Pretending to move-on from the past,
She scrolled through pictures, deleting fast.
Every image of him, she cast away,
Erasing the moments, come what may.
Pictures of golden hour, each moment are so divine.
Now vanished, and lost in the sands of time.
But one photo remained, and there a sight to behold,
Him smiling with long hair, so bold.
In his hand, a bottle of Jack Daniels tight,
A snapshot of joy, and a moment so right.
She froze in her place, with her heart heavy with ache,
Longing for the love she was about to forsake.
Tears welled up in her eyes, with a silent plea,
"Please, take me back," she whispered, desperate and free.
Regret washed over her, with a wave of pain,
As she realized her loss, her heart's refrain.
