(Skylar's POV)
The moment Chris ended the transmission, the world descended into chaos.
News networks exploded with breaking reports. Governments scrambled for emergency meetings. Protests erupted across multiple countries. The United States had officially become an empire, and Chris had made it clear—he was unstoppable.
But nothing was more shocking than what happened next.
I stood in the White House Situation Room, watching a live satellite feed of Abuja. The Nigerian capital, once a proud symbol of independence, now bore the scars of war. Buildings lay in ruins, military convoys patrolled the streets, and U.S. forces had secured every major government building.
Then, the camera zoomed in on Aso Rock Presidential Villa—the heart of Nigerian leadership.
My breath caught.
The Nigerian flag had been taken down.
And in its place?
The American flag.
I felt the world tilt.
It wasn't just an invasion anymore. Chris had absorbed Nigeria into the United States.
The Situation Room was filled with hushed murmurs. Even Chris's own advisors exchanged uneasy glances. This was a step beyond war.
Chris, standing at the head of the room, watched the footage with no reaction. As if this had always been part of his plan.
I turned to him, my voice barely above a whisper. "Chris… you just erased an entire country."
He finally looked at me, his expression unreadable. "No."
He leaned forward, resting his hands on the table. "I just made it part of something greater."
I swallowed hard. This wasn't just about power anymore.
Chris was reshaping the world itself.
And nothing would ever be the same again.
