Chapter 21: A Family Meeting and a Mission in Myanmar

"Do you dare to say that it in front of Mrs. Rose?" Icha challenged, standing remarkable gorgeous in front of Rosalind's office door.

"Of course! Why not?" Katon retorted. Icha giggled.

"I'm the one who wouldn't dare, Sir. Please enter the room, Madam is waiting inside." Icha opened the door with a sweet smile. Katon and Morgan passed Icha, Morgan giving a polite nod, which was returned with an equally polite smile.

"You've slept with her, haven't you?" Morgan accused. They walked down a long corridor lined with small gardens before entering Rosalind's office.

"Accusation or a guess?"

"An analysis of your body language!"

"Just once, Morg."

"Bastard!" Morgan cursed softly as Katon opened the door to Rosalind's office.

"My Rose," Katon greeted. Rosalind was standing in front of her desk, talking on the phone. She raised her index finger, signaling Katon to be quiet and not disturb her. Very assertive and dominant. Rosalind's posture was incredibly beautiful as she stood, the light from outside illuminating her through the wide glass windows behind her desk. Rosalind Arsa Anindito was 175cm tall, quite tall for a woman. Her soft brown hair flowed long past her shoulders, reaching the middle of her back. A strand of hair covered her bare shoulder, revealing her clean, healthy skin.

Katon and Morgan stood at ease, army-style, watching Rosalind talk in French. They waited a long time for Rosalind to finish her conversation. When she finally put down the phone, she turned around, smiling.

"Katon Lanang Tenan. Finally, arrive at home," she said, spreading her arms. Katon stepped forward and pulled Rosalind into a hug.

"How are you, my Rose? Everything okay?"

"With you here, Mas? Exceptionally well," Rosalind replied. Katon kissed her head and released the hug.

"Don't get your hopes up, Rosie. You know he can't keep his ass in one place for long," Morgan said. Rosalind laughed and extended her hand to her brother's friend.

"How are you, Morgan?" she greeted, hugging Morgan.

"With your brother beside me, what could be better then?" Morgan replied. Rosalind laughed again.

"Please take your sit," she ordered, picking up the phone again and ordering drinks for Katon and Morgan.

"Don't bother, Rosie. We can have lunch together afterward," Katon said.

"Great! We need to have lunch together because I have something to discuss. I need your help in Myanmar, Mas," Rosalind retorted, walking towards Katon and Morgan.

"Myanmar?" Katon and Morgan said together. Rosalind nodded.

"I have land in Loi Chyaram Village, in the northern Shan State. I need the land to grow Padauk or Angsana as a material for my perfume. I need the Pterocarpus indicus substance found in Angsana. Unique plants that can only be found in Myanmar, like the Bagan Tree and Thanaka Tree. Both trees grow abundantly in Loi Chyaram Village," Rosalind explained.

"Okay. If it's like this, it's time to tell us the problem," Katon snorted. Rosalind smiled gleefully.

"I knew you'd be my savior, Mas," she said playfully. Katon responded by raising his eyebrows.

"I'm having trouble with the militias there. They were there first. But since the Taliban was eliminated by the United States, they've been scattered and lost their power. In recent months, they've returned. Not as strong as before, but enough to scare my farmers."

"Why did they come back, Rosie?" Katon asked.

"Because they want my land to grow opium, like they used to."

"Recent months? And you're just telling Katon now?" Morgan asked. Rosalind smiled sweetly.

"I had to try on my own first, right? Not immediately ask for Mas Katon's help. Just because he's the eldest son," Rosalind retorted.

"Okay, so what now?" Katon asked again.

"I've partnered with UNODC. I'm being helped by the UNODC Regional Representative, Jeremy Douglas. They're working subtly to educate the locals about the dangers of growing opium."

Morgan, who had been listening intently, frowned when he heard Rosalind mention another man's name.

"But I've also deployed mercenary forces, assisted by the local military, to secure my territory."

"Then what's the problem, Rosie? It seems like you've handled everything well. Both the subtle and the brute force approaches!" Katon retorted, annoyed. He was tired of listening to his sister's complaints, which ended up sounding like Rosalind showing off her work.

"I want you to kill the syndicate leader. Dismantle them from the inside so they don't bother my farmers anymore," Rosalind hissed.

"Huh?!"

Katon and Morgan shouted almost in one time.
