Chapter 40: "A Siren's Song"
As Eden's tears subsided, he fell into a deep sleep, exhausted from the emotional release. Ayra gently released his hand, her eyes never leaving his peaceful face.
Olivia and Flynn, still frozen in shock, finally snapped back to reality. Ayra's soft voice broke the silence. "I can see you, Olivia and Flynn."
They exchanged a sheepish glance before entering Ayra's room. Ayra nodded towards Eden's sleeping form. "He's sleeping."
Flynn carefully lifted Eden, cradling him like a child, and carried him to his room. Olivia followed, still looking stunned.
As they left, Ayra began to sing. Her siren voice, pure and haunting, filled the room:
"Ahhh ah ahh ahh ah
Let go of your worries
It will tie you down
Break free from the burden
You are damn cold oh
People change
People die
We make mistakes
Don't you carry it all by yourself
There's somebody who loves you
Don't you hide that kid in you
You yeah
It's a broken toy
Don't you carry it all by yourself
There's somebody who loves you
Am that someone
Ahhh ah ahh ahh ah ahh ahh ahh ah ahh."
The song was a gentle breeze on a summer day, soothing and calming. As Ayra's voice faded away, the room seemed to vibrate with a sense of peace.
Olivia and Flynn returned, their faces softening as they listened to Ayra's song. They sat down beside her, and the three of them sat in comfortable silence, watching Eden sleep.
The darkness that had surrounded Eden for so long seemed to be lifting, ever so slowly. Ayra's song had been a balm to his soul, soothing his pain and calming his heart.
As they sat there, a sense of hope filled the air. Maybe, just maybe, Eden could find redemption and learn to love again. And maybe, just maybe, Ayra's siren voice would be the key to unlocking his heart.
