Looking at the time, it said 15:30 pm. knowing I had few minutes to my appointment with Beth, then Sarah afterwards, got me filled with anticipation and excitement.
I dressed up, spraying colognes that belonged to my father, looking good. I had saved some of it for future purposes, for things like this.
It's been so long I felt this good about stepping out. The scenario which stopped after I lost my father, but now, I'm back.
Heading to the kitchen where my mom prepared dinner, she didn't even allow me to land before asking where I was going to.
I had come to tell her I was going out, yes. But I didn't plan of making her know where I headed to. Due to this, I gave her a stern look that showed I didn't wish to let her know, at least in the meantime.
Agreeing with the stare, she said. "Ok, I won't ask, but do take care of yourself."
Deep within, I knew she wasn't the type to let go of such matters concerning me. I knew she will be, if not worried that someone else might get more of my time, making me to pay less attention to her.
That has always being her words whenever I had little discussions with her, and it was also her fond way of reminding me that I was no longer a kid.
"Mom, no woman can take your place in here," I said, pointing my thumb to my chest.
Like I had hit the jackpot of what could have turned to her worry, she smiled. "Ok, baby, don't forget you told me that."
I smirked and nodded my head.
"You've changed so much, in the positive way that I don't recognize you," she added, and I replied with a smirk, taking in the glory of the compliment.
My mom had prepared my best type of meal. She always said that I took after my dad, who was always on a diet.
I loved eating more vegetables, balanced with enough meat. According to my mom, my dad ate less carbohydrate solely for strength whenever he needed to workout, and that was exactly my behaviour with food.
I smiled, digging into the food that was served before me. I needed to hasten up, since it was 15:50 p.m. by the time.
"You said you needed money for your bicycle, since you got a job, right?" My mom suddenly brought up this discussion, in the midst of my chaos to get done with the food and bash out of the house.
"Yes," I still had to play the cool.
"Then you can use my car," she easily offered.
My mind rumbled with rapid thoughts of whether this was going to affect my plans. I couldn't think straight since I was already occupied, but then...words came out of my mouth, sounding like a deal of a reply.
"I will take you up on the offer one of these days," I had said. "But, I needed my bicycle for now."
"When and how much do you need for the repair?" she asked.
"I will know by Monday, because the bicycle is still being repaired," I answer. "O-ok, time to go" I announced as I stood from my seat and made to the door.
"You didn't finish your food," she said as I made my way to the door.
"Yes. Help me preserve it until I'm back." I had to rush out. It was already 16:10 p.m. And I knew wasting one more minute on that dinning table was going to guarantee my mom to bring up another discussion.
I collected my bicycle from the parking lot, and drove out. While driving, I couldn't help me have a rethink of why I had rejected her offer of going out with her car. I didn't actually reject it, I preserved the offer for another time.
Then it dawned on me.
No destiny helper will consider someone who drove her kind of car in need of help.
I planned to use meeting with good people who vouched and hence, helped me while taking on this job, as an avenue to defend my source of income when I start making use of the income I generate from HS.
Arriving at 16:25 pm, 15 minutes early, I took a seat by the opposite to the Diamond Boutique and waited for Sarah's break light.
It was Sunday, a time when families, and individuals decided to go on chill-out outings. So, the area was crowded with people who performed their different fun activities.
Amongst this crowd, my eyes spotted a face that looked familiar to me. It was a girl.
The girl in question turned to meet my eyes staring at her. She must have felt looked at.
Surprisingly, she waved at me. Seeing that as an avenue, I waved back at her and signaled her to come over. Other than I had thought, she was hesitant to come over. So, I tried again, looking more serious as I waved at her again to come over.
As if I cured a sickness plaguing her thought, she began to walk down towards where I sat.
Staring into her eyes, I prostrated my hand to hers for a handshake. Her blues eyes, causing me to fall into admiration of her being, before my eyes began dropping to her physique.
She was slim, but was built with enough boobs that fitted into her curl body shape. I was caught off guard, studying her carefully.
"Hi, Tony," the girl said, a way to call me back to attention. Her smile had proved she knew where my sight headed to.
"Hi, Ashley," I responded, smiling back at her as if I did nothing.
"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be at home resting for work tomorrow?" I asked.
"Oh. I came out for shopping with my family...you?"
"I'm waiting for someone," I replied.
I noticed the glitch in her eyes before she asked, "Have she arrived?"
"She?" I acted like I didn't understand.
"Well, it's going to be unbelievable if you tell me you are out here alone, waiting for someone other than a girl. Like, Sundays were the chance—" she got interrupted by the beep from her phone.
"You have to go, I understand," I said, guessing it must have been her family calling her over. Understanding why she was hesitant at first.
"Yes, they're waiting. I've to go," she confirmed.
"Alright, take care."
I watched as she left, walking hastily to go and meet her family.
"I want her," I muttered to myself.
Not long after I made this proclaim, I suddenly felt dizzy. I shut my eyes, and waited for some time with the motive that it was going to reduce the effect.
Raising my head, I was met with a number above Ashley's head indicating my chances with her.
[50%.]
"Hmm..." I realized my thoughts and mindset were also monitored by this system. All it needed from me was my choice, to tell if I wanted any lady or not, and then my activating the system to get into work.
'Interesting,' I thought to myself.
50% chance was a very good luck for me to start with. Apparently, any rate that reached 50 won't require much of a deal to handle.
I saw myself already making great steps towards the success of my plans. If I can get bonded with this cashier, Ashley, things would really work fine.
I smiled. Seeing the way she has glitched her eyes when I told her I waited for someone, only explains that she definitely has interest in me. My little encounter with her so far, the surprising elements to it is needed in attraction.
"...hmm Interesting," I said, and was greeted by a beep of my phone.
It was a notification from Sarah.
She had arrived, with Beth. But there was a problem—
