Chapter 4 - Joining the Family

Saeko sat beside White Night and asked if he was sleepless. White Night replied that he was thinking about something. After pondering for a moment, White Night told Saeko that he wanted to talk to her in private and invited her to the room. Saeko followed White Night. Takashi saw the scene but said nothing.

After entering the room, he closed the door and invited Saeko to sit at a table near the bed. They were silent for a moment as he thought about how to explain the situation. But Saeko spoke before he could begin.

"White Night-kun, you know, a few years ago, a man tried to assault me. I deliberately lured him into an alley, pretending to be scared. But when he wasn't looking, I drew my sword and killed him. You know, I quite liked the feeling. That's when I realized I was sick. After the police arrived, I said it was self-defense, and the case was dismissed. The world as it was before was boring. Although it's dangerous now, I feel free. And I don't know what White Night-kun saw in me, but I'm not a good person."

White Night listened in silence. Then, he spoke to Saeko: "No, Saeko-san, you're the one I need. You're complete. When we were fighting, I already knew about your bloodlust. That's one of the reasons I chose you. With the world changing, killing and betrayal are common. I need people with firm character, unafraid to fight. You know, Saeko-san, I have an ability that allows me to travel to different worlds to find companions for my family. It's not just your world that's in a state of destruction. My world, 50 years ago, was invaded. Now, everyone is fighting to survive. So, I need power and people to accompany me and gain strength to change this situation. Saeko was surprised; she hadn't expected this. "White Night-kun, it sounds like a made-up story, but after the world changed so much, I believe you. You know, I opened up to you, told you my biggest secret, because I already recognize you."

White Night heard what Saeko said and replied, "Saeko-san, how about we make an agreement where you will follow me to gain powers, and I will help you fix this world after you become stronger? After you become a member of my family, you will follow me. Through my world, you will gain more power, and when we return to your world, we can clear these zombies, reviving this world."

Saeko asked, "White Night-kun, what about the others?" She was talking about the protagonist group because, from what she heard, he didn't intend to invite them.

White Night, to be honest, was evaluating the protagonists all along. Hirano and Takashi were men, and he didn't intend to invite them. Rei, after losing her boyfriend, became very attached to Takashi, and Saya has been in love with Takashi for a long time but didn't dare to speak. He didn't think he could change that just because he was handsome. As for Shizuka, she wasn't suited for fighting. He didn't want to take people just to take them; he needed companions for his family who could grow with him and help, not hinder or be carried, at least not in the beginning.

After thinking for a moment, he said, "Saeko-san, you know, my world is also being invaded and is much more dangerous than your world. I don't intend to invite men to my family. As for the rest, I don't think they can withstand the pressure brought by my world or other worlds we will have to go to in the future to help the family. My current plan is to make the school a base for them to stay, leaving them here, which is much safer, until we can return and kill all the zombies."

Saeko listened and thought carefully. She agreed with White Night's opinion. Not all women are like her, who enjoys the thrill of cutting and killing. "Then, White Night-kun, what do we have to do?"

Then, White Night began to tell her more about how the contract works and set the terms. After the conclusion, the contract was that White Night would help her world when he gained power to clear the zombies, and Saeko would become a member of his family. White Night asked Saeko to turn around and show him her back. After the contract was concluded, Saeko, who was wearing a robe, simply turned around, took off the robe, and let it fall to her feet, displaying her entire white body to White Night. He couldn't help but gasp at Saeko's boldness, but he knew that, as a determined woman, she had already understood the situation. This would happen sooner or later, and she wouldn't change her mind.

Approaching Saeko, he pricked his finger and began the ritual to imprint God's Grace. After the ritual was done, he couldn't help but approach Saeko's hair and smell it. Saeko noticed his actions but didn't stop him. She was also under constant stress, despite not showing much. The world had changed very quickly, full of zombies, other worlds, and a little alcohol from dinner.

White Night put his arms around her waist and hugged her tightly. "Saeko, you can stop now if you want."

Saeko turned, put her arms around White Night's neck, leaned in, and kissed him. He was surprised by her boldness but responded. Since they had come this far, not responding now would be absurd. Then, they went to the bed and began a different kind of fight, from which they would never forget the pleasure brought. After some time, they separated and hugged. They didn't have much sex, as they would have to kill zombies tomorrow, and Saeko couldn't get hurt. Saeko talked to White Night, asking about his world, how he grew up, his family. He told her everything. Now, she was his family; he didn't need to hide anything anymore. After getting a piece of paper, he copied Saeko's skills.

Upon leaving the room, he went straight to the balcony, where Hirano was. He asked what had happened, and Hirano told him that a child and her father were being surrounded by zombies. After hearing this, he told Hirano that he would rescue them and asked him to reassure the rest of the people. As soon as he finished speaking, he jumped from the balcony to the nearby wall, with the wooden sword in his hand.

