"O-Okay... enough?"
"The advisors are still waiting outside." After going in the offensive for who knows how long, Kurenai started to struggle.
She now understood that Kage level figures indeed had more stamina than a jonin.
Although she wanted to snake her hands downward, and pull on his excalibur to make her brother behave, she held onto the semblance of sanity.
She coldn't use that card, at least not now. They'd have plenty of opportunities in the future.
Her slender hands pushed against Natsuki's chest as a whimpering sound escaped her throat, each short gasp as if it took all her strength.
Any remaining sounds were swallowed by Natsuki's lips.
Seeing her brother's shameless behavior, Kurenai, instead of getting angry, grabbed his ears and slowly started pulling them upwards. They had to stop.
After a moment, seeing that Natsuki still wouldn't stop, she gradually increased the pressure.
Finally, Natsuki grimaced and released her.
"Hmph! How stingy," Natsuki grumbled, dissatisfied. "Those two old timers have been scheming since lord second's death. What wrong with them waiting outside for a bit?
"If they don't even have the patience for this, how can they be Hokage advisors?
"Besides, I just used the building's in built barrier. They can't hear anything we're doing in here."
"Get lost! I think you're the most cunning one here, to think you'd bully your sister as soon as you became the Hokage." Kurenai panted, straightening her collar. However, there was an imperceptable smile on her red tinged face.
Kurenai's voice took on a serious tone as he spoke;
"You've kept them waiting for almost an hour! You just became Hokage; you still need to rely on them for many things."
"Rely on them for what? Besides pointing fingers, what useful suggestions can those two offer?" Natsuki retorted, glancing at the mountain of documents piled on his desk.
After Orochimaru's attack, a large part of the village was destroyed.
There was the commercial street planning, resident resettlement, ninja mission assignments, preparations for the Hokage inauguration ceremony, countless tasks which he had to organise and oversee himself.
Being Hokage wasn't easy.
In the original story, after Naruto became Hokage, he took on everything himself, busying himself with paperwork all day long, even neglecting his children's upbringing.
One of the main reasons Natsuki wanted to be Hokage was to further leverage his chunni system, hoping to recruit more people to his organisation who could awaken new abilities to make himself stronger.
He wasn't here to work his ass off.
"Natsuki." Kurenai voice was firm this time, with not a hint of her earlier vulnerable self.
"Fineeee! since those old guys love handling political affairs so much, I'll just hand over those trivial, harmless documents to them.
"It just so happens that those are the most numerous and time-consuming.
"Also, Big Sister can help me here.
"Just looking at those documents gives me a headache. Wouldn't it be great if us two could sit together and work through this paperwork." Natsuki turned to Kurenai, his eyes glinting, "It's decided then, Big Sister will also be a Hokage Advisor.
"Your task will be to help me review important documents, you'll have no more dangerous missions outside."
Kurenai was pleasantly surprised.
This way, she would have more time to spend with her brother. A not so sane smile crept up on her lips, but she quickly shook her head.
"No, that won't do. I've never been in any managing position before, nor have I ever handled these kinds of documents. If I make a mistake, it could affect the entire village.
"Besides, I'm not the least bit qualified. The elders will definitely object. I'd better go out on missions.
"The village is short-handed right now. Completing a few more missions will also help you share the burden."
Natsuki rolled his eyes. "Come on, you going on missions is helping the village, not me. The village isn't as important to me as you and the Yuhi Clan are to me. Right now, the Yuhi Clan's future depends on us.
"Besides, you lack experience, but so do I. This is my first time being Hokage!
"Can you bear to see your little brother racking his brains over these documents every day and having to play mind games with those old foggies?
"Besides, I'm the Hokage now. If they try to stop me from appointing a Hokage Advisor, I'll quit! They'll have to face Iwa and Kumo's forces themselves."
Seeing Natsuki's serious expression, Kurenai's heart ached.
He was still so young, yet he was thrust into the position of Hokage. This was Konoha's most vulnerable period, and those scheming elders were clearly using his power to deter other nations.
