---------------------------------------------------------------------
Li Luochen's strongest strike landed on the head of the Dark Golden Three-Headed Bat King. This blow was comparable to the most powerful attack from a Soul Sage in their Spirit True Body state.
How could a bat king with ten thousand years of cultivation withstand such an assault?
*Bam!* The three heads of the Dark Golden Three-Headed Bat King shattered simultaneously. It hadn't even had a chance to fight back before it fell.
After the heads exploded, a shard of glowing dark golden-red light caught Li Luochen's attention. Using his soul power, he grasped it and found a piece of dark golden-red soul bone in his hand.
"The head soul bone of the Dark Golden Three-Headed Bat King? What a pleasant surprise! Bats are known for their sonic attacks—this must be a wisdom-type skull. Its soul skill is likely soundwave-based. Truly exquisite!"
Li Luochen toyed with the soul bone for a moment before storing it in his storage soul tool. Such a treasure was indeed an unexpected boon.
The thousands of bats, seeing their leader obliterated in a single strike, scattered in all directions. Some fled, others dispersed, but Li Luochen paid them no mind and continued flying forward.
In the distance, Bibi Dong, who had been observing, was shocked by Li Luochen's overwhelming strike. She muttered to herself, "When I faced these bats back then, I had to fight while retreating. Yet this brat defeated the Dark Golden Three-Headed Bat King in one hit? Truly terrifying. That strike was as powerful as the strongest attack from a Soul Sage.
Even the Hao Tian Hammer couldn't achieve such a feat in one blow—otherwise, Tang Hao would have killed it long ago. And it even dropped a soul bone? Hmph, what luck this kid has."
Every move Li Luochen made was within Bibi Dong's sight. As the Pope, she needed to keep a close eye on this genius who had secretly joined the Spirit Hall. If he could be brought into the Pope's Hall…
"However, next up, that strange snake won't be so easy to deal with."
Bibi Dong continued observing Li Luochen. At this point, she hadn't yet gone mad; her mind was still clear. Her second spirit, the Soul Devouring Spider Emperor, wasn't fully equipped with soul rings yet, but she could still control its malevolent energy, and her condition was stable.
Meanwhile, Li Luochen pressed onward. If he wasn't mistaken, his next opponent should be the Ten-Headed Fiery Sun Snake—a creature he was familiar with. Not long after, Li Luochen spotted a massive figure coiled on the narrow path ahead.
A pair of fiery red eyes glowed in the dimness. On the narrow path ahead, a dark red body lay coiled. Its exact size was unclear, but it was clearly a snake, its entire body wrapped around the narrow road.
Its eyes weren't particularly large. Along its head and back were nine protrusions, each resembling a bright red mushroom, with what appeared to be blood flowing inside. Its abdomen was unusually swollen, bulging on the narrow path. Its length exceeded ten meters.
The monstrous snake emitted croaking sounds, like the cries of a baby. The nine growths on its back began to glow with a golden-red light.
{T/N: The description is weird af, why does this snake croak? Idk fam.}
The Ten-Headed Fiery Sun Snake was a primordial beast of immense toxicity. Adult specimens could grow over ten meters long and possessed the most potent fire poison among snakes. After ten thousand years of cultivation, it could form an inner core hidden within its nine heads. When unleashed, the inner core could dim the heavens and earth. Whoever obtained its inner core could command all snakes.
It was the supreme ruler among snakes.
In the original timeline, Ma Hongjun's seventh soul ring came from the Ten-Headed Fiery Sun Snake. His Phoenix Flame Spirit evolved into a Seven-Headed Fire Phoenix, and by the time he became a Title Douluo, it evolved further into a Nine-Headed Fire Phoenix.
The Ten-Headed Fiery Sun Snake's poison was incredibly potent, especially its fire toxin, which approached Ultimate fire. Since fire toxin was still considered fire, Ma Hongjun's spirit evolved into a super spirit, eventually granting him the potential to ascend to a Level One god. Unfortunately, he failed.
