An hour later, Manik reached the office at full speed. He stood a few steps away, repeatedly calling Kavya, but despite his numerous calls, Kavya didn't pick up. Seeing this, Manik got frustrated — "She's deliberately ignoring my calls… What does she even want…?"
Frustrated, Manik walked straight to Kavya without caring about anyone around. Seeing him, Kavya felt like she might faint for a moment. On the other hand, seeing Kavya's condition, Manik became extremely worried about her.
"I need to talk to you — come with me," Manik said firmly.
Kavya panicked seeing him so close, but the very next moment, gathering all her strength, she angrily said,
"I don't want to talk to you. Please leave!"
Hearing this, Manik didn't argue further. He immediately grabbed her hand and took her to the storeroom. Though Manik initially wanted to yell at her for her unnecessary stubbornness, seeing her condition made him more worried. Instead, he hugged her and spoke softly:
"Why did you even come to the office today? After being physical all night, how do you even have the strength to walk around? You should have been resting today."
Hearing Manik's words, flashes of their last night together came rushing into Kavya's mind — memories she was desperately trying to suppress. Meanwhile, Manik's casual behavior was making her even angrier.
She pushed him away and shouted,
"What's your problem? Do you have some mental issue that makes you forget over and over that we are not a couple?! And for your kind information — this is my body, and I know very well if I'm fine or not!"
Manik was shocked to see her this furious. From his perspective, they had spent the night together with mutual consent, so he assumed Kavya would finally accept his feelings. But that didn't happen, leaving Manik frustrated. He immediately pinned her against the wall, leaning closer to her:
"If you're perfectly fine, then why not repeat everything we did last night? Honestly, I'm missing every single moment — every single touch from our night together."
"Please, just stop!" Kavya snapped, irritated, and loudly asked him to shut up. She pulled out an A4-sized paper from her pocket and held it up in front of him:
"You can't come near me anymore — so please, get out of my life! Our deal was for a one-night stand — so before you say anything else, read this contract!"
Hearing about a contract, Manik was confused. Taking the paper from her hands, he asked in disbelief,
"Contract? What contract? What's written in this?"
Kavya, fuming with anger, shot back,
"Read it yourself!"
Reading the contract left Manik completely shocked because he had no memory of it.
"What the hell…?!" Seeing his own drunken signature on it made his head spin. He couldn't believe he had made such a huge mistake while drunk. But more than anything, he was worried about what Kavya must think of him now.
"Kavya, please… This contract is fake. I was drunk — I never meant to cheat or hurt you. I swear, I love you… Please, you have to believe me…"
Hearing Manik say the same things again, Kavya's anger boiled over.
"You already told me everything last night — so stop this drama! You did exactly what you wanted to — so just leave me alone now!"
Manik felt deeply hurt by her words. Without thinking, he hugged her tightly.
"Please believe me, Kavya. I really do love you."
"Manik, please let me go… What are you doing?" Kavya pushed him away, took a deep breath, and said,
"We had a one-night stand — you promised me that after we were intimate once, you'd never show up in my life again. You promised you'd leave me alone forever. So why are you here now? Do you want me to leave this city?"
Already panicked by the contract situation, hearing her talk about leaving shattered Manik.
"Absolutely not — you're not going anywhere."
After a brief silence, Manik said again,
"Fine, I won't show up in front of you anymore — but first, you need to take these medicines. After that, I'll leave."
Knowing her condition, Manik had brought medicines for Kavya on his way to the office. Initially, Kavya refused, but she ended up taking them due to Manik's persistence.
A distressed Manik sat in Nikhil's office, explaining everything — the drunken mess, the absurd contract.
"I don't know why I drank so much last night… I ended up signing that stupid contract. Things were finally starting to improve between us — and this contract ruined everything."
Nikhil, stunned by the story, was even more surprised to realize his crazy best friend had actually fallen in love.
"I can't believe it — you're seriously in love. And that contract — seriously? How did a girl like Kavya even fall for your trap? You asked her for just one night — you were at fault here. God knows how she must be feeling now."
Just then, Dinesh walked in, and Nikhil sighed in relief.
"Good thing you're here — handling Manik alone is impossible."
"What happened? Why do you both look so miserable?" Dinesh asked.
Nikhil filled him in on all the details, leaving Dinesh equally stunned.
"Manik, I told you to stay away from her — that girl's too smart."
Manik, now even more frustrated, snapped.
"Can you both shut up? My head is already exploding."
Nikhil, annoyed, replied,
"Stop acting like you love her! You've had these kinds of flings so many times before. Get real."
Despite their advice, Manik decided to stay away from Kavya for a while and left for Bangalore for work.
A week passed since Manik left Kavya's life. Slowly, her life started to get back on track, but she couldn't sleep peacefully after that night. Every time she entered her room, those horrifying memories haunted her. She even requested Jyoti to help her shift apartments.
Meanwhile, Jyoti confronted her multiple times, asking why she resigned and why she changed apartments —
"You've changed so much, Kavya. You didn't even tell me about resigning. Now you want to shift. You're distant, barely talking or eating. What's wrong? Tell me."
Kavya always avoided answering, dismissing Jyoti's concerns with silence.
A week later, Manik returned to Mumbai. The moment he landed, his mind was filled with thoughts of Kavya. Dropping Dinesh at the airport, he took the car and drove straight to her apartment, only to find out she had shifted.
"Did she get married? No… she can't do that!"
The thought of her marrying someone else drove him insane. He immediately called Nikhil to ask if she was still coming to the office — relieved to know she hadn't quit.
"You psycho! You're back at it again!" Nikhil scolded before Manik cut the call.
"Thank God you didn't do anything, my sweetheart. Or God knows what I'd do to your fiancé."
Desperate, Manik called her colleagues and finally got her new address from a female colleague.
Reaching her new apartment, he found Jyoti there.
"Manik?! How did you get this address?"
Ignoring her questions, he only asked about Kavya.
"I'll explain everything later — just tell me, is she okay?"
Suspicious, Jyoti asked,
"Is something going on between you two?"
Manik, unwilling to answer, left after getting Kavya's location.
After an hour, Manik stood outside a café, watching Kavya talk to some guy. Seeing the guy hug her made Manik snap — he stormed over and punched him.
"How dare you touch her!"
Kavya, trembling, tried to calm him.
"Everyone's watching!"
Ignoring her, Manik shouted,
"Who is he?! Is he your boyfriend?!"