They probably held their own secret meetings, never consulting him, the "little Hokage", on truly important matters.
"Alright... I'll do my best!" Kurenai nodded, her eyes firm. She had to help her brother, keep a sharp lookout, and prevent him from being taken advantage of by those old foxes.
"Alright, it's settled then.
"I'll remove the Barrier and open the door." Natsuki smiled brightly and took a couple of steps towards the door.
'He's still a child after all,' Kurenai thought, as she watched her brother's handsome face break into a childish grin.
Her heart felt as if it were bathed in sunlight. Hmph! Just now he was acting all grown-up, but now his true colors are showing. He's still my little brat.
"Wait, don't open the door yet! I'm not ready!" Seeing Natsuki reach for the door, Kurenai suddenly remembered their prolonged kissing session and that her clothes that were still dishevelled.
She hurriedly took a few steps back, checking her appearance.
As Natsuki dispelled the barrier and slid the door open, he saw Homura Mitokado's right hand raised mid-air, poised to knock.
Caught completely off guard, Homura stumbled, barely managing to regain his balance and avoid throwing out his back.
Before the old advisors could speak, Natsuki beat them to it. "Oh? You two are finally here!"
Homura's face turned purple.
A wave of frustration welled up inside him. He kept us waiting for so long, and now he acting innocent? No one in Konoha has ever dared to disrespect us like this. Just as he was about to lose his temper.
Thud!
A faint sound came from behind him.
"You... you..." Koharu Utatane clutched her chest, gasping for breath. She rolled her eyes and fainted.
"Elder Koharu! What's wrong?"
"Someone, quickly get the best medical-nin!" Natsuki yelled, feigning concern.
"Lord Hokage, the best medical ninja available in Konoha is Elder Koharu." Yugao Uzuki, appeared instantly. "I'll go get the second-best medical ninja right away."
As soon as she finished speaking, she vanished again.
Wait, come back! Natsuki only thought.
Thump!
And Yugao crashed into the wall again, reappearing at a corner a few meters away. She stumbled back, a hint of resentment in her eyes.
I forgot this Hokage speaks in installments. And he loves to lecture. What if he has more to say? I don't want to hear another bout of lecture.
"Why are you always so reckless?
"I wasn't even finished talking, and you just ran off again! How did you even get selected for the ANBU? And why did you runinto the wall this time, I didn't even call you back! As an ANBU, shouldn't you be more composed?"
As expected, the condescending lecture began.
The irony was that the youngest person present was the Fifth Hokage.
Yugao was starting to doubt her own composure.
"Take Elder Koharu to the nearest hospital. If she needs emergency treatment, it'll be too late by the time you go back and forth." Natsuki pointed at the unconscious Koharu on the floor.
This order made sense, making Yugao feel reckless once more. "Yes, sir!" she replied respectfully, then hoisted Koharu onto her back and vanished with a Body Flicker.
"Wait!"
Thump!
"What... what is it now?" Yugao slammed into the wall again, a lump forming on her forehead under her mask.
She turned around, radiating an aura as if she was about to awakened her mangekyou.
"Ah, nothing. Just be careful. Elder Koharu is fragile." Natsuki waved her away dismissively.
"Don't delay the elder's treatment."
Yugao vanished once again, fuming. She was chewing her lips so hard she didn't even notce elder Koharu's head hitting the wall as she turned a corner.
This interruption calmed Homura down slightly.
However, he still needed answers.
"Lord Hokage," he asked, gritting his teeth, emphasizing every one of his words, "what were you so busy with that you forgot about us?"
"Well, you guys left me with a mountain of documents to sort through," Natsuki said, gesturing towards the towering stacks of paperwork on his desk.
"And I'm not familiar with them, so of course I was busy."
Standing behind him, Kurenai, her face flushed, rolled her eyes.
She felt that Natsuki was actually quite suited to be Hokage; at the very least, his ability to lie through his teeth was impressive.
