Taehyung woke up at the dusk. He woke up naked and looked at his bed. It was wet and he could smell the lingering scent of what smelt like sex. He was feeling alright now. The heat of the afternoon felt like a fleeting dream. He went for a shower to clean up himself.

He was standing under the shower hose as the lukewarm water fell on him. He started to reflect on what he had done that afternoon. How did he suddenly have heat? How could he think about Jungkook in such a dirty way? Jungkook was the only light of his life so how could he corrupt it with such dirty thoughts? What would Jungkook think when he knows about it? That his best friend had such thoughts about him. Jungkook would be disgusted.

Taehyung sighed in defeat. He should go to the hospital for a check-up. It was not like he didn't know about the omegas who awakened late. They would spend half of their life thinking they were beta but one day they would suddenly awaken as an omega. Maybe he was also like that. Taehyung showered hurriedly. Before Jungkook came, everything must be perfect. It must be kept secret.

"So did it work?" Jungkook's mother asked as she slipped her tea looking at her son who visited her today.

"Yes, the results are finally showing." Jungkook also sipped his tea smiling. "I need more. Please arrange medicines, mother."

"It took more than 4/5 years for the first heat," Jungkook's mother said looking at her son who was smiling crazily. "Now keep feeding him for some month and then mark him."

"I know, mother. I have been waiting patiently for all these years some one/two months is nothing. Thanks for arranging medicines."

"It's nothing. It's the least I could do as your mother." 

"Yes, I know. If not for you, I don't know how would I have kept Taehyung chained to myself for my whole life."

"I understand. " Jungkook's mother said laughing. "After all you are my son and take after me. Betas are free birds. They can fly anytime they want to. Rules of alpha and omega don't apply to them. The only thing you can do is illegally turn them to omega. But I am shocked you took a long method instead of just operating him."

"You know I can't see Taehyung getting hurt, mother. I have to make him mine with love and care so he can easily accept himself as an omega and me as his alpha when the time comes. I have to make him dependent on me only so that he knows no one is there for him except me." Jungkook said as he looked at the time opening his cell phone. It was already 6 pm.

"I applaud your patience level. I will ask Dr Namjoon for more medicines. Keep mixing them with his heart medications."

"Okay. I have to leave now Mother." Jungkook said standing up as he hugged his mother.

"My tiger must be confused and helpless right now. I have to be there."

When Jungkook arrived home around 8 p.m., Taehyung ensured everything was clean and everything in its place before opening the door. Although he was unsure if he had become omega, he could smell some pheromones in the air, which were mixed with his and Jungkook's pheromones. He spread air freshener in every nook and corner of the apartment, making sure Jungkook wouldn't be suspicious.

Awakening late as an omega was his problem, he shouldn't trouble Jungkook with this stuff. Furthermore, he had never seen Jungkook around any omega before and he had also mentioned he didn't like the sweet pheromones of omega so, Taehyung was hesitant to share anything related to today's incident with Jungkook.

Taehyung made sure he was dressed properly and opened the door for Jungkook. Jungkook stood at the door, a blazer on his right arm, smiling at Taehyung.

"How was your day, Tae?"

"It was okay. I went for groceries. That's all." Taehyung said as he avoided eye content with Jungkook. He was still feeling guilty about using his best friend to find relief earlier.

"Oh..."

Jungkook said narrowing his eyes at Taehyung. Why was Taehyung acting so nonchalant about the afternoon moreover why was he hiding such a big thing from him? He couldn't even say 'But Taehyung you were in heat this afternoon'. If he said Taehyung would be suspicious how did he know? He had hoped to provide assurement and a shoulder to lean on for Taehyung but Taehyung still seemed to think of himself as a beta.

Jungkook's eyes darkened at that thought. In this way, Taehyung might never say anything or what if Taehyung tried to distance himself? He should increase the dose. He must visit Dr Namjoon tomorrow. 

As Taehyung raised his head, he saw Jungkook look at him like a robot which startled him.

"Jungkook, are you okay?"

"Ah.. yes I am," Jungkook smiled and walked into the living room. "Did you spread air freshener?" Jungkook asked curiously to Taehyung as he sniffed the air.

"Y-Yeah..it was getting stuffy so... I kinda..ahaha," Taehyung said looking around.

"It's okay. Why are you sweating?" Jungkook said as he leaned towards Taehyung and brushed his finger around Taehyung's nape. Jungkook watched at that slender nape where Taehyung's scent gland was. If he bit that gland and injected his pheromones, Taehyung would forever be his. Jungkook removed his fingertips lingering around Taehyung's collarbone.

"And why are you so hot?" Jungkook asked as he touched Taehyung's forehead.

"Oh...it's hot out too so maybe my body temperature raised too." Taehyung moved away removing Jungkook's hand from his forehead. He looked at Jungkook's long fingers and gulped. It was this hand that Taehyung had imagined to be inside him during heat. That thought made Taehyung blush furthermore reddening his earlobes.

"We can turn on the AC then," Jungkook looked at Taehyung's red earlobes, pinched it and turned on the AC. "I'll go and freshen up."

