FRIENDS

Now I knew I couldn't bare the shock of the bracelet, the way he fell was absolutely not something I wanted to experience. I helped him up as we continued walking into the forest. Now after the deer, we had seen no more animals for about ten minutes now and I was starting to get tired.

"Joseph please let's stop for a while" I said as I sat by a tree "I'm too tired to move anymore and I'm do thirsty" I said to him. He nodded in agreement as he sat beside me.

"You know we need to get at least one catch right" he asked me.

"Yes yes I know but how are we expected to get that when we don't even have water or anything at all to replenish our energy" I ran a had through my hair as I leaned on the tree. He sighed. A tensed silence reigned in the atmosphere. After a while he stood up.

"We need to start moving, we have less than three hours left and we can't afford to waste a minute". Well I knew he was right. I stood up. We continued walking, our eyes set sharply on animals with marks clutching our bow and an arrow in hand.

I tapped him.." look, up ahead" I pointed.

It was a marked bird. It seemed like it was injured as it was on the floor barely moving. Now, I had so much remorse that we had to shoot at poor innocent animals because of this game but I had the will to survive I just had to do it. As we got to the bird, it truly was injured. Joseph looked at me.

"You should have this one" he said. I stared at Joseph like he was spitting trash. I narrowed my eyes at him. Well I knew I couldn't use those 'things' but him giving the bird up for me made me feel warm and grateful. Maybe he wasn't really all that bad.

"What?" I looked at him.

"You should have this one" he repeated."you can barely use a bow and arrow to shoot at something in the distance or something moving but now you don't have to be bothered about the shock of the guiding bracelet, just shoot at the bird the way it's so close to you now" well that did make sense because the shock of the bracelet terrible me. I took an arrow and slightly poked the bird. I didn't want to hurt it and I didn't know if it'll count as something.

The bracelet clicked player just earned five points it said. I looked at Joseph as I took in what just happened. The bracelet just approved....yes it actually did.

"We don't have to kill them" I said

"You just need your arrow to touch them and that's it, the points will be counted"he concluded for me. I sighed in relief at the new discovery.

"So we just need to find marked animals and use the arrow to poke them and that's it" Joseph was also glad at this. We were still talking when a bottle of water and apple dropped from a tree. I moved back at the sudden sound made by the items when they dropped. How was this possible?

It turned out that after you get your point, you're entitled a water and a fruit..I guess. I turned to Joseph.

"It's yours" he said. I knew he had figured out the clue behind the bottle of water and apple came from.

I walked cautiously towards it and picked them up. I opened the water and took a huge gulp. I split the apple in half with my arrow. I stretched the apple and remaining water to him. " What " he looked at me.

"I'm not going to let you die of thirst, we're in this together remember?" I smiled "my hands are getting tired you know "

He laughed as he collected the apple and water. "Thank you" he pat my head before taking a bite of the apple. I ate mine too as we continued walking deeper into the forest searching once more for marked animals.

"So now we've shared food and water and you pat my head too" I walked backwards in front of him "those this makes us friends now" I fluttered my eye lashes at him. He chuckled.

"Maybe.. maybe not" he replied. Like what the freak is that reply. I whinned

"That is not a reply seriously "

"It's better than a no"

"It's literally pointless tch" I turned back and started walking away from him. He followed behind me laughing.

We had walked for a little while when we rather I, spotted a marked animal. It was a....frog? I burst into laughter immediately I saw it. Like TF??

Joseph saw it too as I pointed it out to him.

"You can have that one" I said as I continued laughing. He rolled his eyes but surprisingly didn't complain. He walked to the frog and touched it with his arrow. The guiding bracelet around his ankle clicked.

Three points to player it said.

I looked at him. Three points? I figured that the bigger the animal, the higher the points.

I wondered where we'd get animals to get us higher points, I looked at Joseph and it seemed I was the only one caring about our safety. He was busy feasting on grapes that I assumed he had gotten as reward for the animal he got.

"Seriously?" I asked looking at him. Bro was literally stuffing his mouth. I shook my head as I sat beside him, at least we had caught somethings. We were on the safe side.

The only problem now was that we didn't know how many minutes we had spent or how much time we had left. I was tired from all the walking and thinking. I sat on the forest floor, moving grasses aside as I sat by a tree. I sighed in relief, at least we were safe...for now.
