Dugu Bo absorbed the soul bone on the spot. His spirit power, which had been at the peak of level 94, surged to level 95 under the influence of the high-quality soul bone's energy, officially making him a Super Douluo (A/N: Danger!).
For someone of Dugu Bo's cultivation level, absorbing a soul bone was a quick process—less than half an hour and it was done.
The seventy-thousand-year Sky Dome Divine Eagle's left leg bone granted Dugu Bo a significant speed boost. The soul bone skill, Divine Eagle Extreme Speed, restored him to his peak condition, increased his speed by 300%, and allowed him to briefly fly for up to half an hour per use.
It could only be used three times a day—a powerful life-saving ability.
After hearing about the soul bone skill, Li Luochen's face fell. "Such an amazing soul skill? Shit, I think I might regret this a little too much. Is there any regret medicine? Give me a dozen doses! o(╥﹏╥)o"
Once Dugu Bo finished absorbing the soul bone, everyone took a moment to rest and recover their strength, preparing to head toward the territory of the variant Tyrant Dragon.
The Tyrant Dragon's domain was near the rocky mountains in the southeastern part of the Sunset Forest, a place where soul beasts were scarce. The other soul beasts of the forest avoided this area because the Tyrant Dragon frequently hunted there, keeping them at a distance.
After spending most of the day crossing nearly half of the Sunset Forest, they finally arrived at the rocky mountains in the southeast. There, a massive creature lay sprawled atop one of the rocks, snoring loudly with giant bubbles forming and popping from its nose.
Even while lying down, its height exceeded ten meters. Its enormous body resembled a small mountain, covered in thick, earth-yellow scales that were irregularly shaped. Its massive head occupied nearly a quarter of its entire body.
This was a variant Tyrant Dragon, possessing both the earth attribute of the Mountain Dragon bloodline and the extreme power of the Golden Dragon King bloodline. A normal Tyrant Dragon would typically have gray-black scales, but this one was earth-yellow—a clear sign of mixed heritage.
A Tyrant Dragon with Golden Dragon King bloodline alone was already terrifying enough, but this one also carried Mountain Dragon bloodline, making it even more formidable.
A ten-thousand-year Tyrant Dragon could rival a hundred-thousand-year soul beast, and this one was twenty-thousand years old. Its thick, earth-yellow scales hinted at its incredible defense.
In Li Luochen's eyes, not only was this Tyrant Dragon's defense overwhelming, but its resistance to poison was likely just as impressive. He wondered if Dugu Bo's poisons would even be able to seriously injure it.
"Flender, let's team up and take it on. Dragon girl, protect Yan Yan and Luochen."
Dugu Bo and Flender immediately unleashed their True Bodies—a forty-meter-long Jade-Gold Phosphorous Snake Emperor and a ten-meter-long Hurricane Owl with a twenty-meter wingspan appeared.
The bubble on the Tyrant Dragon's nose burst, and it opened its eyes, letting out a thunderous roar.
Roar—
A massive dragon roar echoed as the Tyrant Dragon stood up, reaching a height of over sixty meters. Its gaze locked onto its enemies, saliva dripping from its mouth, its fighting spirit at its peak.
With another roar, the Tyrant Dragon stomped one foot on the ground, causing rocks to float up and attach to its body, forming a layer of dragon armor.
This move left both Dugu Bo and Flender stunned.
"Is this the intelligence of a ten-thousand-year soul beast? Or is it just instinct?"
Flender exclaimed in amazement, while the Tyrant Dragon's small eyes flashed with mockery. As the king of sub-dragon species, its actual combat power surpassed many true dragons.
Its intelligence was extremely high, comparable to that of a hundred-thousand-year soul beast, though it couldn't yet speak. A Tyrant Dragon needed to reach fifty thousand years before it could talk.
(T/N: Author's personal addition.)
"Flender, let's strike together with full force. This Tyrant Dragon's strength likely rivals that of a Title Douluo. Even an average Title Douluo might not be a match for it."
Dugu Bo observed the Tyrant Dragon carefully. His instincts told him this creature was no ordinary opponent—if they underestimated it, they might die.
