UNREQUITED LOVE

Sarah had been working as Alexander Gray's personal assistant for a few weeks now, and she had to admit that she was enjoying every moment of it. Alexander was charming, witty, and incredibly intelligent, and Sarah found herself looking forward to their daily interactions.

As they worked together, Sarah started to notice the little things about Alexander that she hadn't noticed before. The way he smiled when he was excited about a new project, the way his eyes crinkled at the corners when he laughed, and the way his hair curled slightly at the nape of his neck.

Sarah tried to brush it off as mere admiration, but deep down, she knew that she was developing feelings for her boss.

One day, as they were working late in the office, Alexander turned to Sarah and asked, "Hey, have you had dinner yet?"

Sarah shook her head, feeling a little self-conscious. "No, I haven't had a chance to eat yet."

Alexander nodded. "Well, let's order some takeout then. I'm starving."

Sarah smiled as she turned to Alexander. "Sounds good to me."

As they waited for their food to arrive, Alexander started to tell Sarah about his day, regaling her with stories of his business dealings and his interactions with his clients. Sarah listened, entranced, feeling like she was getting a glimpse into Alexander's private world.

When the food arrived, they sat down to eat together, chatting and laughing like old friends. Sarah felt like she was on cloud nine, enjoying Alexander's company and feeling like she was a part of his inner circle.

As they ate, Alexander asked Sarah about her interests and hobbies, and Sarah found herself opening up to him in ways she never had before. She told him about her love of reading, her passion for hiking, and her dreams of traveling the world.

Alexander listened intently, asking thoughtful questions and making insightful comments. Sarah felt like he was really listening to her, like he was genuinely interested in getting to know her better.

As the evening wore on, Sarah felt kind of disappointed. She had been hoping that Alexander would make a move, that he would maybe take her hand or lean in for a kiss. But as the hours ticked by, Sarah realized that Alexander didn't seem to be reciprocating her feelings.

He was friendly and charming, but there was no spark of attraction in his eyes, no hint of romance in his voice. Sarah was disappointed, wondering if she had misread the situation entirely.

Maybe Alexander just saw her as a loyal employee, not as a potential love interest. Maybe she was just a convenient companion, someone to share a meal with and talk about business.

As they finished their meal and started to pack up, Alexander turned to Sarah and said, "Thanks for keeping me company tonight, Sarah. You're a great assistant."

Sarah smiled, feeling a little wistful. "Thanks, Alexander. I'm happy to help."

As they parted ways, Sarah was truly down. She had been hoping for something more, something that would indicate that Alexander felt the same way about her.

But as she walked out of the office, Sarah realized that she wasn't going to give up. She was going to keep working hard, keep being the best assistant she could be, and maybe, just maybe, Alexander would start to see her in a different light.

Little did Sarah know, Alexander was watching her from across the room, a thoughtful expression on his face. He had noticed the way Sarah looked at him, the way she smiled when he was near.

And for the first time, Alexander wondered if maybe, just maybe, he had been blind to the feelings of the one person who had been by his side all along.

As the days went by, Sarah continued to work hard, trying to prove herself as a valuable member of Alexander's team. But despite her best efforts, she couldn't shake the feeling that Alexander didn't see her as anything more than a loyal employee.

One day, as they were working on a project together, Alexander turned to Sarah and asked, "Hey, can I ask you something?"

Sarah nodded, feeling a little curious. "What is it?"

Alexander hesitated for a moment before asking, "Do you believe in love at first sight?"

Sarah was taken aback by the question, but she tried to play it cool. "I don't know," she said. "I've never really thought about it."

Alexander nodded thoughtfully. "I've always been skeptical of the idea," he said. "But lately, I've been wondering if maybe there's something to it."

Sarah felt something in her chest as she met Alexander's gaze. Was he hinting that he felt the same way about her?
