Chapter 43

Masika's eyes searched Joon's face, looking for answers. But Joon's expression was calm and reassuring, giving nothing away.

"I want to know the truth, Joon," Masika said, her voice firm. "What organization is Sophia talking about?"

Joon's eyes narrowed slightly, and he hesitated before speaking. "I'm not involved with any organization, Masika," Joon said, his voice smooth. "Sophia is just trying to cause trouble."

But Masika wasn't convinced. She could see the faintest glimmer of deceit in Joon's eyes, and she knew that he was hiding something.

"I don't believe you, Joon," Masika said, her voice cold. "I want the truth."

Joon's expression turned dark, and he stepped closer to Masika. "You don't want to know the truth, Masika," Joon said, his voice low and menacing. "Trust me."

But Masika stood her ground, her eyes locked on Joon's. "I deserve to know the truth," Masika said, her voice firm.

And with that, Joon's expression changed. He looked at Masika with a mixture of surprise and admiration.

"Very well, Masika," Joon said, his voice smooth. "I'll tell you the truth. But be warned, once you know, there's no going back."

Masika's heart was racing with anticipation. She had never seen Joon like this before, so serious and intense.

"I'm ready, Joon," Masika said, her voice firm. "Tell me the truth."

Joon nodded, his eyes locked on Masika's. "I am the king of a powerful organization," Joon said, his voice low and smooth.

Masika's eyes widened in shock. "What organization?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Joon hesitated, his eyes darting around the room. "The Black Rose Society," he said finally, his voice low and mysterious.

Masika's heart skipped a beat.

"What does the Black Rose Society do?" Masika asked, her voice firm.

Joon's expression turned dark. "We take care of problems," he said, his voice low and menacing. "Problems that require...special attention."

Masika's eyes locked on Joon's, her mind racing with questions. What kind of problems? And what did Joon mean by "special attention"?

But before she could ask any questions, Joon's phone rang. He answered, his expression turning cold.

"What is it?" Masika asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Joon's eyes locked on hers. "It's Sophia," he said, his voice low and menacing. "She's made a move.

Masika's heart skipped a beat. "What do you mean?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Joon's expression turned cold. "Sophia has taken something that belongs to me," he said, his voice low and menacing. "Something very valuable."

Masika's eyes widened in shock. "What is it?" she asked, her voice firm.

Joon's eyes locked on hers. "A valuable artifact," he said, his voice low and mysterious. "One that holds great power."

Masika's mind was racing with questions. What kind of artifact? And what did Sophia plan to do with it?

But before she could ask any questions, Joon's phone rang again. He answered, his expression turning darker.

"What is it?" Masika asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Joon's eyes locked on hers. "Sophia has issued a challenge," he said, his voice low and menacing. "She wants to meet me at the old warehouse on the outskirts of town."

Masika's heart skipped a beat. "What does she want?" she asked, her voice firm.

Joon's expression turned cold. "She wants to play a game," he said, his voice low and mysterious. "A game of cat and mouse."
