Chapter 36: Unforeseen Changes

"I haven't formally introduced myself yet. You can call me Frank, Frank Castle." Frank stretched out his hand to Jason and said.

"Hello Frank, you should have paid more attention to what happened last time, otherwise I might have died. You should continue to call me Night Walker." Jason said after shaking hands with Frank.

"Okay, Night Walker. Have you had any conflicts with the Stanich family recently?" Frank's eyes became a little sharp.

"Why do you ask?" Jason frowned, not knowing what Frank meant by asking this question.

"I've been keeping an eye on a warehouse of the Stanich family recently." Frank turned his eyes to the direction of the dock area and stopped staring at Jason. "Their recent actions are a bit strange."

"For example?" Jason asked. "For example, their defense has been improved by several levels." Frank took out a pack of cigarettes and asked Jason if he wanted one.

Jason shook his head and refused Frank's cigarette. Frank lit one for himself and continued. "Do you know Red Water Security Company?"

This is a familiar name. Jason and Peter were secretly shocked at the time because of the power possessed by the Red Water Security Company. They could replace the police surveillance programs of most of Brooklyn.

This is not something that an ordinary group can do. As a megacity, the area and population of one district in New York far exceeds the area and population of many ordinary cities.

"I do know about Red Water Security Company, and I also know that they have replaced most of the surveillance programs in Brooklyn." Jason did not hide this fact, because hiding it at this time would not benefit either of them.

He was also very curious about the origins of this mysterious Red Water Security Company. "I didn't expect that they have such a strong force." Frank was silent for a moment after hearing Jason's words.

"I investigated the Red Water Security Company. It's a mercenary company under the guise of security." In the dark, only the light of Frank's cigarette could be seen flickering faintly. "The main business of their company is the mercenary business."

"Including providing protection to other companies in the Middle East, or clearing out terrorists near oil companies." Frank said lightly.

"And they have taken over many government projects, including urban security work in Afghanistan and Iraq. The US government outsources everything to them." Frank finished the last puff of his cigarette and said.

"Recently, I think that mercenaries from the Red Water Security Company have been added to the Stanich family's defense force. Their equipment and training are obviously better, and most of them have been on the battlefield!"

Jason was somewhat silent after hearing what Frank said. This should be the change brought about by the last time he and Peter cleared the drug trading point in the underground garage.

The Stanich family became more cautious, and what role did Red Water Security Company play in this matter? Things became more and more complicated, and Jason began to feel overwhelmed.

"Frank, do you know that there are mutants in the Red Water Security Company? Or modified mutants." Jason suddenly had a hunch that the invisible mutant he met in the underground garage last time was from the Red Water Security Company?

"Mutants? That's not that easy to find out." Frank said uncertainly.

"I met a mutant before when I was dealing with an underground trading point of the Stanich family." Jason then told about his last encounter in the underground garage.

"The mutant you mentioned is most likely from Redwater Security." Frank also believed that the mutant was from Redwater Security. He had been tracking the Stanich family for several months and had not found any signs of mutants in their family. "Maybe there are other mutants coming along, maybe specifically to deal with us."

"Why do you want to provoke the Stanich family? I remember I told you last time that this family is not easy to mess with." Frank asked Jason about his purpose.

Jason couldn't say that he was doing it for the mission, so he said, "Do you think I'm a good guy who suffered a loss and was almost killed by them, but I pretended that nothing happened and let them go?"

"Humph~ a tooth for a tooth." Frank's zombie face seemed to have a smile on it.

"An eye for an eye." Jason continued Frank's words and finished the sentence.

"Here is my contact information. The code is to knock the microphone three times, three short and one long." Frank left a contact number to Jason, and Jason also gave his contact number to Frank. "Keep in touch. I will notify you if there is any unusual movement in the Stanich family."

Jason watched Frank leave. He had never thought that he would wade into such deep muddy water. Now even if he wanted to withdraw, it might not be possible.

Inside the Osborne Group the next afternoon.

