Chapter 3 - First World

After using the Dimensional Portal skill, he felt time stop and everything went dark. When he came to, he found himself in front of Fujimi Academy High School. Looking at the name, as an otaku, he immediately thought of an anime he had watched in his past life.

While thinking, he sat in front of the school gate to observe. After a while, he saw a teacher entering, with a striking appearance: blonde, tall, beautiful, with a simple face and a bust that was practically impossible to ignore in the normal world. Seeing Shizuka Marikawa, he knew which world he was in and began to think about how to approach the situation and who to choose as a family member.

After observing for a while, he realized it wasn't a school day; only a few teachers were entering and leaving. So, he was sure that today wouldn't be the day of the outbreak, as the zombies appeared during a school day.

After thinking for a bit, he went to a busy area where he found some gangsters. Passing by them, he entered an alley where he was followed by the gangsters. As soon as they entered the alley, they saw White Night standing and were surprised. White Night didn't say much; he simply defeated them and forced them to take him to their base.

For someone like him, who had studied martial arts since childhood and improved his stats with cores, facing street gangsters was very simple, as long as there were no weapons. When he arrived at their base, he extorted a cell phone and money, took a random gangster's ID, and returned to the area near the school.

After thinking about how to approach the situation, he discovered that it was Saturday. He took the cell phone and started looking for news about someone being sick. After some research, he found nothing, so he was sure that there were still a few days until the outbreak.

He quickly looked for a vehicle rental shop with the gangster's ID and some extra money. With some difficulty, he rented a minibus for a month. He went to a workshop and asked for some simple modifications: removing some rear seats and reinforcing the windows and door with an iron plate in front.

Asking the workshop owner for urgency and paying double the price, the owner accepted the job to deliver the next day. With all that done, a good part of the plan began to take shape. He also went to a wooden sword shop and bought a bokken like Saeko Busujima's in the manga and anime.

Searching for the Busujima dojo, after some research, he found it, but as it was late, he looked for a hotel to spend the night and find the place on Sunday.

The next day, he went to the Busujima family dojo. Saeko was training kendo. He stopped in front and knocked on the door. Saeko stopped training, went to the door, and opened it. Seeing White Night, she was surprised by his striking appearance.

After the initial shock, she asked, "Who are you?"

White Night replied, "I'm a kendo student. I want to know if you're willing to compete with me to improve our sword skills."

Saeko saw that White Night was carrying a wooden sword like hers and accepted the challenge, eager to find an opponent.

Saeko then asked White Night to enter her family's kendo hall. After some hesitation, she asked, "What's your name? My name is Saeko Busujima."

White Night replied, "White Night."

Standing face to face, Saeko already felt the fighting intent permeating the hall. As a fanatic for fighting emotions, she liked this feeling, hoping that White Night wouldn't disappoint her.

White Night said, "Busujima-san, I've been honing my martial arts since childhood. I've heard about the Busujima school for a long time. I hope you can enlighten me in this fight."

Saeko was initially surprised but smiled with anticipation for the fight. "Yes, let's begin then, Mr. White Night."

After speaking, she assumed a fighting stance, and the tension increased. They both drew their swords. Face to face, White Night looked at this proud woman who represents wild swordsmanship in the minds of many otakus. He thought about how to approach her and decided that, as a swordsman, the best way was to speak with swords first.

Focusing on the fight, he waited for her to make the first move, as a courtesy. Saeko advanced with her sword, with strong fighting intent in her eyes, pulling the sword forward with a straight cut.

Swish... clang

With the sound of the wind on the wooden sword and the cut, after the first impact, they had measured each other's strength. With the start, they both began to dance with swords, impact after impact.

White Night was surprised because, even after improving his strength, he realized that Saeko wasn't far behind. If she had the opportunity to improve with cores like him, she might be stronger.

Despite the strength advantage, their swordsmanship was quite close, so the fight was balanced. Saeko, very surprised by White Night's sword skills, became increasingly excited by the fight.

White Night could see those wild eyes searching for the thrill of cutting. They fought intensely for two minutes. White Night took advantage of his greater stamina to gain the upper hand at the end.

Deflecting Saeko's sword with a side cut and quickly pulling his sword to her neck, he ended the fight.

At the end of the fight, Saeko was a little lost, thinking about the fight. "Mr. White Night, wait a moment. I'll prepare some tea."

White Night sat down for a bit, also tired from the high-intensity fight. Saeko returned with a tea set, sat down, and began to make tea.

White Night said, "Busujima-san..."

Saeko interrupted, "Saeko. You can call me Saeko. Since we're almost the same age, you can call me by my name."

She had already recognized White Night by his sword.

White Night continued, "Then call me White Night too. Saeko-san, in the fight just now, I saw that you really like to fight. To be honest, I learned to fight to survive and protect my family. It might be strange to you, as we live in a peaceful society, but the world is much more complicated than it seems."

Saeko listened in silence. "I know..." She thought about the scene when she was 14 and was attacked by a man.

Saeko finished the tea and handed it to White Night. They drank the tea in silence for a while.

White Night said, "Saeko-san, it might be strange to you, but this week the world might be hit by a strange disease. I have some contacts and know some things, but it's hard to explain now. I want to make an agreement with you, but the moment isn't now. When the change happens, I'll come to you to talk again. I hope you can tell your father to stock up on supplies and not go out during those days."

Saeko pondered and said, "It's really hard to believe, White Night-kun, but I'll tell him. It doesn't hurt to."

They talked a little more, and as it was late, they said goodbye. White Night went to lunch at a restaurant and then picked up the modified car. After getting the car, he went to a more remote supermarket and bought supplies.