"Yeah please," Taehyung said sighing in relief. Taehyung could still smell Jungkook's pheromones lingering around him.

That night around midnight, Taehyung again started to feel hot all over his body. Taehyung immediately ran to the shower and locked the bathroom. His pheromones shouldn't escape from here. And why was his body so unstable? He started to pant as he felt weak.

Taehyung was loss for words. He knew but somewhere in the corner of his heart, he didn't want to accept himself as an omega. He knew how hard omegas life was. He couldn't imagine himself living as an omega. But now the doctor sat before him saying he was an omega. Taehyung didn't know what to say.

Seeing Taehyung silent, the doctor continued. She could understand how the young man before her was feeling. Living your whole life as a beta and one day you are suddenly omega. Everyone will find it hard to accept it.

"When you were identified as a beta in high school your scent gland wasn't developed but maybe after that your scent gland had been developing slowly and now it is developed quite better. It will still take some months to develop fully. It is not natural but very rare. So, I am not sure how long will it take."

Taehyung lowered his head cleching his fists. Why did he have to become rare? He was fine becoming abnormal.

"Because of good care and proper medications, your body is developing without any problems although heat may be quite rough for you."

Taehyung heard the word 'heat' and he felt even more bitter. He knew what heat was. It would make omega behave like an animal who only thought of its primal instinct, to mate. During heat, omega didn't have any thoughts about anything, their rational thoughts would disappear. Their only goal would be to mate, please the alpha and produce offspring. Fuck !!! Taehyung didn't want to be such an animal.

"Unfortunately there are no medicines produced to fasten your scent gland development but I've written some medicines for you which will help you get some relief. And at last, find a reliable alpha who will help during your awakening period. Alphas pheromones are very important for omegas during this time."

Taehyung took his results as he heard he needed a reliable alpha. Where would he find such alpha? Jungkook? No, he couldn't. Jungkook was his best friend. What should he do now?

Meanwhile, at Dr Namjoon's private clinic, Jungkook sat there crossing his legs. His secretary gave a cheque of money to the doctor.

"Here is your money, doctor. Give me the usual medicines."

"Why did Mrs. Jeon didn't come this time?"

"It's very urgent," Jungkook said impatiently. Dr Namjoon was the doctor who treated Taehyung's heart and was Taehyung's parent's old friend. 

When Jungkook first visited Dr Namjoon's clinic after Taehyung had a heart problem on the day of Taehyung's parent's burial, he accidentally saw the report on the experiment of changing betas into omegas on Namjoon's desk. It was at that time, that Jungkook had an idea in his mind.

 Once that idea took its root in his mind, it sprouted in his heart and Jungkook found himself blackmailing Taehyung's doctor to share the report of the experiment with him. He knew what Dr Namjoon along with his other teams were doing was an illegal experiment. With the influence of Jeon's power, Namjoon would be ruined if anything got leaked. Jungkook also offered a huge sum of money to help with the experiment.

It was a win-win situation for both of them.

After that, Jungkook worked closely with Namjoon about the experiment. The first dose of medicine was about to be fed to Taehyung by Jungkook. 

Jungkook still remembered when Namjoon had asked him that question.

"Why are you doing this to Taehyung? You know you can just propose to him maybe he will accept you."

At that question, Jungkook answered, "My father had taught me nothing is sure and permanent in this world. Make sure it is yours before you try anything and my mother told me if I liked somebody I have to make them bound to my side by any method, cage them or break their wings. Teahyung is a beta so our future together is not sure but once I turn him into omega and bite him, he will forever be mine. He can't escape."

Hearing that Namjoon was silent and just told Jungkook to mix those medicines with Taehyung's heart medication and feed him every day. The result will be produced very late. But one thing Jungkook was very good at, was waiting. Once the result bore its fruit it would be very sweet to taste.

And now Taehyung was about to turn into omega. His patience was about to bear its fruit. He needed to hurry up and mark him before any sudden changes happened.

"Here is the last dose. After this Taehyung is yours forever." Namjoon said giving the medicines to Jungkook. 

Jungkook smiled widely as he picked up the medicines and looked at them. These small medicines changed the fate of his Taehyungie forever. Jungkook snickered as he looked at Namjoon and said, "Doctor, I love Taehyungie so much that it feels hard to breathe without him. He is the bane of my existence, the object of my desire and now he's going to be mine forever."

Dr Namjoon was shocked and curious to hear it and why was Jungkook sharing his feelings for Taehyung with him. Jungkook then switched his face like a robot without any expression. His dark emotionless eyes stared directly at Namjoon and said, "Taehyung should never know about this. If you slip out anything, you know what will happen. I will ruin you and your family."

Dr Namjoon nodded his head in fear as Jungkook stood up and exited from his clinic. He knew what Jungkook was capable of. 

Turning Taehyung into omega was a small thing Jungkook had done to keep Taehyung dependent on him, making Taehyung's world revolve only around him. If one-day Taehyung got to know it was Jungkook who changed his fate, who chased away all his pursuers, who caused that accident...Taehyung would be devasted.

He pitied Taehyung for catching the eyes of a crazy obsessive monster dressed in human clothing.
