Chapter 192: The End Begins

 (Skylar's POV)

The entire room shook.

The massive screen displayed real-time satellite footage—multiple nuclear warheads had just left U.S. military silos. The trails of fire and smoke behind them carved a path of no return.

It was done.

A horrified gasp escaped someone in the room, but I barely heard it over the pounding in my ears. Chris had actually done it. He had crossed the line no world leader had dared to cross since the Cold War.

My knees nearly buckled. Millions of lives—gone in minutes.

I turned to Chris, my vision blurring. "You just made history in the worst way possible."

He didn't even look at me. His gaze remained locked on the screen as if this was nothing more than another strategic move in his grand game of power. "This was necessary."

"Necessary?" My voice cracked. "You just turned the world against you!"

Chris exhaled sharply. "They were already against us, Skylar. I just gave them a reason to fear us instead."

I felt my body tremble. "You're insane."

He finally looked at me. And what terrified me most? There was no regret in his eyes. No hesitation.

The room was eerily silent as we all watched the missiles carve through the sky, heading toward their targets. Heading toward Nigeria.

I clenched my fists. "This isn't over, Chris."

He tilted his head. "No, Skylar. This is just the beginning."

The moment he said those words—the alarms blared again.

One of the generals spun around, his face pale. "Sir! We have an immediate response from Russia and China. They're scrambling their nuclear forces!"

My stomach dropped.

Oh my God.

The screen flashed red—Russia had launched a counterstrike.

China followed.

Europe was mobilizing.

This wasn't just about Nigeria anymore. Chris had just started World War III.
