Chapter 44

Masika's eyes widened in alarm. "You can't go," she said, her voice firm. "It's a trap."

Joon's expression turned cold. "I have to go," he said, his voice low and menacing. "Sophia has something that belongs to me, and I need to get it back."

Masika's heart was racing with fear. She knew that Joon was walking into a trap, and she didn't know how to stop him.

"Please, Joon," Masika said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Don't go. It's not worth the risk."

Joon's eyes locked on hers, and for a moment, Masika thought she saw a glimmer of uncertainty. But then, his expression turned cold again.

"I have to go," Joon repeated, his voice firm. "But I promise you, Masika, I will come back to you. Alive."

And with that, Joon turned and walked away, leaving Masika feeling helpless and afraid.

As she watched Joon disappear into the night, Masika knew that she had to do something. She couldn't just sit back and wait for Joon to walk into a trap.

The quickly grabbed her phone and dialed a number.

"Hello?" a deep voice answered.

"Jake, it's Masika," she said, trying to sound calm. "I need your help."

Jake was a friend of Joon's, someone he had been with since elementary. Masika had met him briefly, but she knew that Joon trusted him with his life.

"What's going on, Masika?" Jake asked, his voice alert.

Masika took a deep breath. "Joon's walking into a trap," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Sophia has challenged him to a meeting at the old warehouse, and I think she's planning to hurt him."

There was a pause on the other end of the line, and then Jake spoke up again.

"I'm on my way," he said. "Stay safe, Masika."

Masika breathed a sigh of relief as she hung up the phone. She knew that Jake would do everything in his power to help Joon.

As she waited for Jake to arrive, Masika couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. She knew that Sophia was capable of anything, and she was worried that Joon was walking into a trap.

General Jake Thompson's voice was firm and commanding as he spoke to his team. "I need you to track down Joon's location," he said. "He's walking into a trap, and I need to get to him before it's too late."

His team sprang into action, their fingers flying across their keyboards as they worked to track down Joon's location.

Jake's mind was racing with scenarios. He had known Joon for years, and he knew what is capable of, however he doesn't know what Sophia is up to.

Just as Jake was starting to get anxious, his team leader spoke up. "General, we've got Joon's location," he said. "He's at the old warehouse on the outskirts of town."

Jake nodded, his mind racing with a plan. "Let's move out," he said. "We need to get to Joon before Sophia does."

As they made their way to the warehouse, Jake's phone buzzed. It was Masika.

"Jake, I'm so scared," Masika said, her voice trembling. "I don't know what Sophia is planning, but I know it can't be good."

Jake's expression turned grim. "Don't worry, Masika," he said. "I've got a team on the way to extract Joon. We'll get him out of there, no matter what."

Masika's voice was barely above a whisper. "Thank you, Jake."

Jake's expression softened. "Don't thank me yet, Masika," he said. "We still have a long way to go."
