's tears with a handkerchief.

Rodrick 's words . —It's better to speak the truth from the beginning. I learned that the hard way. Sometimes, omitting to avoid harm ends up being more damaging than revealing the truth.

—I understand,— Claudius replied , visibly calmer, —but we can't tell the others; the results are not complete and we might alarm them unnecessarily.

Rodrick nodded, his face firm as ever. —Okay, we'll keep it a secret until the results are complete. But I want you to keep me informed. If you don't…— he paused, looking at them both seriously, —then face the consequences.

—Brother,— Terry said, calming down and approaching Rodrick , —we'll get you the information in time, no problem. Just breathe... breathe.

Rodrick snorted, as if he couldn't take the advice so easily. —Easy for you to say,— he replied. —In the end, I'm the one who has to be figuring out how to get them out of trouble.

Rodrick 's arm in a conciliatory gesture. —It's true what you say. I know that your overprotectiveness is a firm wall against the family, but trust that everything will be under control. Whatever happens, we can solve it together.

Rodrick looked at him with a latent skepticism, but something in Terry's expression relaxed him. —I hope so,— he murmured. —When that report is ready, just send it to me or let me know somehow.

With an exaggerated, theatrical gesture, Terry headed for the door, opening it with a sweeping motion, as if he were on the stage of a great play. —¡We will! ¡Now, let us escape this room before our father mobilizes the entire guard in pursuit of us!

Rodrick and Claudius exchanged glances and quickly followed him down the center aisle, where the three of them came face to face with Marcus, who was looking at them with a mixture of exasperation and relief.

—¿Where have you three been? I've been searching for all of Zenith! —Marcus exclaimed, focusing his gaze especially on Terry— Get ready, because a storm of epic proportions is coming, with lightning, thunder and a deluge that would make any Greek tragedy pale in comparison.

—¡What happened?— Rodrick asked , confusion and discomfort showing on his face.

Marcus sighed deeply, as if he was still processing the facts.

—I don't have all the details, but it seems that a dispute broke out within the family. Francisco Javier and Darius got into an altercation, and Helena had to intervene to prevent the situation from escalating. I wasn't present, so I don't know the exact origin of the conflict. But this is going to cause problems...

—This is unusual,— Terry replied, clearly alarmed. —My father and my uncle have always been the pillars of the family unit. ¿How could such a confrontation have occurred?

Rodrick frowned, musing out loud, —They've never come to blows before. Something very serious must be going on.

—We should head to the infirmary,— he quickly suggested, taking the lead as usual.

The four of them, Terry, Claudius , Marcus and Rodrick , rushed towards the infirmary. Upon arriving, the scene they found looked like something out of a science fiction novel. Ashtar and Kyran were deeply focused on their monitors. One of the devices one displayed Sapphire's vital signs, while the other projected complex graphics reflecting spiritual emanations, all surrounding the enigmatic CRRA device.

—¿How is Sapphire?— Rodrick asked , concern evident in his voice.

Ashtar didn't take his eyes off the screen as he responded mechanically, —His vital signs are stable.

Kyran , on the other hand, remained tensely silent, focused on the monitors as if waiting for something that had not yet happened. Claudius , seeing his brother's concern, decided to intervene to get his attention.

—Brother, they are already aware of our assumptions about what we found in the dungeon,— he said in a calm but clear voice.

Kyran nodded almost imperceptibly, his eyes never leaving the data that kept appearing. —I thought as much,— he muttered. —We haven't detected any signs of contamination yet.

Terry, intrigued, leaned closer to examine the graphs flickering on the screen, his eyes scanning every line, every fluctuation. To his relief, everything seemed to be in order. Sapphire's spiritual spectrum remained undisturbed, serene.

—That's true,— Terry confirmed after a few moments. —Everything remains calm, without any trace of corruption or hidden anomalies.

Rodrick , with a blank stare, began to form a theory in his mind. Finally, he expressed what was tormenting him:

—Maybe the agent no longer resides inside him,— he said quietly, as if testing his words. —It could have spread like a virus, affecting the family in a more subtle way.

Ashtar raised his head for the first time since they had entered, clearly intrigued by the idea.

—What do you mean?— he asked with genuine interest, his attention completely focused on Rodrick now.

Rodrick took a deep breath before continuing, his eyes moving between the crowd.

