Chapter 1: The Beginning - Kaido

In a remote village nestled in a valley surrounded by towering mountains, Kaido grew up in a quiet and simple environment. Life in this isolated place passed slowly, with little to capture attention or make it worth remembering. The village was sheltered by the mountains, blocking out much of the sunlight, creating a somber and calm atmosphere. Kaido, like the other children, went to school and played with his friends, but there was always something strange in his heart—an unexplainable feeling of emptiness.

His mother, despite her ongoing illness, showered him with love and affection. His father was a central figure in his life. At first, his father was gentle and attentive, always making time to spend with Kaido, teaching him the essentials of life. Their days were filled with simple laughter and moments of innocence that he would never forget.

However, things began to change when his mother suddenly fell ill. No one expected the disease to take such a quick toll. It seemed as though she lost the strength to fight, and her condition rapidly deteriorated. Kaido did everything he could to help her, but it soon became clear that nothing could be done.

On a fateful day, when the sun was hidden behind thick clouds, his mother passed away quietly. Kaido was sitting beside her bed, holding her hand tightly, trying in vain to stop her from leaving. That moment marked the most painful moment of his life, as she slipped away. There was no one there beside him, except for himself. His father had abandoned him in that moment.

When his father returned after a sudden absence, Kaido was no longer able to listen to any explanations. His father wasn't there when his mother needed him the most. That was the pivotal moment when their relationship fractured irreparably. Kaido was left with anger and resentment, wondering how a father could be absent during such a crucial time.

In the weeks that followed, Kaido and his father became even more distant. His father was constantly preoccupied with work, and Kaido found himself alone, grappling with his emotions. Their conversations were few, and when they did occur, they were brief and devoid of warmth. Kaido could no longer understand his father's excuses about "work" and "circumstances." He needed him, and yet, his father was always absent.

As the days passed, Kaido continued to wrestle with his thoughts, growing more isolated from his father. He spent hours wandering the streets of the village, seeking answers he couldn't find. It was on one of these walks, several weeks after the loss of his mother, that he heard the sound of soft footsteps behind him. He turned around to find a strange girl standing there, her presence calm and quiet, yet her eyes held an unreadable expression.

The girl spoke in a soft, almost knowing voice, "You're Kaido, aren't you?"

Kaido looked at her in surprise, feeling a mix of confusion and curiosity. This was the first time he had heard his name spoken by a stranger. There was something about her eyes that stirred a sense of unease, as though she knew something he didn't. Then, she said, with an air of mystery, "Are you here for the same reason?"

Kaido couldn't respond immediately. Her words left him with more questions than answers. It was as if she was speaking directly to his heart, as if she knew things about him that no one else could. And before he could ask her anything, the girl vanished as suddenly as she had appeared, leaving him standing there, confused and speechless. That moment was forever etched into his mind, filling him with a growing sense of wonder. Who was she? And how did she know his name?
