LUNA'S POV-THE UNSPOKEN TRUTH

The next morning, Luna woke up feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. She had spent the previous day with her family, and it had been a wonderful experience. Scott had been especially supportive, and Luna felt grateful for his presence in her life.

As she got dressed and ready for the day, Luna's mom came into her room to bid her farewell. "Have a safe trip back to school, sweetie," she said, giving Luna a hug. "And don't forget to stay in touch."

Luna smiled and hugged her mom back. "I will, Mom. Thanks for everything."

Scott was waiting for her in the living room, looking a bit more serious than usual. "Hey, Luna," he said, as she walked into the room. "I wanted to talk to you about something before you leave."

Luna felt a sense of curiosity. "What is it, Scott?"

Scott hesitated for a moment before speaking. "It's about Betty. I know you're concerned about her, and I want you to be careful around her."

Luna nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Scott. "Thanks, Scott. I will be careful."

Scott smiled and handed her a small bag. "Here, take this. It's some snacks and stuff for the road."

Luna took the bag and smiled. "Thanks, Scott. You're the best."

With that, Luna said her goodbyes and left for school. As she walked to the bus stop, she felt a sense of excitement and anticipation. She was looking forward to seeing her friends and getting back into the routine of school.

Meanwhile, back at home, Luna's mom was watching Scott with a keen eye. She had noticed a change in him over the past few days, and she was curious about what was behind it.

"Scott, can I talk to you for a minute?" she asked, as he was about to leave the room.

Scott turned around, looking a bit wary. "What is it, Mom?"

Luna's mom smiled and sat down on the couch. "I just wanted to talk to you about Luna. I've noticed that you've been really supportive of her lately, and I wanted to thank you for that."

Scott looked away, feeling a bit embarrassed. "It's no big deal, Mom. I just want to help Luna out."

Luna's mom nodded, her eyes shining with warmth. "I know you do, Scott. And I appreciate it. But what I want to know is, what's behind this change in you? You've always been a bit distant from Luna, but lately, you've been really making an effort to connect with her."

Scott hesitated, unsure of how to respond. He didn't want to reveal too much, but at the same time, he wanted to be honest with his mom.

"I just realized that I've been taking Luna for granted," he said finally. "I've been so caught up in my own stuff that I haven't been paying attention to what's going on with her."

Luna's mom nodded, her expression understanding. "I see. Well, whatever the reason, I'm just glad to see you two getting along better."

Scott smiled, feeling a sense of relief. "Yeah, me too, Mom."

As the conversation came to a close, Scott's mom turned to him with a curious expression. "Scott, can I ask you something else?"

Scott nodded, feeling a sense of wariness. "What is it, Mom?"

Luna's mom leaned forward, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "What was it that you wanted to tell Luna about Betty? You mentioned something about being careful around her."

Scott's expression turned guarded, and he hesitated before responding. "I'd rather not say, Mom. It's something that Luna needs to figure out for herself."

Luna's mom nodded, her expression understanding. "Okay, Scott. I won't pry. But just remember, if you need to talk to someone, I'm here for you."

Scott smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards his mom. "Thanks, Mom. I appreciate it."

With that, the conversation came to a close, and Scott left the room, feeling a sense of relief wash over him.

Meanwhile, Luna was on her way back to school, unaware of the conversation that had just taken place between Scott and their mom. She was looking forward to seeing her friends and getting back into the routine of school.

As she walked into her dorm room, she was greeted by the sight of Betty, who was sitting on the bed, looking a bit sulky.

"Hey, Betty," Luna said, dropping her bag on the floor. "What's wrong?"

Betty looked up, her expression softening. "Oh, Luna. I'm so glad you're back. I've missed you."

Luna smiled, feeling a sense of warmth towards her friend. "I've missed you too, Betty.

"What happened while I was away?" Luna asked, curiosity getting the better of her.

Betty shrugged, looking a bit evasive. "Nothing much. Just the usual stuff."

Luna raised an eyebrow, sensing that something was off. But she didn't push the issue, deciding instead to let it go.

"Hey, I'm starving," Luna said, changing the subject. "What's for lunch?"

Betty smiled, looking relieved. "I made your favorite dough fried rice and turkey."

Luna's eyes widened in surprise. "Wow, Betty. You're a lifesaver."

As they sat down to eat, Luna couldn't help but notice that Betty seemed a bit... off. She was quieter than usual, and her eyes seemed distant.

But Luna didn't say anything, deciding instead to focus on her food.

After lunch, Luna suggested that they go to the library to study. Betty agreed, but seemed hesitant.

As they walked to the library, Luna noticed that Betty seemed to be looking around nervously. She was scanning the area, as if she was searching for someone.

Luna's curiosity was piqued, but she didn't say anything. She just followed Betty to the library, wondering what was going on.

When they arrived at the library, Betty rushed to the seat that Luna usually occupied. But when she saw that someone else was sitting there, she looked disappointed.

Luna raised an eyebrow, sensing that something was off. But she didn't say anything, deciding instead to focus on her studies.

As they sat down at a different table, Luna noticed that Betty seemed distracted. She was staring off into space, her eyes looking distant.

Luna tried to focus on her studies, but she couldn't help but wonder what was going on with Betty.

After a while, Betty got up and left the library, leaving Luna alone.

Luna was confused, wondering what had just happened. She decided to finish her studies and then go back to the dorm room to talk to Betty.

When she arrived at the dorm room, she found Betty sleeping. Luna decided to let her sleep, figuring that she would talk to her later.

As Luna sat down on her bed, she couldn't help but wonder what was going on with Betty. She seemed distant, distracted, and Luna had no idea what was causing it.

But for now, Luna decided to focus on her own studies. She would talk to Betty later, and try to figure out what was going on.

And with that, Luna settled in for a quiet night of studying, wondering what the next day would bring.

Luna walked into the dorm room, noticing that Betty was still sleeping. But as she approached her bed, Betty stirred and opened her eyes.

"Hey, Betty," Luna said softly, not wanting to startle her. "What's wrong? You seemed really off earlier."

Betty sat up in bed, rubbing her eyes. "I don't want to talk about it, Luna," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Luna raised an eyebrow, sensing that something was wrong. "What's going on, Betty? You can tell me. Is everything okay?"

Betty sighed, looking frustrated. "I just...I don't know, Luna. I was expecting something to happen today, and it didn't. And now I just feel stupid."

Luna's curiosity was piqued. "What were you expecting to happen?" she asked, trying to get to the bottom of things.

Betty shook her head, looking embarrassed. "I don't want to talk about it, Luna. Just drop it, okay?"

Luna hesitated, not wanting to push Betty too hard. But at the same time, she was worried about her friend. "Betty, I'm here for you," she said softly. "If you want to talk about it, I'm listening."

Betty looked up at her, her eyes flashing with annoyance. "I said I don't want to talk about it, Luna. Just leave me alone."

Luna felt a sting from Betty's words, but she tried not to take it personally. She knew that Betty was upset about something, and she didn't want to push her too hard.

"Okay, Betty," she said softly. "I'll leave you alone. But if you ever want to talk about it, I'm here for you."

Betty nodded, looking slightly mollified. But the tension between them was still palpable, and Luna knew that things weren't okay between them.

As they sat there in silence, Luna couldn't help but wonder what was going on with Betty. What had she been expecting to happen today? And why was she so upset about it?
