Chapter 41

Masika tried to shake off the feeling of being watched, telling herself she was just being paranoid. But as she walked back into the mansion, she couldn't help but feel like something was off.

She decided to try and distract herself by focusing on the wedding plans. She spent the rest of the day going over the guest list, the catering, and the decorations.

But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't shake off the feeling that Sophia was still a threat. She kept looking over her shoulder, expecting to see Sophia lurking in the shadows.

As the sun began to set, Joon arrived back at the mansion. He found Masika sitting in the living room, staring out the window.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Joon asked, sitting down beside her.

Masika turned to him, her eyes filled with concern. "I just can't shake off the feeling that Sophia is still a threat," she said.

Joon's expression turned serious. "I'll take care of it, Masika," he said. "I promise you, Sophia will not bother you again."

Masika nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. She knew that Joon would do everything in his power to keep her safe.

But as they sat there in silence, Masika couldn't help but wonder what Joon was hiding. What secrets was he keeping from her?

And then, just as she was starting to drift off to sleep, Masika heard a noise coming from outside.

Masika's heart skipped a beat as she heard the noise. It sounded like someone was trying to sneak into the mansion.

She turned to Joon, her eyes wide with fear. "Do you hear that?" she whispered.

Joon's expression turned serious, and he nodded. "Stay here," he said, getting up from the couch. "I'll go check it out."

Masika nodded, her heart racing with anticipation. She watched as Joon walked out of the room, his eyes scanning the hallway.

Suddenly, she heard footsteps coming from the hallway. They were light, stealthy footsteps, like someone was trying not to be seen.

Masika's heart skipped a beat as she realized that someone was indeed sneaking into the mansion. And she had a feeling that it was Sophia...

Just then, Joon appeared in the doorway, his eyes locked on something behind Masika.

"What is it?" Masika asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Joon's expression was grim. "We have a problem," he said, his voice low and serious.

And then, just as Masika was about to turn around and see what Joon was looking at, she heard a voice behind her...

"Hello, Masika," the voice said, dripping with malice. "I see you're still engaged to Joon. How quaint."

Masika's heart sank as she realized who was speaking. It was Sophia, and she was standing right behind her.
