An Old Face

The snake boss had very little health left when Jax arrived next to it and struck down with his axe. The axe sunk into the snake's blue flesh, the sharp risen scales giving way for it to reach the inside.

Jax immediately pulled back his axe, realizing that the first strike hadn't killed the snake at all. However, if that strike didn't kill it, the next one would.

He moved to the side, swinging his axe once again.

As he did, he saw a flash of light from his peripheral vision. He instinctively stopped and moved to the side just in time as a sword came down at where he was before.

Jax quickly spun around, ready to attack the man. He couldn't tell how the man had gotten out of his entrapment so quickly, but now that he had, he would have to fight him.

However, even as Jax prepared himself for the upcoming fight, his entire body froze when he realized that it was not the man from before who had attacked him.

It was a different person entirely.