After all that, he returned to the hotel, took a shower, had dinner, and left the hotel again. He drove to the front of the school and parked near the wall. He was ready to sleep in the car.

Early in the morning, he woke up with the cell phone alarm set the night before. He started searching again for diseases on the internet. He soon found that in some foreign countries, some people were fainting.

He prepared for the next action. He didn't intend to change the plot at the beginning but to use it to his advantage. He soon saw some familiar characters entering the school.

After everyone entered, he saw signs of people fainting on the street. He jumped over the school wall and went to the teachers' room. After the announcement on the loudspeaker, the teachers ran out. He entered the room and waited.

After about 30 minutes, the protagonist group entered.

After seeing White Night, most were surprised. Saeko recognized him.

Takashi Komuro asked, "Saeko-san, do you know him?"

White Night observed their reactions, seeing how they behaved. He could see that Professor Shizuka was as aloof as ever, getting some things to eat and sitting down. Rei Miyamoto was glued to Takashi Komuro, and Saya Takagi, too, showed that they had strong affection and trust for Takashi Komuro. Kohta Hirano was holding the nail gun, looking like a special forces shooter.

White Night stepped forward and said, "Saeko-san, we meet again."

Saeko said, "Komuro-kun... White Night is a friend I made at my dojo."

Then Saeko introduced everyone to White Night and introduced White Night to everyone. After the introduction, everyone was a bit lost.

After some deliberation, White Night stepped forward to not waste time. He, who knew the plot, had no reason to play house. The world was still very dangerous.

Then, he spoke to everyone: "As Saeko-san said, I am White Night. To be honest, through some sources, I learned about this outbreak. I already warned Saeko-san. If you ask why I didn't warn the authorities, I ask you: if I told you yesterday that this was going to happen, would you believe me? No, you would probably report me as crazy. So, I can only do the next thing: survive."

After hearing this, everyone was in shock.

He continued: "If you ask why I'm here, it's clear: with Saeko-san, we had agreed that when this happened, I would come to her. But I will also help you as much as possible; I'm not a cold-blooded person. If you don't want my help, I won't force it. Now, I will give my personal opinion. First, this outbreak has happened worldwide, so rescue will be very difficult. I know each of you has family and are worried, but first, you have to survive to see your families. In my opinion, the best thing we can do now is help the school survivors leave. Saeko-san and I will clear the zombies from the school. After that, I have an equipped vehicle outside. We will collect everyone's families and bring them to the school. First, it's pointless to leave now; it will be congested outside, you won't get anywhere, and the police have closed many access points to contain the virus. Now, the decision is yours."

Saya Takagi was the first to consider the plan's feasibility and then said, "My family is also part of a high-level organization, so they will probably set up a camp. I don't think it makes sense to stay here."

White Night expected this.

Takashi Komuro thought the plan was good and approved it, followed by the approval of the others.

Next was the next action plan: they took the school bus key to help the students leave. White Night with Saeko in front, Takashi Komuro behind with Rei Miyamoto, went to clear the school. Saya and Shizuka stayed, as they couldn't fight, and Hirano stayed to protect them.

White Night took the lead, clearing the corridors little by little and gathering the survivors in a room per floor. After much fighting, they managed to gather the students. There were just over 30 students and teachers left, Koichi Shido among them, but he was still scared and didn't cause problems.

After telling everyone about the plan to have them leave with the school bus, everyone approved. Takashi Komuro and Rei Miyamoto stayed to protect the students, while he and Saeko went to clear the path and kill the zombies near the bus exit. They sent the students to the bus.

When everything was ready, Koichi Shido saw that they weren't going to board and became scared. He saw the combat power of these students and wanted to use it. White Night knew his mind and said that he would stay to save more people, thwarting the professor's attempt at manipulation. Miyamoto applauded beside him. Koichi Shido fell silent, seeing everyone looking at him, and could only give up.

After all that was done, it was almost night. Everyone gathered again, took the remaining food in the cafeteria, had dinner, and went to a room to rest that night. White Night continued to refine the plan with everyone. After many deliberations, he managed to get Shizuka to say that she had a friend who lived near the route and wanted to stop by her house. Everyone approved.

The next day, they followed White Night to the modified car and were shocked when they saw the car. After getting into the car, Shizuka asked to drive and took a route further from the center, at White Night's request, because of the many riots and obstacles on the way. They arrived at the bridge almost at the end of the afternoon and saw the bridge obstructed. After some deliberation, they went to Professor Shizuka's friend's house, which was nearby.

When they arrived, Shizuka took the key and opened the house. Shizuka was a little sad because she didn't find her friend at home, but was comforted and, in the end, forgot. Then, she called everyone to take a bath. White Night and the others went to explore the house. He knew there were weapons here. Searching through the rooms, he soon found the safe. After some time, he managed to open it. He quickly separated some weapons for use here and stored the rest in his dimensional space. Calling Takashi and Hirano, he showed them the weapons and asked them to equip themselves. Meanwhile, they heard screams from the bathroom. Everyone felt uncomfortable. After the women took a bath, they took theirs in turn, while the women made dinner. After dinner, most were drunk. Hirano went to the balcony to observe, and the rest were sleeping. White Night sat in a more secluded corner, watching everyone, thinking about how the world can change quickly: yesterday, everyone lived a peaceful life; today, everything is over. Saeko saw White Night in the corner and went to him. Seeing Saeko approaching, White Night knew that the next part of his plan had arrived, now that everyone had gained more confidence.
