Chapter 3: Nothing to Lose

(Yuuta's POV)

"Huh?"

Her brown eyes widened at my sudden words. Her tiny lips dropped open in honest surprise.

"I-I must have misheard it before, r-right, Yuuta?"

"Did I stutter?" I said calmly, a little smirked on my face but Natsuha, she paled as fuck, "Let's break up, Natsuha."

"W-WHYYY?! Did I do something wrong? Is it about our date? Or because we never done that?"

I couldn't tell whether she was self-righteous or if she thought cheating on me was simply normal shit.

"Yu-Yuuta…"

She grabbed my shirt tightly, staring at me with that innocent face.

"This isn't the usual Yuuta I know. You must be confused about something? I'm sorry for what's happened lately—it's like I've been neglecting you—"

She paused and glanced up at me.

"Go on, Natsuha. Why stop?" I said, unamused.

"Why are you so different, Yuuta?"

"Me, different? Ah, that's right. Well, that reality check really made me grow up a bit. Anyway, are you done?"

Ugh, what the hell is that line? I chuckled inwardly. A small part of me was disappointed she'd lied, but in my past life, I'd always been stoic. I didn't need to waste energy on negative shit. Being edgy nor vengeance wasn't my cup of tea. Sorry Batsy. I stole that holy line for my monologue here.

"I—"

Her words stuck in her throat. She let go of my shirt, looking overwhelmed.

"If you don't know why, I'll tell you."

I tapped my phone and played it.

{Ahhn! Harder! AH! YES! It feels so good senpai!—}

Natsuha's eyes widened as she shivered at the sound.

"I just played it, and judging by your reaction, you recognize those moans. Aren't you?"

I turned my phone toward her bewildered face.

"Here, take a closer look."

Trembling, she took the phone, her eyes locking onto the video.

"Hu…huh?"

"You said your distant family was visiting, so we had to cancel our day. But instead, I found you and him? If it weren't for your mom mentioning you were home alone, I might've stayed oblivious while this played out behind my back. "

By now, Natsuha couldn't look at me. Her face dripped with sweat.

"Yu-Yuuta! I-I c-can explain!"

Hm, woman. I sighed inwardly and snatched my phone back.

"Give up. Accept reality, Natsuha."

"Wh-what do you mean?"

"There's no future between us. Period."

"N-No! Please! Just…give me one chance! You know I love you, Yuuta! Let's start over! I'll cut ties with him—I'll do anything! Please!"

There it is. The cliché plea.

"No."

"I'll do anything! Please…"

I sighed. If she was this hysterical, her mom's reaction would be worse.

"Don't bother. I've got nothing to lose here. You started this game, but I won't play along."

For God's sake. She cried even harder! Who's the villain here, huh?

"No, please! I beg you! I want to be with you—hiek!"

Eventually, she calmed down…slightly.

"This toxic relationship isn't healthy. You knew that, Natsuha."

"Um…yes…"

"I'll be blunt. I'll pretend I never saw this. In return…"

She stared at me with hollow eyes before dropping her gaze to the floor again.

"If people ask what happened, don't mention anything except we are broke up. Especially to our parents. Say we needed some space. Act normal if we meet. Pretend we're fine. Your call—you're the one in the wrong, not me."

"Um…yes…"

Natsuha nodded weakly.

I nodded back and got the hell out. Her house was soundproof, so I had no idea what she did afterward. Well, not my problem.

My objective was done. Why keep it secret? Simple. I hate drama. Why waste time on a cheater? Plenty of women exist—let's be logical, right? If we were married and she cheated, I'd throw a lawsuit at her and get it done. I'd get money and a divorce. But this? Yup, there'd be nothing I could've gained from the bitch. So, why should I waste my time for a bitch?

And with this second life handed to me on a silver platter, I'll dig in. After all. I've got nothing to lose.
