CHAPTER THREE

We were still moving in the box and I could see the woman was avoiding to make eye contact with me.

But I didn't care any way there was no way she was going to avoid all my questions with an okay.

I thought when the box suddenly stopped in front of a small green house.

The man came out of the car and opened the door for me and the woman.

I stepped out and looked around there were no mansion around here .

I mean it seems all the house looks the same to me small and there seems to be flowers in front of the building.

Why are we here I asked the woman

We are back home our house what do you mean Amelia she replied

My name is not Amelia, my name is Gloria stop calling me that , and I am not your child I said irritated already by this woman.

She just kept quiet and stared at me bringing out her bag and started looking for something inside.

I am talking to you mam you said you were taking me home this is not my homie said angrily

I know it might seem strange to you right now but I promise you once you start getting better you will remember everything she said as she tried to place her hand on my shoulder.

I immediately smack her hand away DON'T TOUCH ME I said infuriated now

Why do you keep avoiding my questions this is not my home , and you are not my mom , my mom is the queen of MYRVANIA not you and I don't like the fact you keep calling me Amelia. I spat out angrily

I thought the woman would get angry by my loud outburst but instead she just broke into tears .

I choked not knowing what to say or do just staring as this middle aged woman couldn't stop crying like a child.

I am so this is all my fault If I had been there or you this wouldn't have happened I am a bad mom she said with tears in her eyes.

I shouldn't have neglected my responsibilities as your mother, and now here you are suffering all because of my foolishness she chipped in

I felt a big lump rise in my throat and I felt as if I was being choked, I felt suffocated again as if , I couldn't bear to see this strange woman crying I was stuck to the spot unable to do anything.

It's okay, it's okay ashira the man said as he went close to her as and place is arm on her shoulder trying to console her .

No it's not okay look as what has become of my daughter all because I neglected my responsibilities towards them she sniffled again her face all puffy and her eyes to turned red from the tears.

It is okay she will get better soon with time you remembered what the doctor said right the man chipped in

But I could have done.... Ashira tried to reply but got cut off by the man

It's okay I understand come on let's go inside it won't look good if people see us like this come on.

He said as he pulled the woman to the house and they entered.

I didn't want to go inside but I didn't want her to get hurt and also it was pretty cold outside so I entered the house.

As soon as I entered I just kept on looking around.

The room was too small, even my bedroom was bigger than it , I felt suffocated just thinking the fact that people live here.

I mean even our maids don't leave here I thought but didn't voice our my displeasure as boit their living conditions, to not appear rude or bouyant as a princess being humble and kind was one of the characters we must display.

They sat down on a chair the woman seems to have stopped crying but was still sniffing.

I took a seat on one of the chairs opposite to her gazing at her intently.

Does this woman have two drums in her eyes, she just can't stop crying I soliloquize

The woman eventually got better hold of herself and turned to me with puffy cheeks and a red eye as if she got punched in the face.

You must be tired let me take you to your room she said as she stood up and started walking towards me .

Come on she said stretching her hand to towards me.

I hesitated at first but in order to please her I took it she took me to the so called room and I immediately regretted entering the house.

If you thought the living room was so small wait to you see the room it was as it they as shared the living room into four.

Then took one part of the four and then divided it again.

I felt like fainting from this horrendous sight already feeling stuffy and choked I wanted to turn back .

But after seeing the lady I decided not to .

This is your room stay here for now, I will get you some blankets and a towel okay she said as she left me in the monkey s cage she called my room.

I looked around there wasn't much here just a bed which was properly arranged and the sheets were clean as well, a cupboard I guess to thats were I put my stuff, a small table And a chair near the bed is was pretty clean and there were somethings on it .

I walked around looking for another room or maybe another cupboard.

I saw another door and walked in there was water in a bucket and a strange looking chair with a big hole in it and there was water inside.

I went out already feeling stuffy when the woman walked in with some clothes and a towel.

This is it , you can change into this fresh cloth after taking your bath and brush your teeth as well come down stairs after you are done she said .

Okay where is the bath house I said

Bath house she said inquisitively

Yeah to take my bath I replied looking stern

Oh you mean bathroom it is there you will see a bar of soap and a sponge.

You turn on the handle and get under the shower head and you can get water she said

Okay I replied taking the towel and walking into the small room.

I closed the door and started looking for the so called switch after a lot of problems.

I took my bath and went outside to change my clothes.

I stood in front of the mirror gazing at my reflection.

I looked the same except for the fact I had longer hair and it was brown, my skin seems to be a little pale .

Unlike my usual appearance I had long brown hair that reached my back.

My skin was way milky than this it was as if I was looking at a more sad version of myself.

I went downstairs as I was told there I found the woman placing food on the table .

From the aroma I knew it was going to be good.

I sat on one of the three chairs surrounding the table and waited for her to serve me.

She gave me too a square like substance she placed it on my plate she also sat down and took a bite of it.

Don't you like the sandwich I made she said

Ohh I do I said as I also took a bite and it was really good.

I mean the sandwich tastes like a piece of heaven before I knew it I was already eating another one.

I looked around and wondered where her husband was and was thus Amelia her only child.

I saw another empty seat and wondered who it was for.

She saw me staring at the empty seat .

You must be looking for victoria right don't worry she is at school she will be back in the evening. She said

Skull I said wondering what that was

Yeah don't worry you will start going to school from next week okay she said with a smile plastered on her face.

I continued eating having lots of questions in my mind but decided to just ignore it for now I was tired

As soon as I was done eating I went back to my room I could feel my eyelids getting heavier and nothing could be more relaxing than a nap .

I crashed down on my bed and immediately covered my self with the quilt.

And embrace the darkness .