As soon as he left, Takashi appeared, and Hirano repeated the story. The others were still asleep. Leaving the house, White Night ran, jumping over the walls and roofs of the nearby houses, and soon saw Arisu's father stabbed and her crying with a little dog.

He quickly jumped in front of them, killed the zombies in the yard, and closed the gate. Arisu asked, "Brother, can you save my father?" White Night was a bit lost, as there was no way to save him. After thinking for a moment, he said, "I'm sorry, your father has already passed away, but he would want you to live well. Now, these monsters are about to come in, we need to leave here." He quickly picked up Arisu, placed her on top of the wall, and handed her the dog, who was still crying.

After he jumped over the wall, the gate couldn't hold anymore, and the zombies invaded. The people in the house were surprised and made noise, attracting the zombies to the door. Soon, the door was broken down due to the number of zombies, and the screams inside attracted even more zombies.

Picking up Arisu, he asked her to stay in his arms, and placed the sword in the dimensional space. Then, with Arisu and the dog in her arms, he quickly returned the same way, taking advantage of the zombies' attention on the houses.

After he returned, due to the noise, everyone woke up, including Saeko, who was still a bit tired. After returning and telling what happened at the house, everyone was angry at the people who didn't want to help but killed her father. After the women comforted Arisu and took her for a bath, Saeko went to rest. White Night also went to the sofa to sleep a little. The women were in the rooms, and Saeko and Arisu were together, sleeping.

Early in the morning, when he woke up, Saeko was already making breakfast. He came from behind, hugged her by the waist, and asked if she was okay. After talking for a while, he sat down and began to think about the best plan of action. Besides Saeko, this world didn't have much help for him. Saeko could still improve a little, but he needed cores.

After everyone woke up and ate, he began to replan with them what to do. After thinking for a while, he told Saeko to divide them into two groups: one to look for Rei and Hirano's mother and father, and the other, him and Saya, to go to her mansion to see how things were. Then, they would meet at the school again.

After thinking for a while, they were worried, but White Night said that with his and Saeko's abilities, it was difficult to find a serious problem. After a while, everyone agreed. As soon as they left with White Night's rented bus, he took Saya and left with Shizuka's friend's Hammer.

He wasn't too worried about Saeko, as with the bus, they would hardly be surrounded. The most worrying was him and Saya, but he already knew the situation, so it wasn't too difficult to handle. Saya was still in a constant state of fear of the zombies and that her parents had died. White Night saw, but didn't say much. He quickly drove the Hammer to the river, crossing through the shallowest part. After that, Saya guided him to the house. When they found a group of zombies, he quickly exited the car and stayed alert not to hit the wire fences.

After getting close to the wire, he parked the car parallel to the wire, opened the car top, picked up Saya, and jumped over the wire. After running down the street, they saw Saya's mother's rescue group. After clearing the zombies that were trying to break the wire and getting the Hammer again, they went to the mansion.

When Saya told her parents about what had happened in the last few days, they were surprised. Then, she told them about White Night's theory about the zombies, and they became really worried. After thinking for a long time, Saya's father approved the relocation plan. As they had plenty of things, trucks and buses to transport people were organized.

White Night didn't need to pay attention to that. They had weapons, and as long as they didn't wait for the zombies to surround them, everything would go well. After organizing everything, they left in the morning with the convoy. White Night was with Saya, talking while her parents led the escort to the school.

After arriving at the school, Saya's father organized teams to search the nearby markets, taking advantage of the fact that the area near the school was less populated. At the school, White Night was finishing cleaning the school while the remaining members of Saya's family reinforced the school.

After finishing all that, it was late when Saeko's team finally returned to the school, along with Rei's mother and Hirano's mother. They also reported that they didn't find Rei's father. Saya's father saw Saeko and, as he already knew her father, decided to give her a sword he had kept.

After calming down a bit, they asked how the trip to Saya's house was, and she told them the whole process, which was quite peaceful, unlike theirs, where they encountered several zombies, but couldn't stop the car or were stopped by Saeko.

A day later, Shizuka's friend arrived at the school by helicopter from the airport to find Shizuka. After seeing the school, she decided to stay there for now. After a few more days of searching the region, the school was already well equipped and protected, with many collected resources. It was at this time that the missile exploded, affecting all electronics on the island.

Leaving everyone even more worried, by this time they had collected many survivors from the nearby areas. Many people were killed because they tried to commit rapes and robberies inside the school base. Saya's father was keeping the base under military order to maintain order. They also started planting in the school gardens to have some fresh food.

During this time, everyone had already noticed Saeko and White Night's relationship, which had crossed the line of friendship. Only Saya was a bit confused. She liked Takashi, but after living with White Night for so long, she felt a bit indebted. White Night didn't pay attention to that. He called Saeko to talk because it was time to return, but before that, he would upgrade her grace.
