Ursa was stunned for a second, unable to react. Then, a lot of questions popped into his head, like how someone suddenly talked to him from his earphones, who this person was, what he wanted, what he meant by lending a hand, and so on. However, as nothing came out of his mouth, the person on the other side seemed to lose patience.
"Oi, Vega! I know this is confusing, but mind your situation first, will you?!"
That was when Ursa realized that he was still ducking under the stall that was used to sell scarves while being surrounded by Vahd Diran's people from every direction. As he regained consciousness, Urrsa ducked more so that the sound he made wouldn't be able to get detected and asked in a quiet whisper, "Who are you? How did you do this? What do you want?"
"Good, you are still calm enough to think rationally." Instead of answering his question, the person on the other side of the call said in a satisfied tone as if he was assessing Ursa's situation. "I hacked all the surveillance cameras close to the parliament building and saw you were trying to follow Vahd Diran, so I just followed you both from the security camera. I listened to how Vahd Diran lured you out, and I have to say that your stupidity knows no bounds. Who the hell is dumb enough to connect two phones with a call and sneak one of them to their target as a way to spy people?! You are so lucky that I managed to get through your phone's security and hijacked the connection to speak with you right now, or you won't be able to do anything about them. As for who am I and what do I want, let's just say I owe you something and this is to repay a favor."
A red tint shade formed on Ursa's cheek as he heard the rant from the person on the other side of the call. It was one thing to get criticized by the system since the system itself was a different entity, so it should have a different evaluation too. However, for another person to say the same thing was a different matter, and it somehow made him embarrassed a little.
Still, he decided to think about it later and thought about the information that the person gave in the conversation.
'A person owed me something recently… Ad call me Vega?' Ursa widened his eyes in realization. He was a smart person by nature, so it wasn't that hard to connect the dots. "Are you Lawyer Hasan or someone from his family?" He asked, hesitated.
He could hear something dropped on the other side of the call, and if he could guess, Ursa thought that it was him who surprised the man this time.
"… It seems you are way smarter than I give you credit before." The man said with the tone as if admitting it was a painful thing. "Yeah, I am Aliyya's big brother. You can just call me Hacker. So, do you need a hand or not?"
Ursa hesitated for a moment, not wanting to misjudge this situation. Even though the hacker had already said his motivation, everything was too good to be true, and he didn't want to fall into another trap again. However, as his chasers seemed to get closer, he gritted his teeth and whispered back, "I will be in your care."
"Good. For now, there are about 8 of Vahd Diran's people around you, so going out right away would be stupid. Wait, I will create an opening for you, and when I say 'go', run to the parliament building and turn left to the alley where you got caught by Vahd Diran before. You understand?"
"Got it." Ursa nodded unconsciously. Even though he didn't know what opening the hacker would make, he decided to trust that man since this was probably the only way he could escape from this situation.
After spending a minute in a tense silence, he widened his eyes as the sprinkler system planted on the ground that usually was used to water the plants and trees nearby when there were no people left suddenly got activated, catching the people there off guard.
Splash!
"Hey, hey, what the hell is this?!"
"The sprinkler is broken!"
"Someone, call the police!"
"Idiot! This is not the police's job! Call someone from the maintenance department!"
Ursa himself was also startled. However, when he heard the hacker shout, 'GO!', he knew this was the moment, and without hesitation, he jumped over the stall and dashed off toward the direction the hacker told before, not caring about the people who looked at him curiously.
"Hey! That's him!"
"Someone, call Mister Diran!"
"Don't let him get away! Chase him!"
"Two people, go to the other side of the city! Let's trap him in that alley in front of the seafood shop!"
"I get it!"
As Ursa ran fast, he could feel his lungs burning, screaming and asking him to stop. However, he didn't dare to slow down, let alone take a rest. Now, he needed all the energy inside him to fight for his life so that he could escape from this situation. Fortunately, Vahd Diran was still looking for him on the opposite side of the street, so this at least gave him enough time to run away from his chasers.
"Head to the right! There is an open alley, then after passing the newspaper office, go left!"
Ursa did so, making a sharp turn while nearly bumping into a startled shopkeeper. "SORRY!" He called while keep running. With a quick reflex, he veered into the narrow passageway the hacker told him before speeding up a little when he realized that he was close to the subway station. However, what the hacker shouted next stopped him from rushing to that place.
"No! Go back and blend into the crowd! There are at least three of that bastard's men waiting for you!"
Ursa stopped immediately, glancing at the station just to see three suspicious people that he guessed should be Vahd Diran's men. Those three either stood against the wall with newspaper covering their face, sitting on the bench with their head looking around, or standing close to the fence and seeing the people who entered and left the subway. However, as the subway was about to go, he gritted his teeth, dashing off once again with all the strength left in his body.
"Idiot! What the hell are you going to do?!"
"SHUT UP! THIS IS THE ONLY WAY!" Ursa roared as he felt cramped all over his legs. The three Vahd Diran's people were startled when they saw him. However, before they could do anything, Ursa took a leap of faith, trying to reach the subway before it could go.
BRAK!
Some of the people inside the subway widened their eyes in shock as they saw his acrobatic entrance. However, even though Ursa felt hurt all over his body, he couldn't help but grin when he saw the door was closed.
"So, I did it, huh?" He muttered. "I did it… I escaped… Hahaha... Fucking hell, this is crazy!" Then, he laughed out loud, venting out the distress he felt in the last few hours.