—Think about it. Sapphire shows stable vital signs, there is no obvious contamination in his spectrum. But if whatever affected him was released, what if that agent is no longer in his body, but has begun to influence others, altering their emotions or thoughts? Like a poison that spreads slowly...

—Do you think that could have triggered the dispute between Francisco Javier and Darius ?— Terry asked, already following Rodrick 's line of thought .

Rodrick nodded slowly. —It's a possibility. Something or someone could be manipulating the family from within, using unresolved emotions or resentments to sow discord.

Kyran , finally tearing his eyes away from the monitor, looked at Rodrick gravely. —If that's true… we're dealing with something far more dangerous than we thought.

Marcus spoke up, explaining the recent upheaval: —A dispute broke out between Francis Xavier and Darius , so fierce that only Helena's intervention could quell it. And although I did not witness the event, Dennis related the events to me. The family is still recovering from the shock, and I doubt we will ever have access to a full narrative of the events.

Kyran and Ashtar exchanged knowing glances, as if they were conversing in the silence of their minds. —Perhaps there is something we have overlooked,— Ashtar suggested thoughtfully.

—Then let's start scanning for that missing piece,— Kyran proposed , nodding determinedly.

—But what exactly are you looking for? — Terry couldn't contain his curiosity.

—Something we didn't initially consider— Kyran explained , with a serenity that contrasted with the seriousness of his words. —It wouldn't be a traditional contamination, but, as Uncle Rodrick said , a type of virus. A dark element, perhaps intentionally inserted, that now hides among us.

The conversation became more and more enigmatic, hinting at the presence of an insidious evil that was woven through the intricacies of the family, defying logic and science with its subtlety. The search for answers had only just begun, and with it, uncertainty grew, further darkening the mystery that surrounded them.

Under the cover of a twinkling star, the atmosphere in the room grew tense, tinged with palpable uncertainty. After an hour of fruitless searching in the depths of Safiro , the team was faced with a riddle that refused to be solved.

—We must wake him,— Ashtar proclaimed, his voice an echo of determination in the gloom. —Perhaps, hidden in the veil of sleep, what we seek eludes us. Awake, Sapphire might reveal more to us through his actions, his conduct.

Kyran nodded, his serious face reflecting the gravity of the situation. —It's the only option we have left. We will watch their every move, alert for any sign.

—Then proceed,— Rodrick said firmly, taking responsibility for surveillance as if it were his personal crusade. —I'll keep my eyes peeled. Nothing will escape my attention.

Kyran cast a worried glance at his uncle. —Be careful. The unknown they've implanted in Safiro is a Pandora's box. We don't know what to expect, how it will affect him… or us.

Rodrick smiled a reassuring smile, filled with a confidence forged in countless battles against the shadows. —I have crossed swords with Belial and lived to tell the tale. Any danger that tries to appear, I will face it head on. Sapphire is under my protection.

Determination shining in his eyes, Ashtar approached the CRRA console, his fingers dancing over the buttons with surgical precision. The machine came to life, its whirs and beeps filling the air, and the door swung open to reveal a blinking Sapphire , disoriented but conscious.

— How are you feeling? — The concern in Ashtar's voice was evident, his eyes scanning Sapphire for any sign of discomfort.

— Safiro confessed , trying to stand up with a titanic effort.

—That must be because of the blow,— Kyran suggested, trying to put a normal tone into the conversation.

Ashtar assisted Sapphire , her support a beacon in the fog of confusion. —You'd better rest in your room. I'll come with you.

—Thanks, Uncle,— Safiro murmured , her gratitude tinged with fatigue.

With Sapphire and Ashtar out of the room, the conversation resumed between Claudius , Terry, Kyran , Rodrick , and Marcus, a mosaic of worry and hope.

Claudius observed , trying to pierce the cloud of uncertainty.

—The effects might take a while to manifest. Only time will tell— Kyran mused , his voice a whisper filled with patience.

—I'll keep him under constant surveillance— Rodrick promised , his resolve unwavering.

—Are you planning to assign guards to him?— Marcus asked, curiosity evident in his voice.

Rodrick thought for a moment before answering. —I'm considering the possibility of a discreet guardian following him. Safiro 's safety is our priority.

In this universe of stars and shadows, loyalty and courage wove an indestructible web around Sapphire , promising to face together the mysteries that awaited on the horizon.

