A New Beginning

The past few weeks had been filled with nothing but silent acceptance and quiet conversations. The marriage contract had thrown everything into disarray, but now… things had settled.

Ezekiel, Fleur, and Daphne had come to an unspoken understanding.

This was their reality.

No amount of frustration or resentment would change it.

Now, as summer neared its end, life moved forward.

---

Ezekiel sat in the garden with Alys and Daphne, both of whom were practically buzzing with excitement.

"Can you believe it?" Alys grinned, twirling a lock of her hair. "We're finally going to Hogwarts!"

Daphne, sitting beside her, gave a more composed nod. "It feels strange. We've been preparing for years, but now that it's actually happening…" She trailed off, her fingers gripping the edge of her book.

Ezekiel smirked. "Nervous?"

Daphne gave him a pointed look. "Of course not."

Alys, however, nudged her. "She's lying. She's been checking and rechecking her trunk all morning."

Daphne huffed. "I just want to be prepared."

Ezekiel chuckled. "You'll be fine. You've both studied ahead of the curriculum, and I'll be there if you need anything."

Alys gave him a bright smile. "I know."

Daphne merely nodded, her expression unreadable.

Despite her calm exterior, Ezekiel could tell that Daphne had a lot on her mind.

The contract, Hogwarts, their future—it was a lot to take in.

---

Later that evening, Ezekiel stood by the balcony of his room when he heard a soft knock.

"Daphne?"

She stepped inside, arms crossed. "We need to talk."

Ezekiel gestured for her to sit, but she shook her head.

"I just want to say this before we go to Hogwarts," she said, her voice steady.

He turned to face her fully. "Go on."

She exhaled. "I don't know what the future holds, Ezekiel. This contract changed everything. But… I want to make this work."

Ezekiel remained silent, allowing her to speak.

"I don't want to be just some obligation to you," she continued. "If we're going to be bonded by this, then I want it to mean something. I don't want to be some nameless wife you barely tolerate."

Ezekiel stepped closer, his voice firm. "You never were, and you never will be, Daphne."

She searched his face for any sign of doubt, but there was none.

Finally, she sighed. "Alright."

Ezekiel smirked. "You sound just like Fleur."

Daphne scoffed. "Don't compare me to her."

He chuckled. "Too late."

Despite herself, Daphne cracked a small smile. "You're impossible."

Ezekiel leaned against the balcony railing. "And you're stubborn. It'll be interesting to see how we get along at Hogwarts."

Daphne rolled her eyes. "We'll see."

But despite her words, her heart felt lighter.

For the first time since learning about the contract… she felt like things might actually be okay.

The ride to station was as chaotic as ever.

Alys and Daphne stuck close together, both eager yet slightly nervous about what awaited them.

Ezekiel, now entering his third year, leaned back in his seat with a sigh.

This year was bound to be… interesting.

Especially since Harry Potter was finally coming to Hogwarts.
