(Third Person POV)
Inside a room reminising an typical 21st century office building, a bluish white humanoid shaped being was seen sitting in front of a computer.
The being's gasseus hand reached out towards the mouse as the being scrolled through a document displaying the number 1000/100000 at the bottomost part of the screen.
"So if I choose to send a request for a reincarnator at a world I'm administrating and choose them as a host, the pros would be meta-knowledge and the thought process of a modern weeb, but since reincarnators tend to be uncontrollable most of the time, administrator's have no choice but to use a slavery type of system to keep things on the right track." Muttered the being.
"But if I choose a native, while they lack meta-knowledge or the creativity of a weeb, theoretically I could drop hints via quests or a memory package as a form of a system reward." The being then laid his back to his chair as he continued muttering in contemplation.
"But the merit points I need to spend to send in memories to a native is astronomical. It isn't worth the points.
Choosing hosts also costs merits. The better the potential, the higher the cost I would need to pay. While there is a no-cost random option, unless I plan to give them a power leveling system, the trouble might not be worth it.
If I want to retire to a good world or become an outer god, I need to spend my merits wisely." Minimizing the document labeled as "System Administration Manual for dummies" the being gazed at the newly opened application displaying the name "Teyvat #20496".
"Good thing my scope of administration includes some anime and games from my homeworld. At least I don't need to raw dog into some weird world I have no idea about." With a chuckle, the being spoke humurously.
"So, for my first host, I should choose a native with moderate potential.
Someone who has subpar luck so they won't question trash rewards I could send to skimp out of spending merits.
Someone who, with minimal merit spending, could become a powerhouse.
And most importantly, someone easy-minded who I could easily get along with." With a bit of excitement, the being smiled as he gazed at the screen displaying a youth covered with scars and bruises opening a treasure chest only to find some cabbages.
-----------------------------------------------------
(Third Person POV)
On a windy grassland, a youth with whitish-brown hair and green eyes opened a treasure chest.
"Lucky! Two cabages and 300 mora." Exclaimed the youth as the cabages and mora were covered with a red glow before disappearing in thin air.
Patting the red orb on his left waist, the youth continued walking while admiring the scenery.
"Ah, the smell of freedom and adventure. One day, I too will be a great adventurer like my dad's and the legendary Stanley." Smelling the fresh dewy scent of the morning air, the youth exclaimed as his fist was clenched as he made a pumped up pose.
Walking on the dewy grass, the youth continued on his adventure towards the direction of his daily commission.
While scratching his head, he muttered, "Looking for 6 Windwheel Aster's and Destroying Two Hilichurl Towers left. I should be able to finish this by noon. Then I can spend my afternoon seeking treasure chests at Stayfell Valley."
As the youth continued planning for his great adventure, a shrill scream reached his ears.
"Help! Somebody help!"
Stiffening up for a moment, the youth dashed towards the direction where the voice came from.
"Help! Someone, help! Aaaaaaaaa!" As the youth grew closer, the voice became more distressed as the sound of screaming, bouncing, and squishing could also be heard.
Crouching, the youth advance swiftly but safely, using the tall grass as cover.
A few tens of meters away from him, another youth wearing a full green outfit could be seen crouching as he covered his face and head while getting jumped in by two small hydro slimes.
The green-clad youth kept screaming for help as he stupidly decided to crouch and let the two small moving hydro slimes beat him up instead of running away.
After a brief scan of the surroundings, ensuring no other dangers lurked nearby, the scar-covered youth ran towards the crouching green potato as he shouted, "I'm going in!"
With his fist glowing red, the young man leaped into the air and smashed his fist into the ground. This action created a circular ring of flames with a radius of 5 meters, featuring a blazing thumbs-up logo in the center.
"Whaaa, flames! Help! I'm burning, Help!" With the increase of strength coming from the effects of the burning circle, the green-clad youth regained some courage as he stood up before pushing his rescuer towards the two slimes and then sprinting towards the location of a nearby town.
As the scar-covered youth landed his left foot on an uneven stone after his earlier jump, the push that would normally do nothing against him took him off balance, and his face came straight towards the lunging small hydro slime.
His face, illuminated by a red aura, slammed into the small hydro slime, causing a vaporize reaction that caused the slime to burst as hot vapor spread across his face.
"Ouch! That burns." The youth exclaimed as he stood up rubbing one of his hands on his eyes that got splashed by hot vapor.
With his free hand, he tapped the red orb at his left waist. A red glow appeared, transforming into an unremarkable one-handed sword with a dull blade.
With a swishing sound and an excited cheer of "Let's light it up!" he finished off the second small hydro slime, bringing the fight to an end.
With a heavy exhale, the youth muttered, "What's that guy's problem? He squats when being attacked, then pushes the reinforcement towards the enemy before running away."
"I'll remember this grudge!" He said humorously as he remembered a certain blue-haired girl.
"Anyways, no time to waste. A great adventure is up ahead!" He said in a pumped-up voice.