The revelation cast a pall over the room, weaving threads of caution into the air already charged with previous tensions.

—Just proceed with caution,— Terry advised, his voice tinged with unwavering seriousness. — Sapphire has eyes in the back of his head, so to speak. You trained him too well; he's almost a ghost in the mist.

Claudius , with a smile that didn't reach his eyes, recalled memories tinged with adrenaline and danger. —I remember one time, years ago, when Sapphire proved to be a formidable, almost deadly adversary. Dennis and he... well, let's just say they left a lasting impression.

Rodrick , bewildered, inquired for more details, carried away by the stream of confessions.

In that atmosphere full of tension and anticipation, Terry cleared his throat, preparing to reveal a dark and almost forgotten chapter of the past. His gaze was lost in memory, sailing through the turbulent waters of those days.

—You know, there was a time when Safiro , still a teenager, gave me more than a few headaches. It wasn't just her innate combat ability that worried me, but how she might apply it,— Terry began, his words laden with a mix of pride and concern. —I remember that incident clearly… It was after you taught her everything you knew about combat tactics and espionage, Rodrick . Safiro had that thirst for knowledge, that determination to absorb everything she could. And boy did she. She became an exceptional student, surpassing even the most optimistic expectations.

He paused, collecting his thoughts before continuing.

—The problem arose one day, when he returned from university. Some kids decided it would be fun to follow him, harass him perhaps. They had no idea who they were up against. Safiro , feeling threatened, reacted. And his response was... lethal.

Terry frowned, the gravity of those moments weighing on him like a stone.

—It wasn't just a teenage brawl. Safiro disarmed them, metaphorically speaking, with a precision and ferocity that... Well, one of those kids ended up in the hospital for two weeks. You could say Safiro simply applied what she learned, defending herself, but the magnitude of her reaction was alarming.

The room remained silent, hanging on every word.

—I intervened before the matter escalated to legal proceedings. It wasn't easy, but I managed to prevent Safiro from facing charges. I had to move heaven and earth, and in the end, I decided to transfer him to another university to avoid further problems. I wanted to protect him, yes, but I also wanted to protect others from him. It was a wake-up call about the power in his hands, and the care we had to take in guiding him.

The lesson was clear: the tutelage they provided not only equipped Safiro with extraordinary abilities but also with enormous responsibility. It was a reminder that beneath the surface of any young prodigy lurked immense potential that, if not carefully managed, could veer into dangerous paths.

— That is why I say, Rodrick , that we must proceed with caution. Sapphire is not just a boy who learned to defend himself. He is someone who, when cornered, can react with an intensity and skill that few can match. We must always remember the power we have given him and ensure that he uses it wisely and prudently.

Terry's account served not only as a glimpse into the past but as a compass for the future, underscoring the importance of guiding Sapphire with a mix of love, respect, and, above all, an understanding of the depth of her being.

Rodrick said , beginning, remembering those days of teaching and learning. —I imparted all my knowledge to him, not suspecting the edge I was sharpening.

Terry nodded, his face grim. —Exactly. Your instruction was impeccable, perhaps too much so.

Rodrick absorbed the words, a mix of surprise and bewilderment marking his face. —That… never reached my ears. I thought he was preparing Safiro to defend herself, not to become such an unstoppable force.—

The conversation turned to the surveillance plan, Marcus chiming in with some pragmatic advice. —You better make sure Sapphire doesn't notice your guards. Otherwise, I fear you might find yourself short of volunteers.

Rodrick said , his mind processing the magnitude of the challenge ahead. —I didn't imagine Sapphire had such reflexes. Clearly I still have much to learn about him.

Terry concluded on a note of caution. —Beneath that apparent calm, Safiro hides a formidable warrior. You have trained him well, but in battle, his fervor is somewhat… overwhelming.

—Then I'd better keep an eye on him personally. I won't put my men at risk , Rodrick declared, determination coloring his voice.

—Just be careful,— Terry warned, concern clouding his words. —The intensity with which Sapphire fights can be surprising.

Rodrick nodded, marking the end of the conversation with a nod. —I'll take care of him. And myself. Now, I must attend to other matters.

Wishes of good luck resonated as they departed, each aware of Safiro 's uniqueness , a mix of mystery, talent, and untameable potential that, under the right guidance, had become a double-edged sword.

