Ursa knew the windbreaker was made from the finest material that would prevent him from getting sweated even on the hottest day in summer. However, right now, he could feel cold sweat drenched on his back as he saw what happened in front of him.
'Shit! This is a kidnapping crime! That should be Lawyer Hasan's daughter, right? This is bad… This is so fucking bad! I need to do something here!'
He had to hold back the urge to rush forward and confront those two men directly, knowing full well that he had no experience in fighting. If anything, doing that would only provoke those men and make things more dangerous for the little girl. Still, he had to do something here, yet he was stuck here, racking his brain so hard to figure out what to do.
'No, I need to get out first and find out who is their boss. If they wanted to take the girl as a hostage, their boss should be someone in trouble right now. I need to find out about it first before taking any necessary action.'
With that in thought, he slipped through the dark, going back to the entrance of the alley to open his phone. Fortunately, the alley itself wasn't that long, allowing him to stand there while also observing the two men from afar.
It wasn't hard to find who was their boss, though. He just needed to open the news website and search for the most scandalous person on the Internet right now, and voila! He found it! After all, Lawyer Hasan's name was big enough that he only handled the big cases in this city.
'There it is!' Ursa narrowed his eyes, trying to lower his phone's brightness so that he wouldn't be recognized here. 'So, Golak Mayar, a veteran council, is in trouble after using his position as a council to tear down six complex housing and evicting the people who lived there illegally just to replace it with his own factory. No one gave a shit before since the housing is for poor people, but in the last two months, Lawyer Hasan made some noises about it, and it seems he is doing a good job here.'
Yeah, even though there was no news or update about this case on the Internet, Ursa was smart enough to connect the dots. Golak Mayar would never stoop so low to the point of kidnapping a little girl if he was not desperate, so Lawyer Hasan must have pushed him into a bad spot. Still, knowing the cause was one thing, but figuring out how to handle it was a completely different thing.
'System, any idea of what to do now?' He asked, desperate. Fortunately, the system was kind enough to answer it.
[Host's stealth stats are at the maximum value, which means Host could sneak up on any person in the world. Just grab that piece of wood next to the door and do a surprise attack on the small one, and you will only have to deal with the other one. Run away quickly, hide, and lure him out to the spot you want, and do the same, and you've knocked those two down already. Easy, right?]
'Is it really that easy, though?' Ursa glanced at the piece of work close to him skeptically.
[You overthink this situation, Host. Those two are not some sort of martial artists, just lowly grunts who always like to bully weaker people but never dare to raise their hand to the stronger ones. They just rely on their big body and their willingness to throw a punch first to intimidate the other, but they don't have any experience being on the other side of a dirty fight. You can definitely take advantage of it and win this fight.]
Well, Ursa couldn't help it. This was the first time he was so close to a fighting situation, and honestly, it was so nerve-wracking. He couldn't help but overthink the situation in front of him, a lot of worst-case scenarios kept popping into his head. What if he failed and got beaten instead? What if he got captured? What would happen to the little girl?
As for the dirty fight part, he had never considered engaging in a clean fight in the first place. He knew he was at a disadvantage here no matter what the system said. But at least, after hearing the system's suggestion, he was less panicked than before.
'Okay, I can do this.' He took a deep breath, trying to shake off his nerves.
He gulped nervously, grabbing the piece of wood the system pointed out before walking slowly toward the man, his heart pounding in his chest. Even with all the stealth stats the system gave, he still put his attention on his walk, trying to move as quietly as he could. Just like what the system told him to do, he put his attention first on the smaller man, and when he was close enough, with shaking hands, he swung the wood and hit him hard, knocking him down instantly.
BRUGH!
"Wait, what?! What is going on?!" The big man was confused for a second as he witnessed his partner was out instantly like that. Before he could react, though, Ursa turned and sprinted away immediately. "HEY, WAIT HERE, BASTARD! WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?!" The big man roared furiously, starting to chase him down.
Of course, Ursa ignored the man's scream. He wasn't that stupid. He just kept running without even turning his head around, adrenaline pushing him forward. As he saw dumpsters that weren't exposed too much by the streetlight, he ducked there immediately, trying to blend with his surroundings once again while steadying his breath too. All the stealth benefits he got from the system would be useless if he couldn't stay calm and control his breath, after all.
"WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU, LITTLE FUCKING RAT?! COME ON! FACE ME LIKE A TRUE MAN!" The big man roared, and since it was a pretty narrow alley, his voice echoed so loudly there, forcing Ursa to cover his ears. "YOU DARE TO ATTACK MY COMPANION FROM BEHIND LIKE A COWARD, GET READY TO FACE THE CONSEQUENCES!"
Ursa took a deep breath, trying to calm down his nerves. Once he regained his calm, he crept out from his hiding spot, moving stealthily while also holding the same piece of wood he had used to hit the small man before. After his successful attempt, he was confident enough to replicate it, walking slowly like a snail to get closer to the man.
He was so thankful that the big man in front of him was a stereotypical villain, paying more attention to monologue while ignoring his surroundings. With so many openings he saw, once he was comfortable with the range, Ursa didn't hesitate to charge forward, taking advantage of the man's lack of attention before swinging the piece of wood straight to the back of the man's head, knocking him down instantly, just like the small man before.
BRUGH!
Ursa didn't know what kind of good deeds he had done in his previous life that made him so lucky. Usually, it was impossible to knock down a man with just one hit, and here he did it twice just in one go. This was definitely not usual. As the man stumbled and fell to the ground, he stood over him, heart racing as it was still controlled by his adrenaline. However, as he finally proceeded the craziest few minutes in his life, a small, satisfied grin suddenly cracked on his face as one thing crossed his mind.
'I did it, huh? Yeah, I fucking did it.'