"I heard that the experiment was successful." Tim, the CEO of Osborne Group, asked in Dr. Connors' office.

"Yes, both experimental mice are healthy now." Dr. Connors said with some pride.

"Then start human trials immediately." Tim was not interested in experiments on mice; what he needed was data from human trials.

"What? No!" Dr. Connors couldn't believe Tim's decision. "We just started the live experiment not long ago! We don't know whether it will be harmful to the human body!"

"We need more test data to verify, and where can we find volunteers for the experiment!" Dr. Connors did not want to conduct human experiments so simply and hastily, because it could easily lead to irreversible and terrible consequences.

"Volunteers? Just go to the VA hospital. Doctor, you have to understand that we don't have time!" Tim's words were cold and cruel. "Norman Osborn 's life is coming to an end!"

"Tim! You have to know that no one can avoid death, except God." Dr. Connors is still trying to persuade Tim. "Even Norman Osborn is no exception. He can't save himself at the cost of other people's lives!"

"Doctor, I think you need to rest for a while. I will temporarily relieve you of all your positions in the Osborn Group. You can resume your duties after you understand everything. I will then provide you with enough human test data." Tim made his decision without any emotion.

Tim took an injection of serum and left Dr. Connors' laboratory. Peter Parker, who was in the observation room of the laboratory, didn't know what had just happened.

Peter focused his full attention on observing the experimental data.

"Renny, prepare a car for me. I 'm going to the Disabled Veterans Hospital." Tim walked into his office and casually instructed his assistant.

"Oh, Mr. Tim, this is the case. Mr. Harry Osborn will hold a hearing in ten minutes." Tim's confidant Rennie said. "Mr. Harry has instructed you to attend the meeting."

Under Jason's suggestion, Harry relied on Norman Osborn's prestige to gradually resolve various obstacles within the Osborn Group. He has obtained some rights within the group and also gained the support of some shareholders.

Harry is no longer tied down in the company like before, and now he has started to lead a separate project on his own, which is a project about the US military's single-soldier flying vehicle.

If the project is realized, potential buyers will not only include the United States, but also many of its allies. It can be said that this is a project with very broad prospects.

He is planning to hold a new hearing today to resolve the differences and constraints among shareholders so that the implementation of the project can be smoother.

As Tim is Harry's strong support within the company, Harry must let him attend the hearing. After all, as the executive president, Tim's words carry considerable weight within the group.

"Okay, Rennie, I've got a mission for you." Tim handed the suitcase with the serum to Tim. "Go to the Disabled Veterans Hospital and find Dr. Sean. He'll know what you need him to do."

"Understood, sir." Rennie did not ask what was in the box, nor did he ask why he was looking for Dr. Sean. This is what a good confidant should do. As long as the boss doesn't say anything, don't ask any more questions, just do everything the boss asks.

Dr. Connors sat in his office dejectedly for who knows how long he had been sitting there, with a test serum in front of him. How could he conduct human trials when the test serum had not yet been proven to be completely reliable?

Even if human trials are to be conducted, they must be conducted on volunteers who have signed their consent, not disabled veterans who are kept in the dark.

Dr. Connors was in agony, as if he had made a difficult decision. Connors picked up the serum in front of him and prepared to experiment on himself. Come on, science requires a little dedication! Dr. Connors roared to himself in his heart.

"Oh~! No! Doctor, are you crazy?" Just when Dr. Connors was about to inject the serum into his body, Peter suddenly appeared in Dr. Connors' office.

Peter snatched Dr. Connors' serum and said in a bad tone, "Doctor, there may be something wrong with our serum."

What Jason said to Peter changed the fate of Dr. Connors, but his previous idea to help Harry also changed the fate of the Osborn Group.

Originally, Peter should not have appeared at this time to stop Dr. Connors from injecting the serum, and Harry should have been caught up in the power struggle of the board of directors and had no time to summon Tim to attend the hearing on the new project.

The story now has slipped into a direction that Jason had never thought of.
