Jonathan's forehead was sweating with anxiety.
This question had been swirling in his mind ever since the two people appeared.
Jonathan knew very well that this was the apocalypse!
You couldn't trust anyone!
But for Jonathan, who had crossed over from the peaceful era of 2019, how could he just watch two living people get devoured by zombies and not lift a finger to help? How could he live with himself after that?
More importantly, if he stayed here alone, without electricity or internet, would he eventually go mad from loneliness?
Would these two be the last survivors in this place?
Living with an international superstar couple... maybe the apocalypse wouldn't be so bad after all…
With a loud crash, the iron security gate, unable to withstand the pressure, was finally pushed over by the flood of zombies. A large group of zombies rushed in, scrambling over one another to get inside.
"Henry! We have no way out!" Tiffany Haddish tightly hugged Henry Hopkins, tears streaming down her face. The two were completely enveloped in despair.
"Roar!!" A large, muscular zombie emerged from the crowd, quickly charging toward the two.
Henry Hopkins trembled, holding Tiffany tightly, his eyes closing in despair. He had given up on fighting or trying to escape.
At that moment, the security door in front of them suddenly opened.
"Roar!" Jonathan let out a furious roar as he sprinted out with lightning speed, swinging his stick and striking the zombie charging at them in the head.
"Bang!" With a loud crash, the large zombie's head exploded like a watermelon.

[20%...]
Jonathan didn't have time to pay attention to the strange sounds suddenly appearing in his head. He grabbed the two of them, pulling them quickly into the house.
With a loud bang, the heavy security door was slammed shut.
Henry Hopkins and Tiffany Haddish, having just survived the ordeal, couldn't help but embrace each other and cry with relief.
Meanwhile, Jonathan was drenched in sweat, his whole body trembling uncontrollably. The wooden stick in his hand slipped from his grip and fell to the floor with a clattering sound.
Although he knew they were zombies, after all, these creatures still had a human-like form. Killing them made Jonathan feel as though he were killing people.

The mysterious electronic voice rang out again. Jonathan felt a strange white energy enter his body from outside the door. The tension from his first zombie kill instantly melted away, and his parched mouth became moist and sweet. He felt an overwhelming surge of power coursing through him.
At the same time, a strange white energy bar appeared in front of Jonathan, almost like a projection. On the far left of the bar was a green mark, and on the right side, a black number "10%" was displayed.
?????
System?!!
A parallel world system?!
Is this the legendary system?
What is this system even for?
Jonathan stared at the energy bar in front of him, a little stunned. As a young man who often read novels online, the concept of a system wasn't unfamiliar to him.
"Roar!!!!"
"Ha ha ha~~~"
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
"Crash! Crash! Crash!"
The growls and cries of the zombies, along with the sounds of banging on the door and windows, continued outside. Horrible ghostly faces slammed against the glass, their blood and some strange sticky fluids smeared across the windows. It was grotesque.
There was no time to think. Jonathan quickly rushed to pull the curtains while shouting to the two people, "Hurry! Pull the curtains down! Stay quiet!"
This was something Jonathan had learned from zombie-themed movies. He didn't know if it would work, but at least pulling the curtains down would prevent him from seeing those horrifying faces.
It turned out that the experience Jonathan had gained from his past life in films was useful!
Soon after the curtains were drawn, the growling and banging noises outside subsided significantly. Through the small gaps in the curtains, Jonathan could see the zombies slowly retreating.
"Thank you for saving us!" Tiffany Haddish said with a choked voice, smiling through her tears. Her expression was truly pitiful, but her eyes held a hint of arrogance.
She was thanking him because of her good upbringing, but the condescension in her gaze was born from the inherent prejudice an upper-class person might feel toward someone from a lower status.
She was a rising Hollywood superstar, a bright future ahead of her. Her beauty and talent made her the object of admiration from countless men around the world.
The man in front of her, however, appeared not only somewhat out of place in his appearance, but he was also of Latin descent.
If this had been just half a month ago, this man wouldn't even have been worthy of carrying her shoes!
This wasn't arrogance on her part, it was simply the truth.
Jonathan had spent many years navigating the corporate world in his past life, so he could naturally sense the arrogance and disdain from Tiffany Haddish's eyes, as though she was keeping him at arm's length.
"Phew~~" Henry Hopkins let out a long sigh, still a little shaken, and took a few quick breaths. He switched the fire axe to his left hand, then, with a gentlemanly gesture, extended his right hand to Jonathan, saying gratefully, "Thank you so much for saving us! I'm Henry Hopkins, and this is my wife, Tiffany Haddish."
"It's a pleasure to meet you both," Jonathan replied, extending his hand as well and shaking hands with Henry Hopkins.
After all, these two were Hollywood superstars. To shake hands with two world-renowned icons made Jonathan feel a sense of accomplishment.
Tiffany Haddish politely nodded at Jonathan, but neither of them seemed to be interested in asking for Jonathan's name.
After glancing at Jonathan's appearance and skin tone, Henry Hopkins subtly furrowed his brow, then, without a change in expression, withdrew his hand from Jonathan's.
"Luckily, you opened the door for us. We were almost caught outside and could've died," Henry Hopkins said with a smile, addressing Jonathan.
The statement seemed to carry an undertone of reproach, but Henry's tone and expression didn't carry the slightest hint of blame. Instead, they conveyed a sense of refined gentility, mercy, and tolerance.
"I was upstairs when you knocked, and it took me a moment to come down," Jonathan explained with an embarrassed smile, apologizing. "I'm really sorry."
The mysterious electronic voice from earlier made Jonathan anxious to find its source. He wasn't in the mood to engage in much conversation with the two of them, so he didn't want to dwell on what had just happened.
However, from their words and actions, Jonathan could still feel a sense of wariness and an air of arrogance, as if they were deliberately keeping him at a distance.
