A Brief Account on Magical Syroches (Part 1)

[SPOILER ALERT]

Throughout the story, legends speak of powerful artifacts known as Syroches—mystical emblems imbued with elemental and celestial energies. These brooches are not mere ornaments but conduits of immense power, capable of bending nature, light, darkness, and even time itself. Wielded by warriors, mages, and entities of great influence, they have shaped wars, alliances, and the fate of entire civilizations.

The origins of these special brooches remain shrouded in mystery, but among the elder wielders, two dominant beliefs exist.

The first, upheld by Maharshi Jivyuj [a character from the story, later to be introduced] and others of his kind, states that these brooches were gifts from the Spirits of Nature, bestowed upon the world by Luméon, the force of harmony and protection. According to this belief, Luméon granted the brooches to help humanity and other races flourish, protecting them from destruction and disorder. Each brooch, attuned to its wielder, was meant to guide its holder towards righteousness.

However, an opposing force lurks in the shadows—Nyxath, the unknown entity of darkness and balance. Unlike Luméon, Nyxath is said to have forged brooches not to protect, but to destroy. To maintain an unseen equilibrium, Nyxath's brooches are imbued with chaos and entropy, their wielders often consumed by ambition, rage, or madness. The reason behind Nyxath's actions remains undefined—whether it is to test mortals, to challenge Luméon's influence, or to impose an order beyond mortal comprehension.

Despite these beliefs, the truth behind the brooches' creation remains elusive. Are they divine gifts, cosmic tools of balance, or relics of an even older force that predates both Luméon and Nyxath? No one knows for certain. What is known, however, is that those who possess a brooch are forever bound by its power—either to protect, to destroy, or to carve a new path altogether.

Thus, the existence of brooches remains both a blessing and a curse. Some seek them for justice, others for dominance, and a few simply for survival. Yet, in the end, the brooch chooses its wielder, and its true purpose may only be revealed when the time is right—So keep reading to know the truth!