"Ninth Soul Skill: Jade Phosphorous Divine Light!"
"Eighth Soul Skill: Sky Dome Hurricane!"
Dugu Bo and Flender simultaneously unleashed their strongest soul skills. A green beam of light merged with a cyan-green hurricane, creating a toxic storm infused with Jade Phosphorous Snake venom that roared toward the Tyrant Dragon.
Clang—The highly toxic hurricane swept through, stripping away the stone armor. Beneath it, the earth-yellow scales showed no signs of injury.
Their attack had been completely blocked by the thick stone armor.
Dugu Bo and Flender exchanged shocked glances. How could a Super Douluo and a Spirit Douluo's combined attack fail to leave a mark?
Though Dugu Bo's ninth soul skill had been a test, it still shouldn't have resulted in zero damage. The Tyrant Dragon's stone armor was incredibly thick, but at least it had been broken.
Li Luochen, watching from afar, was also surprised. "This is ridiculous. Is the Tyrant Dragon really this strong? No wonder it's called the king of sub-dragon species, but this seems excessively overpowered."
Dugu Bo and Flender continued their assault. Dugu Bo activated the Medusa Soul Bone skill, Medusa's Gaze, only to find that the petrification effect had minimal impact on this variant Tyrant Dragon.
Dugu Bo quickly adjusted his strategy, using speed and hit-and-run tactics. In simple terms, he attacked and retreated repeatedly.
He skillfully utilized the newly acquired left leg bone, combining it with his sixth soul skill, Jade Phosphorous Snake Emperor Break, to harass the Tyrant Dragon.
Flender adopted a similar approach, leveraging his flying agility-type attacks. All his strikes were ranged—he didn't aim to seriously wound the Tyrant Dragon but instead focused on creating openings. Once wounds appeared, Dugu Bo's poison could take full effect.
After repeated attacks, numerous wounds began to appear on the Tyrant Dragon's body. Despite its immense defense, it couldn't withstand being kited like this. It lacked any long-range attacks, relying instead on brute force to charge forward. It hadn't expected to be toyed with so shamelessly today.
Dugu Bo noticed the wounds and used his fourth soul skill, Corrosive Poison, to prevent the Tyrant Dragon's wounds from healing, worsening its injuries.
To maximize the potency of the corrosive poison, Dugu Bo activated the soul skill from the seventy-thousand-year Boundless Venom Python's right arm bone, increasing his poison's potency by 200%. This greatly amplified the corrosive effects of his snake venom.
Moreover, after studying the application of mixed poisons, Dugu Bo now employed multiple layers of toxins. The corrosive poison was combined with Jade Phosphorous Snake Emperor venom and enhanced further with soul bone poison.
At this point, even a Super Douluo of the same level wouldn't dare touch Dugu Bo's venom. Multiple mixed poisons were truly terrifying.
After half an hour of relentless hit-and-run tactics, the Tyrant Dragon's body was covered in wounds—purple-black and greenish gashes everywhere. It roared in anger, but the tide of battle had decisively turned against it. The Tyrant Dragon was nearing its end.
In a direct 1v1 melee fight, even Dugu Bo might not have been able to seriously injure the Tyrant Dragon. Unfortunately for the dragon, it had been defeated through kiting.
"Flender, cripple its legs. I'll seal its mouth shut."
Flender gathered his spirit energy and struck the area of the Tyrant Dragon's leg most heavily corroded by snake venom. Crack—one of its thighs snapped.
Dugu Bo unleashed his soul bone skill, Snake King Bind, restraining the Tyrant Dragon's entire body, especially its massive mouth, which was bound tightly by over a dozen snake shadows.
The Tyrant Dragon was now completely immobilized, unable to even make a sound.
"Alright, kid, attack the top of its head. I've already corroded this area clean. The poison will soon seep into its brain."
Dugu Bo gestured for Li Luochen to strike the deepest purple-black spot on the Tyrant Dragon's head. Beneath the purple-black surface lay the dragon's brain—a single blow would be fatal.
