Parent-Child Activities in Kindergarten

Chapter 7: Parent-Child Activities in Kindergarten

Liu Meier followed behind Xiao Cheng, her face flushed with embarrassment.

As soon as Xiao Cheng opened the door to the room, Sisi let out a delighted gasp.

"Wow! What a beautiful room!"

"As long as Sisi likes it," Xiao Cheng said with a gentle smile.

"Sisi loves it! Really, really loves it! Papa is the best!" Sisi beamed, hugging Xiao Cheng tightly before planting a big kiss on his cheek.

Liu Meier, stepping forward, finally got a clear look at the room.

It wasn't very large, but the soft pink décor radiated warmth and charm. The entire space was filled with a sense of childlike wonder.

Even Liu Meier couldn't help but feel a twinge of longing—she had dreamed of having a room like this when she was a child.

"This bed," Xiao Cheng explained, "I personally reinforced it to make sure Sisi can never fall out. Here, she can watch the stars before bed. Over here is a screen designed to play cartoons without straining her eyes. And this… and this…"

He continued introducing each thoughtful detail with genuine care.

Liu Meier stood frozen in place.

This man… was so attentive, so meticulous in his care for Sisi.

How could she possibly find a reason to take Sisi away from him?

"Mr. Xiao, there's no need to say anything more," Liu Meier finally said, her voice filled with conviction. "You are fully capable of taking care of Sisi. I'll be leaving now."

Without waiting for a response, she turned and hurried away.

"Hey—" Xiao Cheng called out, but she was already gone.

He chuckled to himself. Shen Jiaoyue, is this really the best trick you've got?

Meanwhile, Sisi blinked up at him, confused.

"Papa, what's wrong with Aunt Liu?"

Xiao Cheng ruffled her hair. "She didn't complete the task that Mama gave her, so she's a little upset."

"A task from Mama? What task?" Sisi asked, tilting her head.

Xiao Cheng simply smiled and didn't answer.

Back in her car, Liu Meier dialed Shen Jiaoyue's number.

"Miss Shen, I'm sorry. I couldn't complete the task you assigned me," she admitted. "Mr. Xiao is… such a perfect man. I have no excuse to take Sisi away from him."

On the other end, Shen Jiaoyue was stunned.

Liu Meier had been by her side for over ten years, never once letting her down.

Yet today, because of this man, she had failed?

"What exactly happened? What about Xiao Cheng convinced you?" Shen Jiaoyue asked, frowning.

"Everything… none of it," Liu Meier answered without hesitation.

"Huh?" Shen Jiaoyue was utterly baffled. Was this really the same Liu Meier she knew?

"Forget it," she sighed. "I can't leave right now. Just leave Sisi there for the time being. Come back first—I'll bring Sisi back in a few days."

That night, Xiao Cheng carefully bathed Sisi, tucked her into bed, and read her two fairy tales.

Sisi soon drifted off into a sweet sleep.

As Xiao Cheng quietly left her room, his phone buzzed with a message from Shen Jiaoyue.

"If Sisi suffers even the slightest grievance, I, Shen Jiaoyue, will not forgive you. Also, the kindergarten has a parent-child activity tomorrow. I'm too busy, so you'll have to attend in my place. The kindergarten address is: …"

Xiao Cheng shook his head with a helpless smile.

"This woman…"

Back in his room, he casually scrolled through his phone, searching for something.

After a while, he found what he was looking for—a small winery company seeking angel investors to expand its business.

Xiao Cheng did some research.

The winery was outdated, small-scale, and had no real competitiveness.

But that didn't matter to him.

He left his contact information and address, offering to invest, and told them to meet him in person. Then he turned off his phone.

This was a test.

According to his theory, as long as he invested in a project, he would receive the highest possible investment return.

Since this was just a small winery, it wouldn't cost much. Worst case scenario, he'd lose a little money—but with his bank balance now reaching nine figures, that was hardly a concern.

The next morning, Xiao Cheng woke Sisi up right on time.

After helping her get dressed, washed up, and fed, he took her out and boarded the subway.

"Sisi, today your kindergarten has a parent-child activity," Xiao Cheng told her as he carried her on his back. "Papa will go with you."

"Yay! Yay! Yay!" Sisi cheered excitedly. "Mama was always too busy before. All the other kids had their parents with them, but Sisi didn't. It's great to have Papa this time!"

After getting off the subway, Xiao Cheng carried Sisi for another ten minutes before they arrived at the kindergarten.

Since Sisi was sitting high on his shoulders, she stood out immediately.

Many children noticed her from afar.

"Sisi, who's that?" a female teacher greeted her curiously.

"Hello, Teacher Chu! This is my Papa. He's here to bring me to school and join the activity today!" Sisi replied politely.

Xiao Cheng gently lifted Sisi off his shoulders and set her down.

Teacher Chu gave Xiao Cheng a once-over.

His casual attire made him look like an ordinary street vendor.

Her expression instantly turned cold.

"Good to know," she said stiffly. "Parents, please move to the back and wait. Once everyone has arrived, we'll begin the activity."

Xiao Cheng smiled inwardly but remained calm.

"Sisi, Papa will be in the back. Be good and stay in your seat."

"Okay, Papa!" Sisi nodded obediently.

As soon as Xiao Cheng left, a group of children gathered around Sisi.

"Sisi, is that really your daddy?"

"Why does he dress so poorly?" a boy snickered. "I heard my dad call people like him a… what was it? A d**k, right?"

"Hahaha! A dk! Sisi's dad is a dk!"

The group burst into laughter.

"You're not allowed to talk about Papa like that!" Sisi glared at them. "Papa is amazing!"

"Amazing? What car does he drive?"

"Why would he drive? We took the subway."

"The subway? Hahahaha!"

Sisi frowned, choosing to ignore them.

Xiao Cheng, sitting in the back, had heard everything.

He wasn't surprised.

This was a private kindergarten. Any family that could afford it was either powerful or incredibly wealthy.

Most of these children had been spoiled since birth, naturally growing up with a sense of superiority.

Just then, Teacher Chu stepped onto the podium.

"Alright, everyone, quiet down and listen," she announced. "Today's activity is simple. Parents will sing a nursery rhyme with their children. If they don't know one, they can learn together on the spot. This afternoon, there will be a singing competition. Oh, and one more thing—it must include a musical instrument!"

Xiao Cheng raised an eyebrow.

A musical instrument, huh?

This could be interesting.