Sapphire 's bedroom , located deep within the Zenith planetary station, a tense silence hung in the air. Ashtar, his gaze fixed on the device in his hand, meticulously scanned the energy fluctuations emanating from his nephew's body. The data showed a disturbing normality, a calm before the storm that only fueled Ashtar's doubts. His mind circled around the dark tales that Kyran , another of his nephews, had confided to him about a mysterious dungeon. Lost in his musings, he barely noticed the change until it was all too apparent.

Suddenly, Safiro began to stir in bed, her face contorted by the terror of a vivid nightmare. —Get away! Get out of my brain!— she screamed with a desperation that tore through the silence of the night. Ashtar, startled, quickly approached, trying to break the barrier of sleep that tortured Safiro . — Sapphire , wake up. You're in Zenith, you're safe,— she tried to calm him down, shaking him gently but firmly.

Safiro 's reaction was instantaneous and violent. He jumped up, his eyes wide in panic as he clutched his head, trying in vain to silence the voices urging him to commit atrocities against his people. Ashtar put his arms around him, trying to convey some of his calm. —Everything is fine, you are safe now,— he murmured, but words seemed insufficient.

—Uncle, I can't stay here— Safiro sobbed, refusing comfort—I have to go, away from this place.

Ashtar frowned, confused. —But Sapphire, you're in Zenith, you're safe here.

—You don't understand, Uncle. If I stay here, I could... I could hurt them. My brothers, you— Safiro 's words were a whisper filled with fear—if I lose control, I could become an instrument of harm to all of us.

Ashtar sat up, his expression now grave. —Explain to me, Sapphire . ¿What is it that torments you?

Sapphire gulped, struggling to find the words. —I don't know exactly what Belial did , but I feel something dark inside me. Something that could push me to destroy our family. And I can't let that happen. I need to leave, before it's too late,— she said determinedly, getting out of bed to get dressed.

The room filled with a new kind of silence, one filled with decisions to be made and an uncertain future looming over them both, bringing their destinies together in unexpected ways.

—You're crazy, nephew. You're still recovering from the blow to the head; that takes time— Ashtar said with a mix of concern and frustration, watching Safiro prepare for something impulsive, perhaps irrational.

—I can't stay here. I have to go,— Safiro insisted with a determination that left no room for doubt, although her voice trembled slightly with emotion.

—¿And where will you go?— Ashtar asked, trying to inject some reason into the conversation. His tone was that of someone seeking to understand, not just retain.

—I don't know yet, but as far away from all of you as possible— Sapphire replied, her eyes avoiding Ashtar's. —If Belial wants me as his weapon, I won't allow it.

—I can help you,— Ashtar said, coming closer, a desperate gesture to prevent Sapphire from leaving the room.

— You can't, man. This is something deeper... Science can't help here. It's not something scientific; it's something very me, something you wouldn't understand— Safiro replied, her voice filled with deep sadness and even deeper resignation.

—¿You speak of that darkness within you? — Ashtar dared to ask, crossing an invisible threshold into a truth that Sapphire rarely shared.

—Yes, that one,— Safiro confirmed , and for a moment, vulnerability crossed her face. —You've always been the only one who understood me, in many ways. That's why I've always been close to you. Even though I know I'm considered cold, emotionless, and cynical, it's because I have a different vision. When there was a planet at war, that blood on the ground… that pain fascinated me. I never knew what was wrong with me, and I always fought to maintain that control, to not let myself sink completely into that darkness.

Ashtar then remembered a past incident, an echo of the darkness Sapphire spoke of. —¿You mean that time when some boys tried to bother you at university and chased you down the street?

—Yes, exactly— Sapphire nodded, a flash of that moment reflected in her gaze—Terry had to move heaven and earth, in addition to collecting favors, so that you wouldn't be locked up for it— Ashtar murmured.

Sapphire 's complexity and the depth of her internal struggle. Ashtar realized that this was not a mere quirk or a passing effect of her injury; it was the manifestation of a battle Sapphire had been silently fighting for years.

