Night 14: Thoughts of Escape

The LORD gives wisdom. Knowledge and wisdom come out of his mouth.

He reserves true wisdom for the upright, and a shield for those whose behavior is pure.

He keeps the way of the fair for them; he guards the way of the godly.

He will deliver you from the evil way, from the perverse speaker.

But the only thing he gave up was this - that such people reject the paths of righteousness and walk in the ways of darkness.

  Can't be an angel.

The coldness of the metal had touched Yvonne's mouth, and that, was the limit of hesitation.

The blood in the spoon flowed from the slight tremor of her arm, and the air was horribly still.

Closing her eyes tightly, Yvonne felt for the first time that she had so little way out. Drinking the blood from the spoon in one gulp. She seemed to be able to feel the cold liquid slowly trickling down her throat, and then, becoming warm, melting with her body heat.

The strong feeling of vomiting caused her lips to turn pale, and her eyes flooded with tears from the unbearable fishy odor. The contrast between the magnificent color of her lips and the blood that spilled at the corners of her mouth was strong, and at this moment, this beautiful young girl's expression of despair made people shudder.

She looked over at Pujo, only to see the handsome man staring at himself without moving. Soon, he spoke slowly.

"Gra. Miss Visata. Rumor has it that you have superior magic power, so would you please do a little one or two and divine for us ... when the honorable Duke Dandel will go to the banquet?"

It's a suspicion for the next leg of the journey.

Pujeod's face turned gracefully toward Niditra, as if trying to discern some change in the old woman's expression.

There was another moment of silence, and the only sound in the large hall was the clash of plates and knives and forks.

"Hahaha, look, how can the atmosphere be so stagnant like that, I just made that remark just now, I just want to make the atmosphere warmer, don't you think so, all the princes? Haha!"

  "Count Pujo, that's a sneer."

"No, it's a joke? You're the only one who thought of it."

  "Haha ..."

The false flattery of the seats made it possible to finally defuse the cold war, which had seen no smoke.

Yvonne let out a long breath, forcing her stomach to churn as she picked up the tantalizing She-fruit.

God, hurry up and end this sinful potluck.

  "Compost ... compost ..."

Couldn't stop the intense feeling of vomiting. Evina sat paralyzed on the damp rocks, unable to stop the nausea.

On the way back, Niditra didn't talk to her much, just couldn't stop chattering, "This is late, why don't you come to the feast, late, late ..."

Pressing her aching temples, she didn't want to speculate on what happened next, the gathering earlier had exhausted her physically and mentally. However, to her surprise, the originally cold cavern became lively.

Before her eyes were attendants coming and going, carrying dresser's mirrors of great value, and not far away was a pile of gifts from other earls.

"And what does any of this have to do with me ...," Yvonne couldn't help but laugh bitterly, a vague stomach ache causing some cold sweat to seep from the corners of her forehead.

All she needed now was a piece of bread, and a glass of hot milk.

"Decorated like this, are you used to it?" Niditrad's voice came coldly from the corner.

"Ahem, okay. ..." ruffling the dark hair that hung in front of her eyes, Evina wanted to speak.

"Then stay in peace. Shasan, from this day forward, Gra. Visata is your master, serve well."

Behind the hunched Nidhitra was a polite bow from a pretty-faced petite girl. But Evina had no intention of paying attention.

"Aunt Perd, besides this rabbit blood, there is ... more.". She was really hungry, but, never drink animal blood. After all, she was a human, it was like even with the sharp teeth of a vampire, she still believed in God.

"Don't you still feel ugly at the party? As a vampire, to refuse human blood! That kind of precious treatment is hard to enjoy. Even if this rabbit blood is no longer fresh, you still have to drink it, otherwise ... just wait to starve to death alive!"

Nidhitra showed his ugly and hideous face. Shasan, who was beside him, saw the scene and rushed to round it up.

"Honorable elders, allow the humble me to speak at this time. This supper I will serve to my hosts to consume, in the confidence of the Witch of Niditra."

As soon as Xasan's words left his mouth, Niditra let out a cold snort.

"You must get used to 'life here' or it will be difficult to fulfill your 'ambitions'." Shasan stood aside, Niditra's words were cryptic, just to avoid being in the ears of outsiders, and she knew that Yvonne heard the strings.

When Nidhitra's figure was far away, Evina sat helplessly on the ornate seat, staring despairingly at the 'dinner' in front of her.

"Let Xasan serve you your meal." The girl bowed respectfully, then stepped into a guarded Evina.

"No, I'll ... myself" Even if it's dumped into a ditch, it's better than leaving it here to give off a fishy odor.

  "You mustn't mind ..."

  "I said no, no!"

  Hunger, helplessness, then deep despair.

  It's driving her crazy.

"Then ... let me organize your clothes."

Xasan turned away from her new master's wrath at the right time, and it was clear that she was a well-behaved person.

Looking at the girl's forlorn back, Evina blamed herself for relenting. But an evil thought came to mind.

  She's got to get away!

Lost in her dark eyes, the color of her miserable lips, Evina slowly raised the metal candlestick in her hand.

God, forgive me for not being that angel of your delight.

Closing her eyes tightly, Evina gathered her courage and slammed her into Xasan's head.

"Ah ..." the shriek echoed through the empty, luxurious bedroom.

The beautiful openwork candlestick slowly rolled down from Evina's hand. All of a sudden, the dark, bright eyes filled with tears, blurring and reflecting Shasan's unconscious face.

  "I'm sorry to ... not ... up."

Shedding her expensive satin and hastily changing into the maid's garb that Shasan had on, Yvonne ran furiously all the way out of the cavern, and on the way, not a single person recognized her.

There must be a shortcut out of here.

Pray, pray that God will have mercy on your sinful people one last time, wash away my sins and show me the way to escape ...
