But Leon remained unaffected by Lucien's words. His eyes still held a sharp glimmer of seriousness.
"We need to be more cautious now. They have found Siaara," he said, his voice calm yet firm. "That means they'll do whatever it takes to harm her."
Lucien could sense that, this time, Leon wasn't just being cautious, he was genuinely concerned. And that was rare. It wasn't often that Leon worried about someone like this.
"You're right," Lucien said, setting aside his usual lightheartedness. "But Leon, there's something I wanted to ask.
You mentioned that Siaara was attacked twice before. The first time was at her apartment, but where did the second attack happen?"
Leon, who had been sitting beside Siaara, slowly stood up and walked to the window.
The evening light cast a soft glow on his golden eyes as he took a deep breath, as if trying to suppress something within him.
"It's not the right time for you to know that," he said, his voice low and weighted, carrying an unspoken secret.
"I just need to get there before it's too late."
Lucien studied Leon, his curiosity deepening. "Why do you always stop halfway through your explanations?"
Leon didn't answer. He simply gazed out the window, lost in thought.
But Lucien had already figured out one thing, this wasn't just about the attacks on Siaara. There was something more, something hidden, something Leon wasn't ready to reveal yet.
And then, another thought crossed Lucien's mind. Slowly, he stepped closer to Leon, a playful smirk returning to his face.
"Alright, I won't press you on that. But there's something else I need to know."
Leon cast a brief glance at him. "What?"
"You said the first time you saw Siaara wearing that bracelet was when you saved her, right?"
"Yes," Leon replied. "But back then, it seemed completely ordinary."
"But today," he continued after a pause, "I realized that maybe… it's keeping her under control."
Lucien narrowed his eyes in thought. "Then why did it suddenly become so powerful?"
Leon didn't have an answer, and that was what troubled him the most.
"I think…" Lucien said slowly, "this bracelet has a story of its own—one we don't yet know."
Leon remained silent, but his fingers clenched slightly.
Just then, an eerie chill swept through the room. The air buzzed faintly, as if an unknown energy was spreading around them.
Lucien glanced out the window but saw nothing.
"Leon… doesn't something feel off to you?" he murmured.
Leon gave a slight nod, his gaze locked onto Siaara, who was still unconscious.
But then, fluttering!
Suddenly, hundreds of butterflies filled the room.
Golden, blue, and silver-winged creatures swirled through the air, their iridescent glow illuminating the dim space.
Lucien instinctively reached out to catch one, but his fingers met an invisible barrier.
"What the—?" Before he could finish his sentence, the butterflies began spinning faster, forming a luminous circle.
The light grew so intense that both Leon and Lucien had to shield their eyes.
And then, silence.
When the glow finally dimmed, standing at the center of the swirling butterflies was a girl.
A breathtakingly beautiful girl.
Her long, silky hair cascaded around her, and her deep blue eyes gleamed like the ocean. The entire room seemed to hum with an unknown power, charged by her very presence.
Lucien let out a low whistle. "Well… this just got interesting."
Leon's eyes narrowed slightly. "Who are you?"
The girl smiled, calm, enigmatic, yet confident.
"I thought you would recognize me," she said with quiet certainty.
Leon and Lucien exchanged a look.
They didn't know her.
But her words stirred something in them, a strange, unsettling suspicion.
What was the truth behind Siaara's bracelet? And who was this mysterious girl?
