(Skylar's POV)
The air in the White House Situation Room was thick with tension. The screen in front of me displayed a live feed—thousands of American troops storming Nigerian soil.
Tanks rolled through burning streets. Fighter jets screeched across the sky, unleashing devastation. The once-thriving cities were now war zones, overrun by the relentless force of the U.S. military.
And at the center of it all was Chris.
I stood frozen as his voice echoed through the room, calm and absolute.
"Eliminate all resistance. Okonkwo must be taken alive."
His words carried a terrifying finality. This wasn't a military operation—it was an execution.
"Chris, stop this." I turned to him, my heart racing. "You've made your point. You've already won. You don't have to—"
He cut me off, his gaze cold. "No, Skylar. I haven't won until Okonkwo is in my custody and Nigeria is under my control."
I clenched my fists, my breathing uneven. "You're committing genocide!"
Chris exhaled, his patience thinning. "I gave them a choice. Surrender or perish. They chose the latter."
I looked back at the screen. It was a massacre. Soldiers moved through the cities like shadows of death, gunning down anyone who dared resist. The Nigerian military had been overwhelmed within hours, their forces crumbling under the might of the U.S. war machine.
And Okonkwo?
He was still out there, running out of places to hide.
A commander's voice crackled through the speakers. "We've located the Presidential Bunker beneath Aso Rock. Preparing for breach."
Chris smirked. "End it."
I grabbed his arm. "You don't need to do this!"
He finally turned to me, his eyes filled with something unreadable. "Skylar, this is the world now. Either you take control, or you lose everything."
I shook my head, stepping back. "No. This isn't control. This is destruction."
The screen flashed. Explosions erupted around Aso Rock as U.S. forces breached the Nigerian government's last stronghold.
The fate of a nation was being rewritten in real time.
And Chris?
He was holding the pen.
