Chapter 338: The Enemy Reacts

Unknown Location

In a dimly lit room, a group of men sat around a long table, their expressions ranging from frustration to panic.

The television screen on the wall replayed the news coverage of the lockdown.

One of them—a man with graying hair and a deep scar across his cheek—slammed his fist against the table.

"That bastard shut down the entire country!"

Another man, younger but just as furious, exhaled sharply. "This wasn't the plan! We were supposed to eliminate the boy and slip away unnoticed!"

The older man's eyes burned with rage. "Well, we failed. And now we have a goddamn military state hunting us down."

Silence filled the room.

Finally, a third man, calm and composed, spoke.

"No." He leaned forward. "We adjust. This isn't over."

The others turned to him.

"We underestimated Chris Blackwood. But now, we have something valuable." He smirked. "We know how far he's willing to go for his family."

A twisted glint flashed in his eyes.

"And that—gives us leverage."