—Yes, even though I told my father I was sorry, I never was. I lied to him ,— Safiro confessed , her words laden with raw sincerity. —That power to disarm those boys, to hurt the leader of their gang… I enjoyed it. That was when I understood what was wrong with me. And Belial … Belial found it. He wants to use that on me to destroy our family. Maybe I am a demon, like him, and I could be even worse. I don't want to be the one to destroy everything they've worked so hard to build. That's why it's best for me to leave. I don't want them to look for me. When I feel they're safe, I'll come back.— With those words, Safiro finished dressing, ready to leave. Ashtar, understanding the internal storm that was raging through his nephew, stood still, not trying to stop him.

Heading to his laboratory, Sapphire collected a few essential belongings: documents, money, and most importantly, some devices designed to monitor his spiritual fluctuations. He was determined to understand and, if possible, master the darkness that Belial wished to exploit. —If this inner demon is mine, I will have it under control. I will learn to master it, whatever the cost, and I must do it alone,— he muttered to himself, adjusting the backpack on his shoulders.

Belial 's figure materialized before him, an apparition filled with mockery and disdain. —¿Do you really think you can escape my control, boy?— Belial asked , his laughter a chill in the air.

Safiro faced him, a flash of defiance in her gaze. —I don't know if I can do it, but I won't let you use me to kill my family.— Her voice was firm, though her heart was pounding in her chest. This was a defining moment, one that would define not only her future, but also that of those she loved so dearly.

—We shall see about that, boy,— Belial challenged , his voice dripping with venom. With a casual flick of his wrist, he unleashed torment upon Sapphire, who writhed on the ground, pierced by unimaginable pain. It was as if a thousand invisible needles pierced every inch of his being. —You will do as I command, and you will not leave this place,— Belial declared, coldly watching Sapphire writhe, overwhelmed by suffering.

I hope this has served as a lesson to you, so that you understand that you cannot escape from me. You will carry out my orders— Belial proclaimed , fading into the air as if he had never been there, leaving behind only the echo of his threat and Sapphire , still lying on the ground, fighting the pain that consumed him.

The tears Sapphire was shedding were not just for the physical pain inflicted on him; they were a reflection of a much deeper, more personal battle. He was not crying for himself, but for the fear of what he might do to his family under Belial 's influence , especially his father. He knew all too well Belial 's designs and the darkness he wanted to exploit within him.

Despite the desperation of the moment, deep within her heart, Sapphire made a silent vow: she would fight Belial 's influence with all her might . She would not allow the darkness within her to take control of her will. Though the path would be lonely and fraught with pain and sacrifice, she refused to become the tool of destruction Belial desired.

With every breath, Sapphire held on to hope and determination. She knew the battle ahead would be the most difficult of her life, but she also understood that the only way to protect those she loved was to face that darkness and overcome it, no matter the cost. In that moment of agony and revelation, Sapphire found a new strength, a new purpose: to prove that even in the darkest depths, the light of will and love for family can prevail.

After what seemed like an eternity of agony on the cold floor of his laboratory, Sapphire finally found the strength to rise. Despite the torment inflicted by Belial , his resolve remained firm: he would not be a pawn in this ruthless being's game. Still, the threat of Belial forced him to rethink his escape plan. If he could not get away from his family to protect them, he would take another path: remain on Zephyra but away from those whose presence could put them at risk.

Zephyra , with its vast territories and diverse landscapes, offered the perfect hideaway. Somewhere on this planet, Sapphire could find the solitude necessary to confront her inner torment and, hopefully, find a way to free herself from Belial 's dark influence without endangering her family.

With this thought clinging to her mind like a beacon of hope, Sapphire packed what she needed, adjusted her backpack, and headed to the ship that would take her away from Zenith. Her destination: a place on Zephyra where she could hide and fight her inner battle in solitude, away from those she so desperately wanted to protect.

The journey to Zephyra was silent, a reflection of the tumultuous storm raging inside Sapphire . As the ship pulled away from Zenith, she couldn't help but look back at what she was leaving behind,

Towards the family and loved ones he already missed. But this separation, this sacrifice, was for them. In solitude and isolation, he would seek a way to defeat the darkness that Belial sought to exploit, to return to them not as a threat, but as the protector he had always wished to be.

Upon landing on Zephyra , Sapphire found herself facing a new beginning, a chance to face her destiny in ways she had never imagined. Even if the road ahead was filled with uncertainty and danger, her determination to protect her family from the shadows was unwavering. The fight for control of her own being and for the safety of those she loved had only just begun.
