Blood of the Veymars

Veymars Headquarters Training Grounds

Three figures moved like shadows across the dirt-packed arena,

Mali Tatsumi a first-year female student—Third Rank Wraith Blood.

Aqo Gintama, a first-year male student—Second Rank Severed Blood.

Giova Konatsu, a first-year male student—Second Rank Severed Blood.

They were sparring, sweat and blood mixing in the air. Gintama and Konatsu teamed up, coordinating their attacks in a brutal 2v1 against Tatsumi.

Konatsu charged first. He raised his hand, and blood sprayed from his fingertips, splashing Tatsumi. With a sharp tug, he yanked her body toward him. But Tatsumi reacted fast—her hand shot up, blood pouring out to form a dagger. She swung at Konats, only for the ground beneath him to collapse.

"Gintama!" Tatsumi barked, startled.

Behind them, Gintama grinned, his blood manipulating the earth. "Don't forget about me!"

Konatsu erupted from the rubble, an axe manifesting from his blood. He swung at Tatsumi's back, shouting, "I finally got you now, Tatsumi!"

But Tatsumi's eyes closed, her voice ice-cold. "Amateur." She vanished, leaving only a trace of blood.

"Where is she?!" Konatsu yelped.

"Above you, Konatsu!" Gintama screamed.

Konatsu looked up—too late. Tatsumi's leg slammed into his face, sending him flying.

Before Tatsumi could land, Gintama thrust both hands forward, blood swirling into a pulsing orb. "Blood BLAST!" he roared, firing a Blood blast.

Tatsumi dodged mid-air with a swift twist, pointing at Gintama. Her fingers mimicked a gun, and blood bullets shot out, striking him as she landed gracefully.

Somewhere nearby, Koni Dio narrated the fight to a wide-eyed listener.

"They can seriously use blood as weapons?" Shizen Kenmochi asked, disbelief dripping from his voice.

Koni Dio smirked. "We use blood as everything."

"That's impossible," Kenmochi shot back.

"It is for normal blood," Koni Dio said, guiding him toward the training grounds. "But you forget one thing—this is crimson blood we're talking about, not an ordinary blood."

The group came into view. Konatsu, rubbing his bruised face, squinted at the newcomer. "Who's this blindfold guy, Dio?"

Tatsumi crossed her arms. "I'd also like to know."

Koni Dio stepped forward. "Everyone, meet Shizen Kenmochi. as of today He'll be joining your team as the fourth member."

"W-What? I'm joining them?" Kenmochi stammered.

"Of course you are," Koni Dio said with a smile.

Tatsumi cut in, her eyes gleaming. "If you don't mind me asking, Shizen Kenmochi, what kind of blood do you possess?"

"Don't get too hasty, Tatsumi," Koni Dio warned. "I know you're looking for a strong fight, but we don't know yet."

Giova tilted his head. "Why's he blindfolded? Is this some kind of surprise for him?"

"No," Koni Dio said solemnly. "It's because he's lost the ability to see."

"Oh, I'm sorry, dude," Giova mumbled. "I didn't mean to—"

Kenmochi interrupted, voice steady. "It's fine. Don't worry about it."

Tatsumi frowned. "Master, I thought our fourth member was going to be Kidagawa Toske. What happened?"

Koni Dio's face darkened. "About that… Kidagawa Toske has died."

"Died?!" Giova echoed, stunned.

"Unfortunately," Koni Dio said, "he was killed by the Onis."

Konatsu blinked. "How's that possible? He was here at headquarters!"

"He accidentally triggered his ability and teleported into the city," Koni Dio explained. "The Onis found him. When we got there, he was…" His voice trailed off.

"Teleportation's a strong technique," Tatsumi said. "You have to have at least Third Rank Blood to use it."

Koni Dio clenched his fists, but remained calm. "We learned his blood rank after he died. He was Third Rank. If we'd known sooner, this never would've happened."

"Such a strong blood," Tatsumi muttered. "Such a waste."

Giova's eyes flared with anger. "Hey! Don't say it like that! He was a person, not just blood!"

Tatsumi stayed calm. "Keep your emotions in check Giova. "

Giova growled, stepping toward her, but Konatsu blocked him. "Why don't we all just calm down?"

"I'm completely calm," Tatsumi replied coolly.

"Yeah, I'm totally calm too," Giova snapped, shoving Konatsu aside.

Suddenly, Koni Dio froze. A voice whispered in his head: Dio We have the result's come in quick.

"Okay," he said aloud, cutting through the tension. "Now that introductions are done, I'm leaving Kenmochi in your hands."

With that, he vanished, leaving a trace of blood, that vanished quickly.

Konatsu said " he just dumps a new guy and leaves what an asshole. "

Tatsumi hit's Konatsu's head and say's " don't talk about Master Dio like that "

Konatsu said. "Fine, Fine but you could have just said that you know you didn't have to hit me that hard, it hurt. "

Kenmochi took a step forward—and tripped over a rock, crashing to the ground.

Giova rushed over, grabbing his hand. "Don't worry, I gotchu." He helped Kenmochi.

"It must be hard, dude, to be blind," Konatsu said quietly.

"It's harder than I ever imagined," Kenmochi admitted.

Tatsumi glanced at him. "Dio Probably mentioned this before, but you do know if you're a high rank, you might be able to get your vision back."

"He did," Kenmochi said, hope flickering in his voice.

In her mind, Tatsumi mused: Everyone's rank can heal themselves with their blood technique. They use other alike living cells to make new cells and tissue. But eyes are tricky—no other cell is like it. You'd have to be at least Kindled to create new cells . And there've only been 20 Kindled bloods in our clan in 50 years.

Out loud, she said, "Don't get your hopes up too high. Better get used to it now."

"Hey, don't kill the guy's hopes!" Konatsu protested.

"Yeah," Giova added, "but even you know it, Konatsu."

Scene shifts to the highly secure Veymars Headquarters Lab.

Koni Dio appeared outside the door. He pressed his Blooded finger to a scanner, and the heavy metal slid open. Stepping inside, the door sealed shut behind him.

He approached the doctor overseeing the lab operations. "Kimichi, what's the situation?"

"Come, come, take a look at this," the doctor said, eyes gleaming with excitement.

Koni Dio stared at the results. "That's impossible."

"I think we just hit a breakthrough," the doctor replied, a grin spreading across his face.
