Chapter 255: No Loose Ends

Ethan's grip on his phone tightened as he stepped away from the hospital room. This changed everything.

The name on the screen wasn't just some rogue operative. This was someone inside the system. Someone close enough to get intel, close enough to coordinate an attack that nearly succeeded.

He exhaled slowly, forcing his mind to stay clear. No emotion. No hesitation.

Pulling up a secure line, he dialed. A crisp voice answered almost immediately.

"Sir?"

"Send a team," Ethan ordered, his voice calm, controlled. "Black site extraction. No witnesses."

"Target?"

Ethan's eyes flicked back to the name on his screen. His jaw tensed.

"General Marshall."

A brief pause. Then—"Understood."

Ethan ended the call and slipped the phone back into his pocket.

He turned back toward the hospital room, his expression unreadable. Chris needed to know.

But before that?

General Marshall wouldn't live to see the morning.