However, due to the butterfly effect caused by Li Luochen's presence, this life's Ma Hongjun was extremely diligent. By six and a half years old, he had already resolved his spirit issues. He would no longer become the Brothel Phoenix. At the very least, before Li Luochen left, his efforts rivaled those of his seniors, Qin Ming and Mo Yu.
Li Luochen believed that when he returned, Ma Hongjun would make him proud. But for now, the immediate task was to defeat this Ten-Headed Fiery Sun Snake.
The snake's inner core could detach and attack. Once separated from its body, severing the connection between the core and the snake would kill it.
But first, Li Luochen needed to force it to use its inner core. He hurled his Coiling Dragon Staff with a force equivalent to several tons, striking the Ten-Headed Fiery Sun Snake.
The snake, a veteran of over ten thousand years, never expected this human to disregard martial ethics and ambush it. Snakes were always the ones to ambush others—no other creature dared to attack them. It was enraged.
Anger flared in its golden-red eyes, and the nine golden-red growths on its back grew even brighter.
*Croak, croak.* It seemed to be angrily calling out.
Its body arched on the narrow path, and the nine growths aligned perfectly with Li Luochen's position.
Suddenly, the nine growths burst open, and nine streams of golden-red liquid shot out. Instead of traveling in straight lines, the liquid curved toward a point above and in front of Li Luochen. In midair, the nine streams merged into a single fist-sized golden-red sphere, which then plummeted toward him.
"I've been waiting for you to use your inner core. But using the inner core as a weapon? It's like a Gold Core cultivator pulling out their core to throw at someone—it feels a bit odd, doesn't it?"
Li Luochen had waited for this moment but couldn't resist making a snarky comment.
"Battle Art, Third Form: Ocean Churning and Sea Stirring!"
Li Luochen spun his Coiling Dragon Staff and hurled it with a rotational force. The spinning staff resembled a disc, its weight creating a vortex-like effect, akin to a miniature tornado.
*Boom!*
The Coiling Dragon Staff shattered the snake's body. The inner core, which had been about to strike Li Luochen, lost control and fell.
Li Luochen used his soul power to pull the inner core toward him. Though it was highly toxic, his body was immune to all poisons, so it posed no threat.
Li Luochen examined the golden-red sphere in his hand. Within it, the patterns of the Ten-Headed Fiery Sun Snake were visible. After observing it for a moment, he placed the inner core into a porcelain bottle and stored it in his storage soul tool.
This inner core was exceptionally valuable. It could transform into a soul ring, providing immense benefits to fire-attribute and snake-type soul masters. Unfortunately, it was useless for Little Snake Girl Dugu Yan, who had already transformed into a Dragon Maiden.
As for Ma Hongjun, following Li Luochen's plans, he would eventually achieve Ultimate fire, so he wouldn't need this. Later, Li Luochen planned to visit the Undying Volcano in the Great Star Dou Forest—perhaps he'd find something good there.
This inner core would go to Dugu Bo. After all, Grandpa Dugu Bo had helped him immensely. This inner core might push him even further. His Golden Jade Phosphorus Snake Emperor was already a king among snakes—if it absorbed the inner core of the supreme snake, it might evolve again.
Moreover, it was difficult for Dugu Bo to continue advancing. He already possessed five soul bones, only lacking a torso bone. But finding a high-quality torso bone suitable for him was incredibly challenging. Perhaps this inner core could help Dugu Bo take another step forward.
Who knew? The energy of the inner core might even increase the age of his soul rings. After all, this was originally Ma Hongjun's seventh soul ring in the original timeline. There was a chance Dugu Bo could experience significant growth.
Dugu Bo was currently at the peak of level ninety-five. Swallowing this inner core should raise his level by one, and his spirit might undergo another evolution. Li Luochen felt that the stronger Dugu Bo became, the safer he would be.
