[Pass through a barrier!?. I've once tried to go to the end of the barrier but I never made it to the end. Maybe she was able to pass because Mom was outside, or did Mom lied to us? But why would she do such?] Kakashi pondered, but could not come up with an answer.
"And big brother?" Tokah called.
"Hmm mm"
"I injured myself; could you make the pain go away?" Tokah asked as she pushed her thumb to his face.
"Can't you do it yourself?"
"No, the pain only goes away when you do it"
"Okay, okay." Kakashi put his sister's thumb in his mouth and began to suck on it, it wasn't as weird as it looked when she was younger, but even though she was eight years old, Kakashi still felt a little bit bothered. He then chanted a special incantation, which was "pain, pain go away"
Their mother always did the same for him when he got injured, and it always made him feel better. Then he tied the hurt thumb with a little piece of clothing.
"Thank you, big brother; I am going to bed now. Aren't you coming along?"
"No thanks, I think I'll wait for a while"
"Okay, good night!" Tokah smiled and ran up the stairs.
"Good night, and Tokah?"
She stopped and turned around with a confused look on her face.
"Yes, big brother," she answered with her adorable voice.
He wanted to ask about what happened to her and why was she acting strange, but it seemed like she couldn't remember, so he decided to let it slide.
"Don't tell mom about this."
"Of course, I know that. I'm not stupid, you know!"
"If you say so," Kakashi replied and she ran to her room.
Kakashi relaxed his back on the wooden chair, staring at the book but couldn't read. The thought of his sister passing through the barrier was still in his mind, maybe she was able to pass through because the barrier was inactive since their mother was outside, and that must have been it.
Or maybe, she was strong enough to pass through a barrier like their strange uncle.
"I'm weak!. Can I protect my family?" Kakashi said. "No, maybe Mom left it open, or maybe I'm just thinking too much about it"
Ako came back the next day with three copies of the family photo they had taken the other day and gave one to both of them. Unlike the other days when she came back calm and secretive, today was different. Her body was shivering and sweaty, she was breathing heavily as if she ran from where she went till she got back.
"Quickly!, Go to my room and use the teleportation talisman," Ako said holding onto Kakashi. "Quickly, go before they come"
Talismans are cursed objects that have been inbuild with karma energy for a specific technique, and Ako had a teleportation talisman, in case they were ever found, it would be easier to escape to somewhere safer.
"What's wrong Mom, are the evil people who want our power coming for us?" Tokah asked with a frown on her face.
"I'm sorry, but they are coming for you" their mother replied. Kakashi could sense the fear in his mother's voice, he had never seen her like that before, not after the day they left the village. She placed her right hand on Kakashi's cheek and the other one on Tokah's and kissed their forehead. All this time she was shaking uncontrollably; she was terrified. "Please Kakashi, always look after yourself and sister. And always remember that I love you both"
"What is coming, Mom?" Kakashi asked out of curiosity, he was also starting to get scared, but his mother forced a smile and told him to hurry. "But what about you?, Aren't you coming with us?"
"I'll be right behind you, just go while I hold them back"
Kakashi quickly took Tokah's hand and ran upstairs. Tokah was crying, asking him to tell her what was wrong, but he didn't reply. A few seconds after he ran upstairs with his sister, a group of men broke into the house from every opening. There were about ten of them.
Kakashi opened the door to his mother's room and took out the talisman from where it was hidden, their mother had earlier shown him where it was hidden in case of a day like this. He placed the talisman on their forehead and told his sister that he was going back.
"But Mom said we should go together, she'll be right behind us!"
"I can't leave her alone" Kakashi replied. "I'm sorry, but I'm going back to help"
"Then let me come with you, I'm strong. I can protect you" Tokah said with tears dripping from her eyes.
She is strong but she was still a child after all.
"I can take care of it alone"
"Then promise me" Tokah held his hand, trying her best not to cry. "Please, promise me that you'll come back"
"I promise, no matter what, I'll come to you. So matter where it sends you, just wait for me and I'll be there"
Tokah was finally satisfied with Kakashi's promise so she left his hand and waved at me with a wide smile, her body was slowly becoming brighter and brighter as Kakashi recited the incantation till she finally disappeared. Kakashi turned back immediately to save his mother.
Ako has been captured. With two men holding her hands behind her back, the first man walked around the living room, looking around. He looked at her, frowning at her like he was disgusted by the sight of her.
"Where are they?" He asked angrily, holding her neck, choking her in the process.
Kakashi wanted to help her, but he couldn't move. He was too scared.
The floor was stained with the blood of some of the men she killed—about six of them—which means there are four of them left.
"Answer me, dammit!!!!"
"Then they are... no. Not here," Ako struggles to speak, even with the man strangling her.
"Boss, this chick is hot!" The fourth person said, "Why don't we have a little fun with her?"
Ako was able to quickly free herself from the second man's grip.
"Please tell me. Who sent you?" She asked, crying. "Are you from the village? I left you, so please leave me alone. My husband died trying to clean up the mess we caused. We did all we could to pay back for all the damages we caused. So PLEASE, LET US LIVE IN PE"
Her words were cut short when the first man stabbed her in the stomach with a dagger.
