The Arcane Codex

Power System: Arcane Codex

The world of The Arcane Librarian and the Thousand-Year Secret operates on a power system based on knowledge, memory, and divine authority. Power is drawn from ancient texts, celestial archives, and the fabric of forgotten history.

Tiers of PowerScriptors – Basic scholars who harness minor spells from recorded knowledge.Archivists – Those who have mastered extracting hidden magic from texts.Codex Keepers – Elite warriors with authority over celestial scripts, wielding sealed powers.Chrono-Scribes – Individuals capable of rewriting or altering past and future events.Forgotten Ones – Beings who transcend time, wielding forbidden knowledge that even gods fear.Types of Power

1. Lexomancy (Word Magic) – The ability to bring words to life. A spoken or written phrase can alter reality based on the user's understanding.

Example: "Engrave: Shackles of Light"—creates divine chains binding enemies. The deeper the knowledge of language, the stronger the spell.

2. Script Weaving – Those who master celestial manuscripts can rewrite fate itself.

Limited to those who unlock Forbidden Codices.Example: "Revoke: History of Fire"—erases a past event, preventing its effects.

3. Chrono-Inscription – The ability to inscribe past, present, and future into physical form.

Used by beings like the Keepers or the Forgotten One. Extremely dangerous—modifying the past can lead to unforeseen consequences.

4. Codex Phantasma – Invoking the memories of lost warriors and legends from history.

Celestine, as a Librarian, can summon knowledge and skills of ancient beings. Example: Calling forth the swordsmanship of a long-dead hero.

5. God's Edict – Absolute divine decrees enforced by the gods, unbreakable unless rewritten by an equally powerful inscription.

Used by the Keepers to control history.
